Kids are mean and rotten when no one is watching. They have undeveloped brains so they are naturally awful when they are with their peers unsupervised.

Now this is a genuine example of what it's like to have Asperger's... notice how it's nothing like a certain rich guy who uses the syndrome as an excuse to be a jerk.

This poor man. As a mum of an autistic adult son with severe learning disabilities who is friendly, trusting and socially awkward this is my worse nightmare. It makes me want to shield him from the world but I have to let him live and be happy. I’m grateful he has 1:1 professional support but still worry at times for him. Gavin you are a far better man than those you’ve given a second chance to.

This kind of thing happens a lot to people. Happened to my brother when he was young who has Asperger's. A gang of kids went after him and he had to run. It traumatised him for a very long time.

It was unfortunate, but the Hiroshima Bombing ended the war quickly. Had it not been dropped we would have invaded and countless more would have died. The Japanese Empire lied to civillians and told them american soldiers would eat their children, so they would have likely committed mass suicides as seen on other islands during the war.

I thought the same thing too. We are getting fed lies and propaganda to try and convince us to hate people who are being fed lies and propaganda who all in the end just want to live their life and take care of the people they love. We ALL have way more in common with others, but are seen as just pawns for the elites' games. Idk where you are from, who you worship, what you wear, or how you speak you are not my enemy. My enemies are the people who believe that humans don't deserve shelter, food, clothing, healthcare, safety, stability, education, or to get a say in how to live our lives.

and people supported this, the dropping of those bombs would of been classified as a war crime since their was no military bases in nagasaki and the majority of hiroshima was a major city then army i'd like to add 1000 children were killed in hiroshima and many after the years also this Hiroshima was home to the Japanese Second Army HQ, but it was primarily a big city with a huge civilian population. About 10,000 of the total 200,000 deaths in Hiroshima were military personnel. Nagasaki had no military units and, of the total 140,000 deaths there, only about 150 were military.

The Man Who Flooded A Town For Sex

The Man Who Flooded A Town For Sex

In 1993, a man named James Scott purposely damaged a levee and caused a massive flood of the Mississippi River only to stall his wife from coming home so that he could party.

His actions flooded 14,000 acres of farmland, destroyed buildings, and closed a bridge. He was convicted of "intentionally causing a catastrophe" and is still in prison serving a life sentence.

He may be innocent of that since it was some odd thing in the trial, as one of the main whitnesses having a major financial interest in having the cause being vandalism and not natural. However, as he has commited several arsons and burglaries he does belong in jail.

The last paragraph doesn't seem to make sense. I've seen a bush fire engulfing buildings, a few years ago in Greece (from the distance; we managed to flee in time. It was terrifying). If fire - and especially thick smoke - reached you, it's unlikely you'd be able to "get out and go to an area that has already been burnt".

Just imagine being taken from your home and placed in a plastic cell. You can make out noises. See figures press to the walls. Food is thrown to you. Space is small. No one to talk to. The water/air temp/humidity isn't right for your body and you can't speak to anyone to ask for help. Slowly you go mad. You figure you can try to end it an be free that way. There is no escape from your own mind. You try hurting yourself just to feel someone fix it an touch you. But in the end you give up an just let the darkness come. Alone. Zoos and aquariums should be rehab areas. Not containment for life places. Only if an animal can't survive in its habitat then we could intervene.

We do lockdown drills at my school but I've taken active shooter training. You RUN. EVERYONE RUNS. I've told my students that if it actually happens, we have 8 staircases out from this floor, and they're going for them. We're not going to lock the door and hover in a corner where we'll be shot like fish in a barrel. It's insane I even have to hold this conversation.

The worst description I've heard after a mass shooting (Uvalde) was how they identified one child by her shoes. Automatic weapons does a lot of harm to childrens bodys and there was not enough left of 10 year old Maite Rodriguez that they could identify her by anything other then her green shoes with hearts on them. (It's really sad and insane that you have to clarify which school shooting and kids something this horrible happened to)

But we also don't have an NRA. From the article- The gridlocked nature of U.S. politics—with a system of checks and balances—in part explains the inability to tackle the issue. However, experts say that, ultimately, the reason why the U.S. has been unable to match the progress made in other countries, is the outsized influence of the gun lobby and manufacturers. “The gun lobby has put a stranglehold on some of our elected officials so that they are more beholden to gun manufacturers than to their constituents,” she says. The National Rifle Association (NRA) spends $3 million per year to influence gun policy.

