Wouldn't it be counter intuitive if one of these "millions of artists" drew a concept character and then the company just... what? Redraws it at the same level the artist did? Re-upload the already drawn work? This literally works perfect for a kid. Kids draw chaoticly, so having a professional take the kids idea and show it off in such a way is incredible.

This was a legitimate alphabetic character centuries before it allegedly* became associated with white supremacists. Also, many people put a bar across the zero character to distinguish it from the letter O. Especially helpful transcribing passwords consisting of mixed alphanumeric characters. *I say allegedly only because I couldn't locate any citations.

Cringe content is popular all over the internet, as it seems to be a genre that has unlimited sources to pull from, but today we’ll be diving deeper into the subreddits CringetopiaRM (or Cringetopia Remastered) and Cringetopia_Two. The two groups are partnered with one another and have amassed an impressive 116k followers combined, over the course of only 2 and a half years. To learn more about how these two realms of Cringetopia came about, we reached out to Reddit user Dragonier_, one of the moderators of Cringetopia_Two, and Timo, one of the moderators of CringetopiaRM.
“Both this and our partner sub, CringetopiaRM, were created as a continuation of the former Cringetopia subreddit,” Dragonier_ told Bored Panda. “As for the inspiration, I’ll attempt to give you a (not so) brief rundown of our recent history, as it is only really explainable in this context. About a year or so ago, the original Cringetopia ran into issues where the owner decided that it would be a good idea to create a Reddit-like website dedicated to hosting the community, and attempted to migrate their user base to it,” the moderator explained.
“The reason for this has been, so far, speculation amongst the community, but is a mix of increasingly strict site-wide rules on Reddit making the sub’s operations restrictive, and the possibility that the owner wanted to generate their own revenue through a proxy site.”

“To motivate their users to make the move, they formulated a story where a rogue moderator (who I shall not name) posed as a furry and started trolling the subreddit by only allowing furry-related posts and posts that praised the furry community - one of the primary communities that we would consider cringe,” Dragonier_ continued. “So it was against the nature of the subreddit.”
“This ended up backfiring on them, as it subsequently caused the deterioration of the former subreddit, and influenced the creation of a number of ‘splinter’ subreddits to form by their own members in protest of this,” he told Bored Panda. “CringetopiaRM and Cringetopia_Two are simply the two subs that gained the most traction in this time as the original community split and flocked to these.”

Timo, moderator of CringetopiaRM, added that he was confident that this new subreddit would gain a large following, because the original Cringetopia had 2 million members. “That's why I wanted to invest a lot of time in it,” he told Bored Panda. “Seeing it grow made me happy to see that we did a good job and that our work paid off.”
“For me, it has been quite rewarding to see both communities grow to the size that they are, and you can’t help but smugly grin in light of what has happened,” Dragonier_ shared. “Whilst Cringetopia_Two may not be as large as our partner sub, we still host a faithful community, and the emphasis is not on the size of the sub but the quality of our posts. I fear we may eventually face the same problems as the original Cringetopia subreddit as we grow in size, but such is the ‘lifecycle’ of any community on this website. So we will enjoy this freedom whilst we still have it…”
The moderators explained that both subs can be seen as the successors of the former Cringetopia subreddit. “However I can not take credit for that, as that was down to u/Reddit-User-3000. We are just part of the teams that carefully moderate these subreddits,” Dragonier_ added.

We were also curious what the moderators’ thoughts were on why people enjoy this type of cringey content so much, considering that it seems to bring people physical pain. “I think it all boils down to our mutual need for drama,” Dragonier_ told Bored Panda. “People want to watch other people acting strange and abnormally, because it is entertaining to us. We all ironically enjoy feeling second-hand embarrassment for others and reading the opinions and reactions from other people in the community. I think it is a positive thing.”
He also noted with a laugh that he doesn’t think his community’s posts go so far as causing viewers pain very often. “But our members tend to frequently use this analogy in a metaphorical sense,” he added.

They do understand that haven't is a contraction of "have not." If I said to them "yeah, but it isn't my jam" would they say the same thing about disrespect? I listen to a lot of music, new and old. Some of it I like, some of it I don't. That is personal preference, not an attack on the band. We all feel music a little differently.

hear me out. 1. We have a thing called AA in employment praxis. In my country, South Africa, we have a variant called BEE (Black economic empowerment), which gives companies a higher or lower score based on how many disadvantaged categories they comply with in terms of employment equity. The idea is to give people from marginalised groups a better chance. 2. Women are often comped free in nightclubs or given discounts, at least in my country, and usually on occasion nights e.g. halloween etc. SO, the concept of having a differential economic advantage for a designated group (in this case, women getting a lower price), is not that alien. Just saying.

