You dont know ANY stay at home moms?? I'm 38, my mom was a stay at home mom who raised my sister and I while my dad worked. Most of my town had this same situation and now most of them are retired just like my mom and step dad. My dad and his new wife still work 4 themselves but thats cuz they love it and my dad is a workaholic even at 74 he wont stop. He also does 30 mile bike rides all the time. He is way more fit than I ever was even when I was 14 yrs old and he was like almost 50 lol. My parents had me at 35 and my sister at 40 but I'm so glad they are still alive cuz I'm disabled and really need their help badly. Id be dead without them so I'm kind of against having a kid at 50. Youre guaranteeing ur child will lose u at a young age which is cruel I think. Anything 44 and under should really be it. Yea people die in car accidents but thats why you have TWO parents so hopefully u at least get to keep ONE til ur 40 & you dont wanna guarantee they'll be orphans by 30 or less

I'm confused..it says she adopted the girl but then shows her in a photo with a hospital bracelet, in a hospital bed wearing a hospital gown holding a newborn. So she obviously gave birth to this kid! What?? Why did the article say the kid was adopted? I'm so confused

If this family, esp the dad doesnt get some SERIOUS therapy & professional advice on how to treat his daughter and deal with the situation, that little girl is headed straight 4 drugs, a stripper pole & most likely a score of mental illness. This coming from someone who had only mild father issues & a wonderful mother but I still ended up with mental health issues, substance abuse issues etc. I cant even begin to imagine how much damage thisfather is doing to her poor mind by using her as a guilt tool and messing with her sense of identity and who her mother really is. This little girl is gonna have abandonment issues up the wazoo + god knos wat other kinds of irreparable probs if professional help is not acquired soon! He should find a support group 4 single dad's of very young kids or any kind of professional help if he cant bring himself 2 go 2 therapy. If he cares AT ALL about his kid he would. He seems like a TRASH father! How can she say hes a great dad!?

Most people cant afford that, esp a single father who is probably paying alimony and child support, as he should be. Nannys make more money per year than I do lol I know cuz I used to be one and I made 16 ph in 2003 without paying any taxes so that was all take home. In my area a full time nanny now makes about 20-25 per hr.

Lol you clearly dont live in a state like NJ where the issue is usually getting a spot at all, not whether you get one thats close. Or the lot is absolutely huge like 3 football fields and walking will actually kill you especially if youre wearing heels or are out of shape or overweight or over 65 etc. There are a ton of people in our population who have trouble walking from the back of a parking lot to the front. I'm onnly 38 and I used to work 14 HR shifts on my feet as a server but once I quit and got really depressed and was laying around for a yr cuz of covid, my back cant handle me standing up for more than a few minutes at a time and walking that far is painful now. And even when I used to walk 11 miles a day a few yrs ago, if I was wearing any kind of fancy shoes or even low heels then forget it, someone would have to carry me lol. Try putting on a pair of stilletos and walking just 30 feet. I dare you.

You're right. Retirement is simply not a possibility for most people anymore. Which is why a lot of media has been trying to spin the idea that Americans will be working until they die as a good thing... because our media is owned and operated by the lazy billionaires who profit off of the increasingly lower wages and longer hours of regular workers. You can thank Musk, Bezos, Buffet, and Gates for that.

That average is true, as far as numbers go, but that number also includes deaths at birth and drug overdoses. Assuming this person is considerably healthy and not an addict, their odds are good they'll be on the high end of the graph.

That would probably be beneficial, but I don't think she's really missing a mother figure at this age. If he was truly a great father then I doubt she would be going out of her way to find herself a mommy, I don't think it's a concept she's grasped quite yet (the plot of "Look who's talking" notwithstanding). I don't know much about kids so feel free to correct me, but the girl barely knows the OP, it seems like her dad should be her whole world at this point. I think he's been at least encouraging this.

I cannot express enough how sick this makes me. I understand that you feel bad for the kid, we all do I'd say. She is a true victim here but not your victim, HIS victim. He needs to be very clear that you're not her mother and reinforce this gently and lovingly. He is an absolute sicko. "I know I screwed another woman and had a kid with her and completely ruined our family and lives......., buuuuut, please play mom...," I mean honestly WTF. He is an a*****e.

Simple solution is that the pick up and drop off of your biological children shouldn't be done in the presence of the affair baby. Neither you or the child should be subjected to such emotional manipulation when the situation is so easily avoidable.

So what's the plan when the father gets involved in a new relationship? Does the child have to relearn who her "mother" is after being trained to think of the OP as her mom? If this guy's thinking about the impact on the girl at all, it's extremely short sighted.

Poor little tyke... that being said absolutely NTA. This guy has some big brass balls asking this of his ex wife. I wonder if there is a program the ex-husband can get his daughter involved in that will help provide her with a strong female role model. Something akin to the big brothers/big sisters group.

Not neccessarily. Those manufacturers just want to make sure the belts dont get lost and they know that people generally tie them in the front so they have no choice but to sew them on in the back. It doesn't mean that's definitly the correct way to do it. They are more worried about keeping the belt with the robe and I clearly cant sew it on the front so...

Yes I love upcycling. My step dad always wraps up each piece of pizza individually with foil after we are done eating (it's delivery) and I hate that so when I'm done eating a piece I wipe it off and save the foil for other stuff. Usually it ends up inside my bowl for smoking pot since I broke the glass in there months ago and I refuse to buy a new 1 when putting some foil in every few days works just fine!

What?? When was monicas hair staticy? Oh wait r u talking about when her hair frizzed up from moisture? Thats actually the OPPOSITE problem. That's NOT static, that's frizz, so I hope you were just kidding. But yes other than using spray in conditioner, if this works I'll be so happy cuz then I'll finally be able to brush my long haired dog in winter without constantly shocking myself or having her fur stick to my hands and the brush the whole time. Its hard enough since she cant stand being brushed no matter how gentle I am

Huh? Ive been microwave popping popcorn for over 30 yrs and I used to HATE having kernels so I'd stnad there and try everything I could to make less kernels but nothing works. You cant prevent microwave kernals. There will ALWAYS be a bunch of them that refuse to pop even if you burn some of the popcorn in the process...which I often did cuz I'll eat slightly burned popcorn. How on earth did u get NO kernals unpoped? I dont believe you. Its not possible.

To be fair I dont think I've even met anyone who knows this. I (secretly) live in my parents 55+ community cuz covid ruined me financially/mentally and I've seen them and all their friends come over and use the microwave to heat up their tea or wat not and I'm dead sure ive never seen anyone put their cups on the edge of the microwave plate lol
