Not everything is terrible. Sometimes we let ourselves forget how beautiful the world is. It doesn’t mean that the issues we face every day are not important. Sometimes we just need… a little break. A reminder of what it all could be more like. What we could be more like.

The pictures on this list will surely put a smile on your face, maybe make you cry a little. But happy tears only. Most importantly, we hope that they will inspire you to see more good in the world, and do more good.

I saw this and cried. As a student, I would've loved this because I understand the feeling of not having a father.

completely understand & relate. though i saw this whole series & how it played out, i also balled through out it. though it wasn't my daddy's fault he was kept away from me & he was cruelly beaten to death (murdered) just before being able to track him down & let him know i'd always loved him, wanted him, despised my lying, psycho mother & always knew he loved me too. It's always horrible growing up w/o a father no matter what.

Growing up without a dad, in a white, privileged area of the US, this brought instant tears to my eyes. I would have given an appendage for a father of any race, color, ethnicity, religion, or sexual orientation to have shown up for me just once. THIS is America.

This makes me want to cry. My parents divorced when I was two years old. I never had a dad for that father-daughter dinner or that father-daughter dance. How wonderful of the school to realize children should not be left out, especially through no fault of their own.

@full name i have a father and i can still answer. It gives a child at least one day to spend where they don't have to be embarrassed to not have a father. Where they get to spend time with one of these amazing men and get some wisdom that could last a life time. One day one minute can change the course of someone's life, just to know someone cares.

I'm amazed nobody complained about letting stranger men near their kids. I wished it was easier to have this kind of kind action, but with all the (rather justified, yeah) distrust nowadays, it's hard to even lend a hand to a stranger in the street without any fear of reprehension.

My BF Grew Up Incredibly Poor. When He Was A Child, He Wanted A Charizard Lunchbox – He Felt If He Had It At School, He’d Feel Normal, Like Everyone Else. I Found The Lunchbox On Ebay, 18 Years Later

My BF Grew Up Incredibly Poor. When He Was A Child, He Wanted A Charizard Lunchbox – He Felt If He Had It At School, He’d Feel Normal, Like Everyone Else. I Found The Lunchbox On Ebay, 18 Years Later

My boyfriend and i were at Walmart recently, and he recounted a story to me from his childhood. He grew up incredibly poor, his mother being a single mom raising two kids on her own, his father abandoning them when he was very young. He and his mom would “window shop” at stores, just to pass the time and look at stuff they knew they couldn’t buy. When he was little, when pokemon was really big, Walmart had a Charizard lunch box. He thought it was the coolest thing; Charizard was his favorite pokemon, and how often did you see things with just Charizard? The lunchbox wasn’t necessarily expensive, but with the threat of no power or running water, it might has well have been a billion dollars. His mom put the lunchbox on layaway and said he’d get it for his birthday, but my boyfriend knew that it wasn’t going to happen and it was definitely more of a gesture. It was so much more than a lunchbox. He felt if he had this lunchbox at school, he’d feel normal, he’d feel like everyone else.

His birthday is in December, and after much eBay stalking I found the lunchbox he yearned for, 18 years ago. It was in amazing condition. This was the moment it really started to sink in. He cried for a LONG time. He finally got his lunchbox he could never have.
