The internet as we know it began in the ’90s. Sure, it was slow, hello, dial-up tone but it was revolutionary. AOL chat rooms, MSN Messenger, and those first shaky webcam calls were thrilling innovations. It was the start of the digital age we can’t live without today.
The ’90s had a unique vibe, blending simplicity with innovation. Families spent time together watching VHS tapes or playing board games, and life moved at a pace that allowed for real connection. It was a time of discovery, experimentation, and a lot of heart.

Ah, but Splinter started off as human. He became rat-like because the ooze transforms creatures to be more like whatever they spent most of their time with, and Splinter was living in the sewer with rats. The Turtles were turtles who spent their time with a human, so they became more human-like.

I remember playing the game and my dad walked by while I was playing. He watched me run over several pedestrians while fleeing from police pursuit. He was silent for a few moments, and then said, "Crystal, you know you can't do that kind of stuff in real life, right?" I replied, "Yes, Dad," XD My dad also answered all the "age test" questions for me in the original Leisure Suit Larry games so I could play on the "raunchiest" setting, so... my dad was pretty cool.

We had an arcade near my house called Nickel Nickel, because that's what it cost to play the games - a nickel. I used to ride my bike there during the summers during my teenage years and basically spend ALL day there. I got really good at quite a few of the games - for example Mortal Kombat, Marvel vs. Capcom, K!ller Instinct, Crazy Taxi, and this one weird game where you drive around in a Jeep and lasso animals called "Jambo! Safari" XD I was definitely the odd one out there most of the time (especially in that era) because I was a girl - it was less socially acceptable for girls to play video games back then. I definitely do not have the reflexes and reaction time I used to have back then XD

I live in the US and never tasted proper UK chocolate until my sister joined a singing/dancing group that went on tour to the UK. She brought home some Cadbury, Aero, and Galaxy bars. My mind was blown. I had never had better chocolate in my life. We have some nice candies here in the US, but our chocolate doesn't hold a candle to British chocolate.