This is as good a place as any to say it. We need better for our First Responders. They are underpaid, they don't get decent medical or mental care. When they pass on their families have to fight the system to get the benefits that are owed to them. These brave men and women go into the literal fires and fire fights to save us. We need to do better.

Rabies is really interesting in the most morbid way. It gathers in an host body's saliva but also makes the host terrified of drinking water. This together with excessive saliva production concentrates the hell out of the virus in the host's mouth. The virus makes the host delirious and aggressive with a tendency to bite, and then it spreads to the next host. It is really scare how it is like "engineered" to spread. Making itself concentrate in the mouth and then altering the mind to get the host to bite. It really is like a real life zombie virus.

This is the sort of case where I think that there's a good argument for mercy killing. If you don't have the facilities to put a symptomatic rabies patient in a medically induced coma, there is basicly zero chance of them surviving, and it's a horrible way to die. There's also a high risk to those around them, because the rabies victim will be actively trying to bite them to spread the virus. Sure, quarantine a victim, vaccinate them, hope like hell they aren't infected, but once they're symptomatic and have lost control of their actions, if you can't provide them with the extensive treatment (which almost never works) then just euthanise them as humanely as possible. We would do it for a dog, or a wild animal, so why the hell won't we give mercy to fellow human being? There's no 'sanctity' of human life when that human is insane, in agony, and terminal, and attacking people to infect them with the same lethal virus.

Exactly. I think this is true with any terminal disease. There's no reason to let any living creature suffer longer than they have to. I think if someone is already dying and they're suffering than they should have the choice to be euthanized.

If you get bitten by an animal, get a shot right away. When you get symptoms it's to late and it's a death sentence. It's 100% deadly and you will die in agony. Google says about 15 people have survived rabies world wide, so the odds aren't good...

yup I got bitten by a feral kitten, didnt take chances and went to ER and got the shots. I'm still amazed at how lax the response was by people, like they didn't know how deadly it was, even the Dr. I saw at urgent care, and they had no clue about where to get the shots.

There's a tiny, TINY handful of people that survived in a medically induced coma. But overall: Yes. It's game over. That's why if you even slightly suspect that you could have come in contact, get vaccinated immediately.

There is still one iron lung patient alive - Paul Alexander, who has been in one since 1952 after polio left him paralyzed at the age of 6. Saw a documentary about him once, which was interesting. He graduated college, got a law degree, practiced his adult life and would sometime be a public speaker to various groups (via video). They stopped making the machines in like the 60s and its not like you can get replacement parts so even maintaining the damn things requires a lot of ingenuity and specialization from a very small group of Paul's friends or hired help willing to do it.

*THESE* are the kinds of things that should be shown to younger children to discourage them from ever even trying a drug. Traumatic, sure, but probably a whole lot more effective than the "just say no" campaign ever was.

While in town the other day, the shop owner where we were mentioned "our friend is still there." There was this guy standing statue across the street completely still. He was covered up in jackets and hat so you couldn't see his face but he was just standing like that for hours. They said it was a drug that involved horse tranquilizers and you just stand or sit for hours without moving.

(from wikipedia:) Tom Smith, a research ecologist with the Alaska Science Center of the U.S. Geological Service declared that Treadwell "...was breaking every park rule that there was, in terms of distance to the bears, harassing wildlife, and interfering with natural processes. Right off the bat, his personal mission was at odds with the park service. He had been warned repeatedly."

"Almost from the start, the National Park Service (NPS) expressed their worries about his behavior. The park's restrictions made him increasingly irate. According to the file kept on Treadwell by the NPS, rangers reported he had at least six violations from 1994 to 2003. Included among these violations were guiding tourists without a license, camping in the same area longer than the NPS's seven-day limit, improper food storage, wildlife harassment, and conflicts with visitors and their guides. Treadwell also frustrated authorities by refusing to install an electric fence around his camp and refusing to carry bear spray to use as a deterrent"

Jaw strength definitely makes up for broken teeth. That bear had no trouble eating them alive. They made poor choices, and no one can hand fight a giant grizzly, regardless of its tooth condition; the only issue this really causes, is the bear being excessively desperate for an easy meal. It's still capable of eating you, just more aggressive and persistent.

This dude was a f*cking moron of the highest caliber. He parked his tent right on a high-traffic bear path, during the season when there's high competition for food to fatten up for hibernation (i.e., lots of very aggressive bears), and did so illegally (the park was closed but he snuck in anyway). I feel bad for his girlfriend but this guy got exactly what he deserved when he bypassed all of the safety measures and advice put in place to protect him.

