There's a whole texture thing going on with locs. Hair with the right texture to loc can be twisted around itself with no damage and does not smell or get dirty. Hair with the wrong texture can only sorta kinda loc, and it has to be broken to do so. That sort of hair does NOT loc properly, it's basically matted, like we see here, and gets dirty and smells. And THEN there are whole stupid rules made in various places saying people can't have "dreadlocks" when what they mean is this sort of monstrosity. People with the wrong hair type ruining a perfectly legit hairstyle for people with a particular texture of hair.

At first glance I thought it was a mullet grown out but never trimmed to even up the ends. Then I looked closer. It looks like she’s wearing a dirty ratty old throw rug on her head. But seriously, it looks like dreds rolled into a bun, never taken out but just grown out for about 20 years (we only grow an average of 6 inches of hair per year, so this several feet of hair took decades to grow this long). And W T Actual F? Is that dried grass or something sticking out of it? What do you want to bet it also stinks, because it sure doesn’t look like you could clean that matted s**t. If she was a stray cat or dog all matted like that, the vet would do a hygienic shave down to her scalp. Then a strong flea bath. Imagine how much it weighs. How can she sleep with that s**t hanging off her head? I have to stop commenting and move on…