I'm not a vegetarian/vegan or anything, I'll eat almost anything! But my son is 7 and he's refused to eat meat since the very beginning. He started off just not liking it.. now he's grown up abit he's decided for himself he doesn't want to eat meat and tells people he's a vegetarian. He knows I eat meat and I just cook him slightly different meals than me and teach him the importance of eating other things like eggs and nuts for protein if he doesn't want to eat meat. What I dread more than anything is people thinking I've forced him to not eat meat! Like parties I have to clarify "I'm not veggie, he's decided himself!" Never want to be thought of as one of those parents!!

I'm sort of on board but they are also pointing out that they accidentally let the child try a food that was "forbidden" and they liked it. Then asked the child to ignore the forbidden food and gave the reason after. Telling a child they can't have something, then they get it and like it, and giving an excuse after is a perfect way to have the child basically only ever want that thing regardless of the reason. I don't drink soda but my son saw someone drinking it and I explained what it was and why I don't drink it. Another day he saw some wanted to try it and I told him sure just a little at dinner and the reasons why. He liked it but rarely asks for it and if he does I remind him why and it's an occasional treat. If I said no never again because I am against it he would throw a tantrum whenever he saw it and scheme of ways to obtain

See could be another explanation. During the rescue of the death camp survivors in 1945, someone in the forces got hold of a box of lipstick and distributed it. Only 15% of registered chess players are women. This probably has more to do with the lack of top 100 players, more than any intelligence gap. Women are discouraged for participating in chess around the world. As for athleticism, why not ask Billie Jean King and Bobby Riggs.

They are hydro dipping (dipping in water with a layer of spray paint on it) the guitar but I think they are doing it wrong. The strings and hardware should be removed and the sound hole plugged for proper drying.

these sort of guys always existed. Sometime in the 90's a group of us posted signes inviting people to a spot of larping. One guy turned up with a clearly carefully constructed character which seemed based on he man. He was all dressed the part complete with plastic sword. (we were in our late teens early twentys). We pointed out the signs all said cyberpunk, but he kept going on about his insane sword skills. So obviously, first fight in he got shot. He was really mad. Just thought I'd share this for those of you too young to know life before social media had types like this too.

NFTs were obviously pointless from the start for the simple reason that the image itself is not stored in the blockchain. Hence if the host goes down, the blockchain record would be invalidated and the NFT valueless at that point.

In some views of racism, this is indeed true. That hatred of a majority race cannot by definition be called racism because racism is in part defined as a social dynamic in which the race discriminated against is not in power. Thus, in the USA for example, whites cannot be victims of racism because they will never be in a weaker position. This doesn't mean that they are not hated or whatver, but that it doesn't correspond to racism. The same would go for men vs. women. Men could not be victims of sexism, only women. Not to say that these views are right or wrong, but they do exist, so this person maybe subscribes to this line of thought.

OP is clearly american because they are not aware that "majority" and "minority" mean something different outside usa. In south africa which had the most overtly foul racist laws (my country), the majority are black and the minority are white, so this comment becomes incorrect here. HOWEVER the academic position on the matter is that racism isn't merely hate against another race. It is specifically and also a belief in superiority of one's race. Hence, since black people generally do not hold themselves to be "superior" to whites, even if they hate whites, they are not fully/technically being racist. Maybe phobic. Lastly, the academic definition of racism includes power structure differences. So in my country, whites indeed are vastly richer, on average, and vastly more powerful, on average. E.g. they can just leave and go to other countries if they wish, or win law cases easily compared to black citizens who struggle to get justice, etc. HENCE if a black person criticises or resents a white person's privileges it is not racism so much as merely resentment. I hope that explanation clarifies the OP's intention in their post, even if it is garbled. IF you disagree, please note I am EXPLAINING the OP's post, NOT saying it is correct or not.

That actually made me mad when they removed the tag. It shows the privilege (and in some cases, the white privilege) inherent in the LGBTQ movement. As part of the Hispanic community, we really can't decide that movies/shows that portray us in a negative light don't represent us. Breaking the fourth wall is when a fictional character addresses the audience directly (the fourth wall is the invisible one between a stage and the auditorium). "Extended" just means it goes on too long, I suppose. It is a poorly-constructed sentence, I agree.

The term 'non-binary woman' doesn't make much sense at first glance but this person's whole identity can be valid based on their own definitions of the terms. Remember queer labels are mostly defined by the people who use them, so go with what they tell you, it makes sense to them

I don't get it. I got treats for getting vaccinated as well. I have a serious phobia of needles but I know I had to be vaccinated so I went, not to get gifts (I didn't know I was getting anything) but it was a nice surprise

if he didnt want to be vaccinated, he'd just refuse. he's an adult. his wife can't force him to do anything. like others have said, he probably has a fear of needles (like many of us do!). having something to look forward to probably helped ease his anxiety while he got his shot. i just turned 18, & my mom still rewards me with a trip to wendy's after i get my blood taken every 3 months. she knows it helps me to think "i get to have wendy's today" instead of "i get 4 vials of blood taken today." if this guy is afraid of needles too, it's very compassionate & supportive of his wife to help him associate needles with happiness instead of fear.