It's not the religion, but the character of the person practicing. Consider the person who dedicated their life to caring for the homeless, or the doctor who travels with DWOB because they believe it is what their faith tells them is right. They read the same books, the same stories. So, what is the difference? It's the content of the individual's character, and which stories they choose to embrace and live by. IMO, blaming the religion takes away the responsibility from the human who did the atrocities...kind of like when a person tries ro blame "the devil" when they do something wrong. It's a cop out.

My mother had emergency surgery followed by 3 weeks in intensive care and then 3 months on the wards. Total cost: $260 for some medication on discharge. Australia.

Any stories about non emergency surgery? Blown knee? Knee replacement? Maybe even melanoma? I have a friend who died at 28 from skin cancer because he was on germanys healthcare system. When he finally saw a DR in the US he said they waited too long to take action. In the US you would get immediate treatment.

There's no debtor prison. Meaning they no longer arrest you for unpaid debts in the US. I don't have insurance. I had $8000 in hospital bills and didn't pay. Collection agency kept sending me scary things in the mail like ill have to go to court. It hasn't actually happened. I never paid. I ignored it. When I looked at my credit it was good 5 years later. My credits 7.5 I was told medical debt doesn't go on your credit card report. I haven't seen it with mine. I guess worse case it's bankruptcy? Which makes finding a place to live hard 3 years after you file. I don't have a co signature either. Apartments don't rent to people who file bankruptcy for a certain amount of years. Homeless rate is ridiculously high also. Dental offices, prompt care & doctor offices make you pay up front so you can't dine and dash. Why we have $12,000 debt for dental on our care credit card which has made me have to use food banks.

I just posted a similar comment to yours. As of 2022 medical bills no longer show on your credit report. Still have 12k from a hernia surgery back in 2019 that my insurance paid 20K towards. and 2.5K for a covid test after (the free) covid test clinic advised me to go to the emergency room coz of my lungs. Yep get those BS letters from collection agencies, and they go into the trash. As for dental I went with dentures 20 years ago. Anyways Tiffany, don't worry about those outstanding med bills! Have an avg of 810 credit score.

I SWEAR TO F*****G GOD KRISTA. I don't give a s**t if I sound irrational or stupid, I'm just so mad at all those comments. The American healthcare system has f****d me over for every f*****g year of my disease riddled life and I HATE you for making it like this. Without people like you, I WOULD BE ABLE TO F*****G AFFORD MY HEALTHCARE. I WOULDN'T HAVE TO RATION MY LIFE SAVING MEDICATION. I WOULDN'T HAVE TO WAIT OUT PAIN BECAUSE THE ER IS TOO EXPENSIVE. I WOULDN'T HAVE HAD LIE TO END PHYSICAL THERAPY EARLY SO I DIDN'T HAVE TO KEEP PAYING THAT BILL. I absolutely hate you and I hope you feel guilty for every single death you've contributed to. And btw, not everyone gets appointments quickly like you. I've suffered through too much damn s**t to have patience for people like you. I'm angry and tired at the medical system and I'm angry and tired at people like you who think it's fine the way it is.

I hear you and I'm sorry that this supremely f****d system has screwed you over like it did me. I saw 6 different medical professionals over 3+ years before one of them had the sense to check my Vitamin D. It was borderline severely low. And if I hadn't figured out that I needed to see a Rheumatologist (was finally diagnosed with Rheumatoid Arthritis) I'd probably have died by now. And because my ex lied during our divorce the judge didn't believe I was sick (this was right before my diagnosis) so I'm now in a situation where I can't even afford health insurance. I wish I could say I know it's going to get better, but I don't want to lie to you.

I'm in the US. My dad had a quintuple bypass, got a pacemaker and ICD, had to stay in the hospital for about 2 months due to an incredibly slow, problem filled recovery, and my mom got a bill for almost a million dollars. It was so funny to look at on paper that all we could do is laugh. Give me two.

This happened to my uncle with a waaay better outcome. His pot holing partner told him to go face down instead of face up & he got totally jammed in. He was there for some time feeling the water rise , the rest of the team left him so they could survive and he was exhausted and going nowhere. He was at peace then decided to have one last try before succumbing to death. As he gathered his energy, grabbed the rock to pull himself forward, a huge rush of water together with his last try pushed him out of position into a place of relative safety & they raced to get him out of the flooding tunnel. Didn't put him off, he loved pot holing & continued until he died in his 50s of crappy cancer.

