Could it be that these funny and engaging pictures that we see scrolling through our phones have deeper outcomes than just making us smile for a couple of minutes? According to the research that was conducted by American Psychological Association, people who, in this case, “consumed” memes during the pandemic, especially on this topic, were coping with the situation better than those who decided to use different types of media.
How do we find memes helpful instead of, perhaps, a distraction? One factor is that very often, memes are found to be relatable in one way or another. For example, when COVID-19 touched each and every one of us in slightly different ways, we found comfort in understanding that we are not alone in this. When facing this unprecedented situation and being frightened by the news every day, memes work as a coping mechanism that eases the stress and minimizes the fear of the unknown.
That’s not besides the point. Besides the point would be me telling you what I ate for breakfast this fine morn (it was an apple, not that anyone cares)

Absolutely agree! The affectionate energy behind this is healing on a bad day, especially!!
Load More Replies...I hate that this kindness has been taken away from us in great part by people who are offended by the kindness offered. When we look at people's intentions, we can see their kindness aren't attacks. I miss hearing these endearments scattered here and there to brighten my days, personally.
This was me at a Waffle House a long time ago when I was having a bad time and my mom was far away. The waitress kept calling me "honey" and "sugar" and I just about nearly cried, it was so needed.
There's just something more disarming about an elderly woman offering a shoulder to lean on. I'm proud to be one myself, and yes- to perfect strangers.
They usually call me that right before asking me to grab an item off the top shelf 😂
I'm guilty of that, too, Darlin'. But I always mean it.

I'm 74.. Only hubby calls me sweet names, and I don't call anyone other than him honey, and I'll call you respectfully by your name. 😁👍
I had this happen to me when I was crying in a public restroom. A stranger's hug was exactly what I needed that day.
Reminds me of my small child crawling in my bed early in the morning and begging for cuddles.
Can’t relate, f ing hate it when people call me honey/sweetheart. Once my mom was just talking to me and she just said something like, man, dot dot dot I don’t know what she said but closeted demigirl me was loving it
Why? Please explain to me because nobody else has ever been able to give me a good reason that something meant as a term of endearment is offensive.

I'm reminded of Rolo, an English dachshund, who was so happy his people were staying home for quarantine that he sprained his tail by wagging it too much.
That feeling when your wonderfulness is so secret only toads have heard of it
The top 30 are the best. I usually recommend scrolling past the cut off, but not on this list. Too cutesy. I loved the top ones though.
Bouche is happily killing her toy mice and climbing up (only) the furniture she's not allowed to be on.
