Unfortunately I have never escaped :/ My dad had an accident when I was 18 and sustained catastrophic brain damage. I stayed living at home for the next 21 years to help take care of him. I worked for the family business as well during that time. My dad died in 2021 and I found myself 39 years old with no career, no degree, no friends, no family of my own. I lived with my boyfriend for 3 years (we were together 24 years total) but I ended up moving back home a year ago. I live next door to my childhood home (where my mother and sister live.) Unfortunately, my mother is still a cruel narcissist at 82 years old. The good thing is that she'll never lay a hand on me ever again, but the verbal and emotional ábuse never stopped. It's my birthday tomorrow (the 22nd) and my mom and sister went to a local casino this weekend. Even little things like that hurt. It súcks, but I'm stuck back at home for now. I have my pets though, so I'm overall okay :)

I'm guessing the "joke" is that OP is trying to describe kooky/weird/strange kids that "everyone" had at their public-school high school, but OP's boyfriend, who went to a private school, had none of these eccentric stereotypes at his school, and that's why he is confused. Caveat: my mom forced me out of public school after 7th grade (age 12-13) and made me start college when I was 14, so I never went to high school myself XD But I've heard stories, and ...yeah, there are apparently ALWAYS quirky/weird stereotyped kids...

I think global warming/climate change was caused by the burning of fossil fuels for energy, transportation, and industry waaaay back, starting during the Industrial Revolution in the 1800s. It wasn't caused by AI usage or iPhones. You're 100% correct that every generation is a bunch of consumers consuming and wasting, but the current generations and their codependence on text isn't what caused climate change, which is what this meme is poking fun at.