The people here were sitting back about 15 feet from the croc, giving the illusion it is much larger. Done all the time in photography only in reverse. (ex. person holding the Eiffel Tower in the palm of their hand, or a person holding up the Leaning Tower of Pisa)

Bipolar is a disorder that can't be cured. It's probably genetic, science is unsure but know that you can inherit it from ones parents. It breaks out the first time by itself or by a stressful event, usually before 25 years old. It's treatable with medicine but with variating results unfortunately. Vincent van Gogh, Carrie Fisher, Kanye West, Pete Davidson, Kurt Cobain, Mel Gibson, Stephen Fry is a few of the celebrities with the disorder. You swing between totally manic and no impulsecontroll to deep depression, it's a scale that's different for everyone. AND, that sure is som impressiv artwork. It would be really interesting to see an exempel of art when whey are in other phases of illness.

The husband and father is a shell of a person now. I watched the trial. He was so emotionally broken, he couldn't tell his story. His brother did though, and it had me crying.

My daughter was 3 when she had it. It was neurological Lyme but doc after doc insisted she was autistic. I refused to believe it and found a specialist. Two years on two different antibiotics she was cured. She’s now 26, a linguist and has a great social life.

My son is dealing with Chronic Tick Disease. He had only vague and odd symptoms until Lyme/Tick Disease was woken up by the COVID vaccine and no we don't blame the vaccine, at lease we learned what was going on. He never had the "bullseye" rash. He's in his 28th month of treatment of which next to none of the costs are covered by insurance - the CDC doesn't believe Chronic Tick Disease is real. This stuff is horrible.

May I ask how it is treated? I had the bullseye rash and fever for a couple of weeks and doctor just gave me antibioticts for six weeks and said "We'll find out later in life if this is sufficient. If you ever get joint problems remember the tick". I hope your son can fully recover!

My husband developed lyme from a tick bite. He became horribly sick but it produced an even worse condition called trigeminal neuralgia after the lyme ate away the melanin sheath that protects the nerve in his face. It's horrific and incurable. Please take care to never get sick with this.

It can leave you ill for life. Many people who contract Lyme disease end up unable to process certain foods, mostly meat because the Lyme disease causes their bodies to stop producing the enzymes to break that food down in their stomachs. It also can cause a lifetime of arthritic-like symptoms in your joints. I know several people with both issues due to Lyme disease.

Please don't let anyone think there's any possibility that she didn't do it. The evidence wasn't "pretty damning" it was overwhelming and left absolutely no doubt in the minds of the jury that she was guilty. Maintaining her innocence is just another buzz for her, gives her the illusory feeling that she still has some power, some control.

Britain's most prolific child killer was Amelia Dyer who killed up to 400 children in her babyfarming scheme over a period of decades. The next worst was Margaret Waters who was known to have killed 19 babies. The murder of small children and babies for profit was commonplace in Victorian England and it's the reason why you can't insure the life of someone under the age of 16 in the UK even today. NB you can take out a policy for investment but the life assurance component only activates when the child is 16, death before that results in a return of premiums with interest..

    veryone, be aware there's a very worrying conspiracy theory (which was created and pushed by a Schizophrenic woman in California who a Cali court found lacked legal capacity and who lies about having a PhD from Cambridge in statistics, and a man who legally cannot enter the UK or he'll be arrested for threatening to shoot up the Letby court, and who is also on record as saying it didn't matter that the babies died because they would have been disabled anyway), with ties to/spread on far right and white supremacy websites and forums, that Letby is innocent. Both these two individuals have used dozens of hundreds of sockpuppets to promote this racially motivated conspiracy theory and they have been banned from numerous websites and forums. Their main tactic to push this conspiracy theory is to claim Letby was convicted based on "statistics." This is simply a lie. Letby wasn't convicted on statistics, there was a mountain of evidence including her confession note;

Some of the heartless comments on this single image reveal a lot of what's wrong with society in general. Humans have a tendency to either turn a blind eye to the suffering we inflict or chose to believe it's propaganda because it would force us to reevaluate the way we live our lives. And I'm not just talking about how we treat animals, but how we treat other people, too.

It is not only the slaughterhouse with the noises and smells which terrifies them. This is the last step of several horrible stages from being born onwards. Pigs and other meat animals are treated in a way no mass-meat eater would tolerate for their pets.

I have toured that facility just out side Toronto. They stun them with electricity and then bleed them out. I am pretty sure using a poisonous gas to kill any animal would ruin the meat for consumption.

