50 Times Teachers And Professors Acted So Wholesomely, Their Students Just Had To Share The Pics (New Pics)
Interview With ExpertWhile the definition of a good teacher varies from person to person, we can’t deny that those who are have a funny way of remaining in our memories, even after many years. I bet that even reading this sentence made you think of a figure that made the ticking seconds at school much more bearable.
To pay homage and show their hard work doesn’t go unnoticed, Bored Panda has collected some of their most wholesome and heartwarming moments. From gifting plants to drawing cats of the day, these special gestures make students appreciate them even more.
While you’re busy admiring these awesome teachers, don’t forget to check out a conversation with Bryan Davis, a former teacher and life coach, and Dr. Sonaleena Patnaik Lowry, an educational consultant, who kindly agreed to elaborate on what it means to be a good pedagogue and how we can support them.

Teachers Are So Much More Than Just Educators
I had a professor I swear would've said "Gooood, your pain gives me great pleasure."
Dancing is a great way to have fun. Myself and my husband have regular dance offs. He was so determined to win he danced into my clothes horse and flattened it 🙂
Now that's a teacher, parent, mentor and friend. We hear to much negative stuff about people in authority, safeguarding our kids. Never enough about the amazing ones, who do it just because they genuinely love those they mentor ❤
Treat Everyone With Respect And Care
You're no nurse or no doctor if you don't want to treat people due to their lifestyle...
I agree but could you please stop referring to my sexuality as a lifestyle? A lifestyle is a choice to live a certain way. I didn't choose my sexuality any more than I chose my eye colour, it was never a choice.
Load More Replies...The question should be, who has made you feel uncomfortable with LGBT? What hate have you been fed to make you ask that question?
Get answers to those questions. Get past that bigoted nonsense. Then - and only then - start learning to be a doctor.
Load More Replies...Break it down, a life style implies a style that you’ve set thus you had a choice over it. No one f*****g chooses to be gay
The purpose of medicine is the patient's comfort, not the doctor's.
I'm a therapist and I had the same interaction while in school. We were talking about LGBT clients and someone said they would tell the pt they didn't feel comfortable working with them and refer them out. The professor said that he needed to maybe do something else then if he felt that way.
this should be higher. can't understand how someone (pharmacist, nurse, doctor etc) denies another person proper care because it's against their own personal beliefs. also don't understand why they're not FIRED ON THE SPOT for literally refusing to do their job!
Spot on. If they want to deal with helping people, be a Doc. If they want to deal with "lifestyles", go into advertising (or the health food industry).
"Lifestyle." I'm sure people like that would feel okay not being treated because they're Christian or whatever, which is ACTUALLY a lifestyle.
A Girl In My Geography Class Had To Bring Her Newborn To Class Today. The Baby Started Crying In The Middle Of Our Quiz
When she took him out to hold him, my professor insisted that he wouldn't mind feeding the baby and rocking his car seat until she was done. This is my so awesome, sweet professor, on his knees.
According to research, teachers impact over 3,000 students throughout their careers. 83% of pupils say that they helped improve their confidence and self-esteem. A similar number of learners report having an educator who encouraged them to follow their dreams, while over half say they received help from them during a difficult time.
Such numbers tell us that many people dedicate themselves to leaving a positive impact on the minds of our young generation. And we’re very grateful for it. To learn more about what it means to be a good teacher and how we can better support their good work, Bored Panda reached out to Bryan Davis, a former teacher and a life coach from Mentally39.com. We also contacted Dr. Sonaleena Patnaik Lowry, an educational consultant who has experience with projects for school districts and teaching.
Davis tells us, “Good teachers know their students, they learn their background, they know their home life and learning style. Students will remember the teacher who made them feel safe, cared about them, and made learning fun.”
Hannah's Class Has A Zoom Session Each Evening. Last Night She Got Really Sad And Kind Of Shut Down. Today Her Teacher Came Over And Hung Out For A Bit
They chatted, read books, and just talked. This woman has five kids at home and still, she sat in my driveway for an hour to make sure Hannah was okay.