You're wrong unfortunately, stunning pigs with co2 gas before slaughter is not uncommon. For some reason it is considered "humane" whatever that means. It is very likely highly uncomfortable for them feeling like they are burning up from the inside out. Undercover footage of this process has revealed pigs writhing in pain.

I have zero issue eating animals, but I do have an issue with their mistreatment before being slaughtered/harvested. At least give them enough space to move around while they're alive, and a quick death that's as painless as possible.

This was not a routine method of execution for just anybody. The British only used it for executing native soldiers ( sepoys) who were found guilty of mutiny or desertion, and even then it was generally reserved only for officers or the ringleaders. And they didn't invent it, the British got the idea from the Mughal Empire which had used it as early as the 1500s.

It's not just illegal drugs that can do this unfortunately. "Thalidomide was a widely used drug in the late 1950s and early 1960s for the treatment of nausea in pregnant women. It became apparent in the 1960s that thalidomide treatment resulted in severe birth defects in thousands of children."

What wasn't known at the time is that thalidomide comes in two stereo isomers - think of them like hands. Hands are hands right? But left hands and right hands can't be interposed. One of the "hands" of thalidomide is a safe, effective, treatment for morning sickness that is still used in some parts of the world today. The other causes birth defects. When scaling up to industrial production, they didn't realise they were making both "hands" at the same time. It's an absolute tragedy.

Thalidomide as tested in the labs was perfectly safe (left-handed molecules) but the production QC allowed right-handed molecules into the process and that is what caused the deformities.

It looks scary, but it's 100% the lighting. The wolves of Yellowstone are not as big as imagined, though. They are around 2.5 feet at the shoulder, and 5.5 feet in length without the tail, and weight 80-100 lb. Large, but not the giants that are shown on horror movies. They do, however, have massively powerful jaws. Colleagues working on wolves in the Canadian Rockies would bait traps with roadkill which was frozen solid. The wolves managed to tear apart and eat that frozen meat.

I have night terrors/hallucinations sometimes. It was happening for a while but haven’t had one for a few months now. I would see a dark figure and my mind made me think I was literally about to die if I didn’t wake up. I have never felt such fear in my life. I imagine it would be how I’d feel if I had a gun pointed at my head. I scream so hard and that brings me back to wakefulness/reality. Then I usually burst into tears and cry really hard because of the fear and adrenaline I just experienced.

Did they put you on an anti psychotic? I hate anti psychotic drugs. They give them out like candy and they seriously sedate you. I couldn't function or get out of bed for a year. I no longer take it. Quit it cold turkey. I won't ever go back unless court ordered to do so. I couldn't even stay awake long enough to watch TV. The drug helped but the price was to high to pay. I had one increase my anxiety so bad I couldn't even be in a car without being terrified and clinching on to dear life the entire time. 🙃 Horrible medication. Unless someone really needs it, it shouldn't be given. I gained so much weight from it because I quit being active and athletic. I couldn't even find the energy to shower and I normally would shower daily. I just slept. Then my doctor tells me to quit sleeping that much as she increases my doesage.

Yeah this is why whenever angels appear to people in Bible stories, pretty much the first thing that the angels say is "Don't be afraid."

    Max Fox
    Community Member

The problem is that the "description" is actually and "translation + Interpretation". In Hebrew and Aramaic, "aspect" and "face" are the same word. So when an angel is being described as having "three faces", it meant that the angel had three aspects, either superimposed, or being seen at a different time. As for wheels with "eyes", again, what was this describing? In English, we talk about the "eye of a needle". If somebody described a needle as a long sharm metal object with an eye at the end, today people would think "needle". In 1,000 years, in a world in which needles are unknown? It would be drawn as a small; staff with an actual eye at the end.

Needles go way far back in antiquity. Bone and wooden needles were being used as far back as 20,000 years, maybe longer.

Nope 😇 Remember to not believe everything you read. There is no angel in the bible described as having four arms and three heads. The "biblically accurate angel" is a meme describing these kind of wacky angels because oh boy if there isn't wacky angels. For example an angel with four heads heads, being an ox, lion, human and and eagle's head. Or why not an angel that is a great wheel full of eyes. Both from Ezekiel. But no angel like this. But it's a cool new one, I like it.

Just yesterday, I took a painting from the balcony that got a clear coat prior to masking, in order not to rip of the more sensitive kinds of paint used there, like metal colours, sparkle and so on ... and I found one little spider hat gotten trapped on it, but was alive, still. She'd grow to be about 3 cm long (body only), but had just reached like 3 mm. I removed her as gentle as I could, but still ended up amputating two of her left legs, so she now has six remaining, the two hind legs to te left being torn off. I'm sorry. I don't want to do that, I don't see why I should harm them. I like spiders, actually. I spent about 10 minutes removing her, and not amputating ALL her left legs wasn't easy ... and still, I don't know if she made it, or will make it, as she can walk of course, but walk just as good as before, she won't for a couple of growth cycles (depending on where the leg is torn off, it may be able to regrow), ... and those $&/%%s do that, deliberately and unprompted. AHs!

This one needs to be WAAY higher. My mom has Ehlers-Danlos, she's had to undergo several surgeries on various parts of her body. For years she tried to get doctors to understand what she was going through, but no one believed her, thinking she was suffering from something else and/or being dramatic bc she's a woman. My mom was finally able to get the treatment she needed when we found an EDS specialist who confirmed she has it. She's still suffering from it, but she's doing a lot better after her surgeries. I love my mom, she's a huge inspiration to me. She never gave up, because she knew there was something else going on.

Her symptoms would have been more elastic skin, translucent skin, overly flexible joints and weakening of blood vessel walls that can even lead to rupture of said blood vessels. These are not symptoms able to be faked. I'm an emt, you can tell when a patient is truly in distress versus when they're faking. This poor woman.

EDS has multiple types and a whole range of signs. So not everyone who has EDS has those exact symptoms or varying degrees. Good for you for being able to tell but a lot of doctors, especially males dismiss women who don't fit the exact thing that one textbook says

To be fair, EDS is very rare. I have Ehlers-Danilo’s Syndrome. It took me until I was 21 (from first complaining of symptoms to my mum at age 4) to get a diagnosis because EDS is rare and not many doctors even knew about it (it’s become more known in the past decade). It had many symptoms that crossover with other disorders so it often gets misdiagnosed. I too had doctors who didn’t believe me, until I found a doctor who did believe me and vowed not to give up until I had answers and a diagnosis. There’s many types of EDS, with only one type that can be diagnosed via a genetic test identifying a specific mutated gene. The other types are diagnosed via signs and symptoms, such as extremely stretchy skin or hypermobility. The most severe type of EDS is type 4, vascular EDS. Most people with type 4 die young due to an abdominal aortic aneurysm. This is the type that can be identified by a genetic test, but to obtain that, your doctor first needs to suspect you have EDS.

I read an article around Christmas about "missionaries" putting bibles in bottles and releasing them so they would end up on north koreas beaches. I thought when I read it how horrible of an idea that was due to the extreme punishments for nk citizens. The amount of danger it would put innocent people in is astounding. While being so proud and happy it do it. It's incredibly self serving and stupid to say the least.

Fat Boy Kim needs to be taken out along with his sister. I am surprised China hasn't attempted this yet and put a more stable communist leader into NK. I am sure USA would not object to that. But no...China has to keep their eye on Taiwan that is a democracy and doing well on there own. China and Russia actually want nothing to do with that broken down country. The locals were FORCED to watch the executions, and FORCED to cheer afterwards, otherwise they would be next in line. Some of the "smarter" peasant's learn how to get their portable radios to tune into SK radio stations..god forbid if ever caught! So many videos out there from defectors on youtube, Yenomi Park is one of the more famous ones...have about 200+ saved on my NK channel. If I ever became an Elon Musk or Bezos or a Gates, half my money would go towards how to free the NK people, other half to help the homelss here in the USA and animal shelters...

My partner's hand is very similar, following an accident in his teens. Same prominent tendon, same tweak in the tip of the index finger, missing the same three digits, reddened scarring. The main differences are he's had reconstructive surgery to build up a palm area; and after 40+ years of thumb-and-index doing the work of a full hand, the joints are very swollen & arthritic.

When I was a toddler, my Dad tried to unjam a corn picker without stopping the PTO on the tractor. He lost the middle three fingers on his left hand (leaving only the thumb and pinky) and nearly bled to death. The knuckles for those outer two fingers, where they connect to the palm, went too, leaving the knuckle for the middle finger as a protruding lump. He survived another 25 years or so as a successful farmer, until a heart attack from a lifetime of smoking took him.