Oh my god I’ll never be able to pay attention in the class!! In a good way that is! Once a lecturer of mine brought his lab into the classroom towards the end of what was a practical course and it was instant chaos with all the students going crazy running behind the dog and petting her. The lecturer had to call his wife to come and take the lab home because he couldn’t control the chaos 😅

My daughters primary school headteacher has a black lab in his office and it roams the school. She is the nicest friendliest dog and you would not believe how many kids lives have been made better through her! Very clever and works!
Lovin’ that a school allows a teacher to bring his beloved pet!
Be Kind. Be Compassionate. Be Human
It is terrible to lose someone. Depending on the connection you had with them, you never really get over it but the first few weeks are horrible. Asking for a 24h extension is already insane to me that you have the core strength to still do your work even if you're not feeling great. Other students choose to not do their assignments or do then very poorly/last minute just because they were lazy, and you as a professor to not be able to tell the difference between that and someone who is genuinely trying despite everything is extremely pathetic.
My dad was diagnosed with cancer halfway through my last semester at grad school. Each professor replied to my emails essentially the same way: whatever accomodations you need, I'll make it.
My mom didn't die, but she recently had a serious mental health crisis. I'm a freelance writer. I emailed one of my clients to ask for an extra day on an assignment. He told me that he wouldn't give me one day, he would give me as long as I needed. I'll never forget it.
I don't know what you are studying with Prof #1 - but I would suggest ditching that class. Whatever it is, it isn't being taught with any heart or care. If its essential - pick it up later with hopefully, a decent human being as tutor. I am so very sorry for your loss.
Prof #2 has a heart...Prof #1--not so much. I am sorry about you losing your Mom. You know hoave your own guardian angel and may she send more Prof #2's your way!
Only a 12-hour extension? Professor 1 should hold her/his in shame for that wrong move!
Load More Replies...Dr. Lowry’s take on this matter is very similar. She says, “There are many different areas that teachers make an impact on in the growth of their students, such as social- emotionally, academically, motivation, helping students set high goals, providing them with support academically and emotionally, believing that their students are capable of learning and creating a positive classroom environment for students.
Teachers who have a positive impact on students have evidence of supporting students to be successful academically, social-emotionally, and also in student goal-setting and motivation.”
That's Beautiful

It's missing "Dear Male Students - You can show your full emotions and you don't have to be a jock. You are loved."

Teacher's Homework Policy
My dad (high school maths) always did it this way. Homework doesn’t make someone understand if they didn’t already, and chasing up on it wasted time.
It did for me. Sometimes teachers don’t explain things will or rowdy kids distract the class. Being able to read, rewrite and apply on my own saved me from that.

Load More Replies...My daughter's school has moved toward this. She has not had homework for the last 3 years (third, fourth, and fifth grades) and before that was the pandemic. It's been wonderful.
Kids are already in school 8 hours a day. No reason to keep them working even an extra hour or two when they get home. I think it normalizes overworking and not keeping a balance between work and personal life. It's much better for families to spend time together.
I view it as kids learn the materials in school and then they do the homework for the teachers to make sure they know it and then if they turn it in incorrectly then they get sent to student support. If it takes you two hours to do the work, then it’s still important to do the work, there’s six hours at school to learn how to do it. This is just what I think though
Load More Replies...They knew this in the 1960s, I wonder why so many have forgot. Better classwork, no homework!
I'm going into elementary education and am planning on taking this approach
My Daughter's Teacher Is Undergoing Chemo. This Was Their First Art Class This Year
I'm so appreciative of how hard this woman works to teach her students about more than just academics. She is a strong and beautiful person (whose permission I requested before posting).
Indeed, just like adults, young personalities need positivity, security, a sense of belonging, and even some fun. It’s important that these requirements are met, as it helps learners progress and have a positive attitude towards learning. Often, teachers achieve this by showing respect for everyone, fostering a sense of community, and celebrating successes.
Being able to engage students with humor and creativity is also a significant part of what makes someone a good teacher. Whether it’s sharing a video, a song, or a movie, or using technology and taking an imaginative approach, children appreciate the extra effort. A teacher dressed in a period costume surely makes history more interesting, while a nature hike can make learning biology more memorable.