This happened in Florida and was the fifth documented incident involving the dogs in the months leading to Pamela's death. The owner was found completely innocent because he'd realized he couldn't handle the dogs and tried to surrender them, but the local offices didn't get in touch with him. (The dogs were euthanized, but their owner didn't get so much as a slap on the wrist: even OSHA didn't find violations because the man had "made efforts" to fortify the fence all five dogs still managed to escape from and brutally kill her). So apparently, people can create untenable situations by collecting untrained dogs like baseball cards, then try to dump the problem on overworked authorities, and walk away blameless because others didn't clean up his mess before his actions had consequences.

I am a mail carrier and was bit by a small yappy dog on my leg. It didn't bleed but I had a blood blister. They told me if it broke skin I could make a complaint and the dog would have been put down. I would not have made a complaint unless it was very traumatic but now if I pull up and need to deliver a package and a dog is in the yard I honk a few times. If no one comes out then that package does not get delivered. Dogs should not be roaming with no one home anyway. I am not risking my life so someone can get a pair of socks. (Actually socks would fit in the mailbox, but you get my point.)

Obviously trained for pit fighting, which from what I know of is quite big underground in Florida. Back in the early 80's worked for a company called TFH. They specialized in pet animal books. I pilfered two that involved how to train pitbulls to fight in the pit. Of course would be banned now, but still have them. The pictures in these books (I look at them now) the size of the chains holding back these pitbulls is crazy! Like 2 inch links 1/2 inch thick! PitBulls can be the best protection and loving dog if brought up right as a puppy. BUT they are bred to fight, and if you raise your puppy that way, sadly this is the outcome! Owner should also be held responsible! Those dogs should have been chained up on super heavy chain leashes! Edit: The author to these dog fighting books is RICHARD F. Stratton I just looked him up on Google and his books are still out there. Actually I pilfered three of his books while at TFH.

Don't kill yourself using some innocent person. You will traumatised them for life if they survive. For instance, poor train and truck drivers, they can't stop and using them are so selfish. If you thinking about suicide, the only people that should be involved are the medical people that will help you get better from those destructive thoughts.

Several years ago there was this couple who wanted to die together so their house exploded. The problem is that several other houses were also affected by it. Completely destroyed to just their windows, up to a block away. Awful. 2016-06-Ho...f36543.jpg 2016-06-House-Explosion-Mississauga-65c953df36543.jpg

He had second thoughts and left his SUV before the crash. After an investigation, they found he had doused his car in gasoline to cause a catastrophe and never intended to kill himself, and he received 11 counts of murder and 1 count of arson (a life sentence). https://www.reddit.com/r/TerrifyingAsFuck/comments/1849sje/heres_the_aftermath_after_a_suicidal_man_parked/?rdt=36260&onetap_auto=true

I once captured a scorpion inside my home, and kept it in a cage for observation and hopefully desensitization. One day I noticed a bunch of little white spots on its back. Yep, babies. I watched, fascinated and horrified, as mom would pluck them off one by one and devour them. I lost all respect for her then.

While I understand that spiders and similar creatures are important to the ecosystem and pest control, I personally have limits on what I can handle. I used to live in Las Vegas, where Black Widow spiders are common. Black Widows can't kill humans, however they can cause extreme pain and muscle spasms. As such, I don't trust any spider larger than a dollar coin, and if I know it's a black widow, I will literally blowtorch it (assuming it's not on a flammable surface). Any spider that's outside or is smaller than a dollar coin, I generally leave alone.

Well one looks to be a Honda Fit, and the other a Ford Mustang. The angle on the hit was sharper on the mustang. (More toward the A/windshield pillar). There’s not many years difference in these two cars. Most cars do terrible when hit at an angle. Check the IIHS website and see the crashes.

The white car is a Skoda from communist Era. Eastern Europe cars were terrible, like Lada, FSO. Some were imported in France, it is said most have to be totally rebuilt by Chardonnet, the importator. Engines were often stolen on the train they were loaded on their way to Western Europe, mostly in Poland

As a truck driver. People please. Our trucks are not your lotto ticket or a ticket to the next life. There are people driving those trucks, most of us are horrified at the thought of harming someone else. Most of us would flip our trucks and risk our own lives to keep from harming you. If you wouldn't smash into another car on purpose, don't hit a truck.

One time, my husband and I were witnesses to one truck going down the mountain and losing its brakes, another truck behind us, made aware of that, passed us in a double lines, going further in front of the other truck, gently putting its own brakes and having the no-brake truck kissing his behind and hold on to it until the end at the bottom - a whole 10 minutes - and saving the truck in question and the people living in a house at the end of that road, right in front of it. Everyone was crying. I was pregnant, I was definitely crying. That was in the 1980s. Kudos to truck drivers!

Nooo! Suicide is tragic and horrible, that they couldn't get (or asked for) help to change their mind. But bluntly put, let your last act on earth be a considerate one and don't involve other innocent people. It's so selfish. You die and somebody else live on with trauma, injuries and maybe death. By making someone else involved you can destroy their life completely. I know it sounds harsh as heck to write that, you should always get help of course. Family members and friends should also not blame themselfs for not picking up on clues before the tragedy. But don't try to take other people with you.

I have a similar photo at my parents' house of my grandma's totaled car that looks like this one, maybe even worse. A truck swiped them on the highway, she was in the car with her sister (my great aunt) and I believe someone else was with them. All three walked away from the accident and got a hefty reimbursement for the damages. That was back in the 80s

This is fictional. Terratomas (a benign tumor) can have teeth, but they do not look like that!!!

My husband had a basal cell lesion he let go for at least 15 years. It was on the back side of his neck. About 3"x4". When he finally got the nerve to deal with it, it was much worse had he just had it burned off when it was the size of a pimple. Basal cell isn't generally metastatic, but his did. It was in several lymph nodes. Luckily they didn't rupture. He did have to have a tissue graft to his neck from his leg and 30 rounds of radiation. Long story short, get checked and address issues quickly

This is what killed my father. The "tentacles" grew into his brain and even with surgery they couldn't remove the entire tumor. All because he would forget to wear sunscreen. I NEVER go outside without it now.

Metallicas video for the song one used clips from this and it is one of my favorite videos ever. I used to watch reaction videos to this song but I cannot do that because only like…maybe two people actually paid attention and understood what was going on

I think it's because a lot of people prioritize "quantity" of life over "quality". Or just a fear of death.

Metallica's "One" is based on this, and the music video uses footage from the film.

this was a heart-wrenching film. majority of the film is him basically talking to himself and trying to get someone - anyone - to realize that he is not in a coma, not brain damaged but totally aware of what has happened to him. i won't tell the end of the movie but will share that he finally gets attention when someone realizes he is tapping his head against the pillow in morse code.

To add to others notes. Metallica wrote the song before seeing the film, Hetfield had read the book and wrote the lyrics / song during the recording of the album and tour before …AJFA was recorded. When it came time to make the video they were unhappy with the footage, that’s when they cut up more of the film and the audio from it and created the One video. Instead of asking for the permissions required to use the film clips they bought the rights to the whole film, that simplified the process massively and meant they could use everything they wanted.

It's been a while since I read the book, but as I recall no one knew he was aware of his surroundings at all. He was kept clean, fed, and alive just as coma patients are today.

“Landmine has taken my sight, taken my speech, taken my hearing, taken my arms, taken my legs, taken my soul, left me with a life in hell.” - One by Metallica. I highly recommend this song and especially the video, even if you’re not a heavy music fan (though this song isn’t very heavy) because it’ll move you.

Wolf spiders are great moms, hence those babies on her back. Spiders in general are so misunderstood, they are wonderful to have around because they eat lots of pest insects, like aphids, mosquitos & flies. Mother Nature knows what she's doing

I remember reading about this, it was so sad. Basically paramedics attended a villa where a woman was "disoriented and unresponsive" (Shanquella) and were told by her friends that she was drunk. The friends insisted she be treated at the villa for alcohol poisoning rather than taken directly to hospital so the medics tried to insert an IV, at which point Shanquella had a tonic clonic seizure and suffered a cardiac arrest, passing away despite CPR attempts. Medics and later police at the scene claimed there was no signs of any external injury and fobbed it off as her dying of alcohol poisoning. The coroner's report eventually showed a severe spinal cord injury had caused her death. The friends tried to say they had no idea what happened, until a video was leaked of this poor woman naked being viciously beaten by said friend. It was absolutely harrowing to watch.

As of Dec 2023 his death is still under investigation and has not been conclusively linked to eating the chip. Correlation does not equal causation, and there may have been other factors involved.

I looked it up, and it was not proven that the chip caused his death. It just was the last thing he ate. The autopsy didn't prove it was linked to the chip. Just more sensationalism.

Sorry. But that's a real disappointment. I had always hoped for werewolves to be more dog-like. Sort of like German shepherds, but less interested in playing with 'b a l l', or going in 'c a r'. Also. with this rendition, I feel creepy that I might see his lipstick.