I've always loved tuk tuks and this is combining them and books?! Amazing
Even though about 66% of teachers are satisfied with their job, half of them still reported not feeling a great deal of support or encouragement. Davis explains this by saying, ”There is a huge mental strain on teachers. Many people are leaving because of the stress, workload, and unreal expectations set by politicians who do not have a clue what teaching involves. All of it leads to mental and physical health issues.”
The Highlight Of My Day Was My Teacher Bringing His Cat To School. Everytime He Asked The Class A Question, His Cat Would Meow, And He Would Accept It As An Answer
Every cat owner knows that when your cat meows in response to your question, you accept their answer!
When did Robin WIlliams come back to life and start teaching?
What do you do if the cat's 'meow' gives you more information than you asked for?
It occurred to me, that this teacher was also teaching his pupils to answer even if they were not sure they knew the right one.
It should be mandatory to have animals at school! There's just something about them that makes you feel better.
Always Have Compassion
I had a math teacher in 8th grade that would throw erasers or bang something when the some kids fell asleep. I fell asleep once, because working, school, home life, he didn't wake me up. When I woke up the kids asked why he didn't wake me up, "Because she does her work when she's awake."
I was that student who never slept during class. I was sick one day and my mom had given me cold medicine before school. I dosed off by accident and my teacher walked by and woke me up and scolded me. My desk neighbor who always slept spoke up for me and told the teacher to leave me alone and I’m obviously sick or something since I never sleep. Thank you, Michael Jackson. Go Cougars!
I never understood why teachers would get mad or wake up a student who is sleeping. In most cases something IS going going on. I would first try to ask the student after class what's going on rather than draw attention to him from the entire class and make fun of him as most teachers do. It is insane to me. I would understand if the student was partying all night then slept in classes. That's just irresponsible. But there are so many other reasons for which a student might fall asleep in class. Extremely likely, something has happened. Don't be a d**k
I am working during my college.. Regularly I am working night shift then goes to college on morning. Very often I slept on the bus to my university, and still drowsy during lecture. But most my lecturer actually can understand me, because usually I have read their module during my night shift so I never has problem with my scores.

Load More Replies...Dr. Lowry notes that the area lacking support the most is collaboration between pedagogues. Luckily, she was able to work with some schools and include them in her Professional Learning Network (PLN), which gave them the opportunity to reach out to teachers from school districts other than their own.
She shares, “Many teachers felt supported and uplifted in their teaching practices. Schools that I'm currently working with are meeting with teachers from the schools that their students will promote, such as collaboration between elementary school teachers, middle school teachers, and high school teachers. These teachers are in the same school community, and they collaborate to ensure that each of them is providing the necessary support for students as they move through the school system.”

My high school, school nurse, Mrs. Grant. She is still one of, if not, the nicest, loving, caring and compassionate person I have ever been blessed to have in my life. I started suffering from migraines, not too long before I started high school and I'm so grateful that she was there for me and so supportive and caring. I would hate when she wasn't there and we had some substitute nurse, if I had a migraine coming on. They would assume I was just trying to get out of class and give me a tylenol or advil, send me back to class with my "little headache." The particular sub nurse that mocked me, was never at my school again, after Mrs. Grant returned and I told her what happened. I also had a note put into my file, explaining the severe migraines I would get. She is truly is an amazing woman. 🩷🫶

Then they get to give the younger kids the monsters they designed. Everyone involved walks away with huge smiles on delivery day.

Additionally, most educators propose hiring more counselors and school psychologists. They provide more support for students, which simultaneously lightens the workload of teachers. In addition, counselors can aid in creating a more positive school environment by teaching about social-emotional awareness and being one more trusted adult for students to rely on.

We, as students and parents, can also express our support for teachers in various ways. Davis suggests voting for politicians who place high importance on education, as teacher pay is so far behind.
He then proposes, “Read with your child, encourage reading, encourage learning, and work towards what you want.” He also encourages people to talk more publicly about the good things the pedagogues and students are accomplishing. “Teachers genuinely care about your kids' education, and we care about their well-being,” Davids adds.

Well I can certainly spot someone who will be fawning over them.Hopefully the teacher nose what they're doe-ing and has plenty of time to hoof it back to class ,especially if they want to bleat rush hour.
I'm going to be a bit of a Debbie Downer here. Fawns should not be taken in by untrained humans. Chances are, a quiet fawn found alone is absolutely fine. Apparently after an incident on the grounds traumatized some students, one teacher told her class that if an animal is friendly enough for them to catch, to bring it to her class (mobile classroom, so not attached to the building and easy to sneak things in). One day my dog escaped and ran off too fast. About an hour later, with me roaming the neighborhood looking, I got a call that I could pick her up by going directly to the classroom. A similar story but a different ending... I was "brave enough" to show my high school English teacher a little something I had written for myself. I enjoyed writing but never thought I could be good enough... she ripped it apart and told me nothing positive. I've never written anything (for myself) ever again. The happy ending? I became a special education teacher so I could support students and what they want to be... and to never, ever be that teacher. Teachers, like above, your words can do ill or good... be that good.

This Year, I Had No Money For Costumes. This Is What He Was Wearing When I Picked Him Up From School. Bless These People And What They Do For Their Students
That Is So Sweet
This is so sweet. I think a lot of students take their teachers for granted (not their fault, they’re young) and don’t always realize until they’re adults how important teachers can be. My grade 4 teacher showed up at my graduation with cards for all the students she used to teach, and she wrote memories about each of us. I couldn’t believe she remembered me :) it meant a lot
My Partner Struggled With Traditional School His Whole Life, So Switched To A Trade Program Last Year. Today, He Got This Message From His Professor
I love this because so much is made of academia throughout school but it just isn't for everyone. My boyfriend didn't do well academically but is clearly very bright. He just (at the age of 39) finished a vocational qualification (HNC) in electrical engineering with a first. So proud.

Just a warning for anyone choosing to go with renting digital versions of textbooks...if the textbook comes with codes to access extra content, those codes only work for the first user/renter. After that they are invalid in most cases, so check on this before renting.
Good advice, Cat Chat! You can buy just the codes, I understand.

Kids Are Developing Humans
Highly doubt parents were "shocked" in this day and age - but I see it's before Covid so, maybe at that time.
I agree. The will rather complain about the other teachers not following this method.
Load More Replies...Mixed feeling about this. 5th grade is young, so probably fine, but we have to remember that students are here to learn more than math and science. They learn how to navigate life. Life doesn't always let you redo things or turn them in whenever. There should be some boundaries for sure.
If they retake it (especially numerous times), they just memorize the correct answers from the discussion/grading of said test. I don't see the learning benefit here.
In my experience, usually if retakes are allowed the test isn't the same exact test, just a test on the same concepts/materials. So, for math, you'd retest on problems with the same concepts not the same exact problems. Teachers are trying to make sure kiddos are learning the concepts/information. This means if a student fails a test, the teacher knows then that the student needs more support to learn the material or concept. Once they demonstrate knowledge they can retake the test.

Classroom's "Care Cart"
My classroom "Care Cart" has changed and evolved over time. I saw a TikTok video about teachers' "Care Closets" and knew my students needed one too. With community donations and my school's support, I continue to provide my students with extra resources throughout the school day. Spread kindness.
It's so sad that this is the TEACHER who has to do this from their own salary - and not the parents or the state/city itself who provide the resources (I understand that parents are not always able to do that, but the state/city that the school is in should!)
Public schools don't get enough credit for providing 2, sometimes 3 meals per day for students in need. I'm sorry for the politics but please know only Republican politicians try to harm such programs. Only Republicans. Ever. Plain fact.

One of my students did a geometry proof in an original and efficient way, and I wrote "Clever!" across the bottom of it. Twenty years later, she wrote me and told me how she reminded herself of that one word when she needed to get her confidence up.
This post is so inspiring! These teachers aren't just great educators, they are wonderful people who make a difference in the lives of their students, who have an impact that can turn lives around and last a lifetime! More like this, please (more teachers like this, and more posts like this, too)!
I have dyslexia, so for all four years of high school, I had one period in special education. I was a middle of the road student, and it was entirely for supporting my learning difficulties. My teacher those four years was Toni Ambrosio. That woman meant the world to me, and made such a huge difference in my life. She got pregnant one year, and I went out and bought her a tub of chocolate ice cream and a jar of pickles as a gag gift. She loved it and saw the humor in it in a way only someone how really got their student could.
Teaching is so stressful but working with the kids and getting to know them/talk to them one on one is my favorite part of teaching. When I was in high school I had no friends, had a very dysfunctional home life, and would go an entire day without really talking to anyone. Now I try to talk to all of my students at least one per day, even if it's just to greet them when they walk into class, or say bye when they leave class.
