People Are Sharing Hilarious Pics Of Their Pets Sitting Like Total Weirdos In This Thread (30 Pics)
Imagine walking into a room only to see your pooch sittin’ upright like a hooman. Your reaction? Well, one owner named Brittany put it this way: “My dog is a weirdo bro.” She posted the caption with a hilarious pic on Twitter and it went viral with a whopping 1.2M likes and 192K retweets.
It soon turned out that Brittany is not the only parent whose beloved doggo acts like he ain’t one. Apparently, sitting like a human with an uncanny resemblance is a trick many dogs do. The motif remains unknown, but it doesn’t make the sight any less hilarious. "Man tell him to pay the bills that ain't no dog,” said one caption. So, let’s take a look at the viral Twitter thread of dogs being weird, aka acting hooman and loving it.

$20 bucks says the dog was there before the boyfriend and the dog is making sure he knows that.
I just adore this picture of this handsome dog. He looks like he is saying "Hey! Do ya mind, I'm watching this.
He knows he's a weirdo...a FABULOUS Weirdo though. Look at that face
Extremely English drawing room posture. He's just waiting for Jeeves to serve tea.
It's so adorable though! Like he's trying to be a well behaved proper boy! Lol
And that face... are you put him on a time out... I'll join him... He's a keeper
Bored Panda spoke with Tamsin, the mom of the dog named Rhubarb in the image above, about the hilarious moment she spotted her sitting like a human.
“It was in the morning, my partner and I have been working from home and we put on the TV in the background whilst we work, and we looked up,” recounted Tamsin, “and noticed her sitting upright on the sofa watching the program with us.” Tamsin thought it was absolutely hilarious, especially as her Cavapoo dog was only 4 months old at the time. “It was such funny behavior for a puppy.”
And it’s not the only human-like thing Rhubarb does. “She loves watching TV, she often groans if you do something she doesn't agree with, which is quite funny, and she loves to stand on two feet.” Yep, not only does she sit like a hooman, she walks like one too.
Tamsin isn’t sure where this behavior is coming from, but she guesses “with all of us being at home during lockdown, our dogs are picking up on people behaviors.”
Look at the size of his feet! OK, THIS one is my favorite so far (& the 1st one).
Pardon me, do you happen to have any "Grey Poupon" ? Probably only people who grew up in the 80's will remember this reference.
It may be, they watch us and think, they should be the same !!!
My British bulldog sits exactly like that, staring at me while I drive but she farts continuously, slowly and loudly against the leather
Your dog probably needs a different diet. It isn’t necessarily caused by a problem with the quality but your dog may not get on with one of the ingredients.
Load More Replies...Centuries of watching us they are now starting to mimic us. They see that it gives us a joyful response which encourages them to keep doing it. Soon they will take us over!
The look being given is one of, "do you mind, I watching my program"!
Oh, I laughed out loud, the sit and look, just too much, I will never forget the face, priceless !!!
When it comes to dogs, the reason for most of their behavioral quirks remains unknown. But Wag Walking blog on pets suggests that some dogs “have grown to develop an anatomical preference for sitting in different positions, especially those with long hind legs and top-heavy bodies.”
And even if this human-like posture doesn’t look particularly comfy for the dog, it may offer “some relief to hip or back stress, typically by supporting the lumbar region and centering the weight of a dog’s chest over the rest of the body.”
Another possible explanation is that by sitting upright, dogs stand at a higher vantage point and show signs of dominance.
I was thinking the same thing! Tucked-in front legs and weird body contortions are sooo typical. At the very least he must have cat-like joints.
Load More Replies...I'll be doing this act on America's Got Talent next week. I'm contortionist!
In the patio, what's missing is a cup of tea on a saucer.
Load More Replies...I wonder if they have arthritis, I have to stretch my legs to be comfortable
Leia is a pretty girl, and different, the spread does not look comfortable !!!
This dog be like: People think I am going crazy. Jokes on them. Went there years ago, loved the place, and decided to stay.
Yo!!! So on point that it just made my whole day to read that comment with this photo!! Lmfao
Load More Replies...She is hunched over I am having the biggest problem trying to see why these positions are not hurting the spines of the dogs?
Cooling her belly on the floor, My beagle used to sit this way a lot and sometimes he would sit with his back legs straight out behind him.
Always called this look the turkey butt when my pups do it! Looks like a little cooked turkey! Lmao so precious
First yoga lesson and now can't move....gotta appear natural....no pain...no....pain..
Hi Laura: Anytime someone tells me how expensive Vets' are, I always tell them that I don't have to save for college or pay for cars, clothes, phones, computers, etc. Just lots and lots of TREATS. (No offense to parents out there)
Load More Replies...Agreed. Probably the only way he/she can breathe.
Load More Replies...that's not a "little chonk", that's a painfully fat cat. I understand why people get overweight, but animals don't usually feed themselves - so the owner is completely responsible. This is not even funny anymore. Poor kitty.
It also has a bald tummy patch from 'stress pulling/chewing' on its fur :(
Load More Replies...Sorry. I have to say it. Beautiful, but looks seriously uncomfortable.
I had a cat that look similar, not quite as fat, but fat. And before anyone bashes me, I got her slimmed down. She never sat like that after she lost weight, so maybe it's a fat cat thing.
Holy c**p, that cat needs to lose weight ASAP. That's total abuse. Poor little guy. I don't understand how the hell people can allow their pets to get that obese.
And there it is again from Maria... lol cute pic dog looks perfectly fine have had dogs live 15 years who sit this way and never had any issues and visited the vet Multiple times a year.
Seriously! Every picture she is "poor dog take them to vet" Doesn't she think that people take their animals to the vet? I am sure they do, and I am sure the vet is like let them be. Good Lord let a dog be a dog
Load More Replies...Two sweet pups, after seeing so many, I am surprised, and different breeds !!!
My mom's chihuahua makes that second face whenever she's trying to lick somebody's brain through their nostrils.
He's hoping that if he sits up straight, he'll get to drive someday.
Basically: "Mine not only does this, but also falls asleep (the same white chest).
I understood none of it. Helpful :)
Load More Replies...Are you a vet? How can you tell anything is wrong with just a picture. My dog just sneezed, should I take him to the vet? Most of these people probably have taken thier dogs to the vet for well checks and shots. I am sure the vet would have mentioned something. Please quit saying every animal on here needs to see a vet
Load More Replies...Please fetch my sunglasses. I'm feeling the Ralph Lauren ones today.
at first I thought the tail was the other hind leg and the front foot had extra toes.
Is I me or is Maria posting the words "bad hips or/and need to see a vet on every photo? I'm not trying to be a d**k I'm a huge animal lover but some animals find comfy positions that seem odd but don't always mean they're Ill...
Maybe it feels good for their spine. I know curling up like that makes mine feel good
I only sit this way to make you smile and laugh....cause I'm so cute.....
Yeah, have you ever tried panoramaing your pet?
Load More Replies...yes, but its probably a rescue not the owners fault. u need more of the story
Load More Replies...My dog Scruffy might not sit like a human, but his feet are like a human’s, only, well, different since he has two sets. He’s pigeon-toed in front (his front feet toes pointing in: \ /) and slew-footed in back (his back feet toes pointing out: / \).
wow. how much does he have to stretch before attempting that pose?
If your dog is around 6.5 years old he/she could very well be our pups sibling!
Judging from the support-harness, this one is definitely doing that because something's wrong with the back or the legs/hips.
I was hoping to see a Great Dane here. So tall when they sit up and so delicious.
My boy is similar, he likes things to brush against him, dresses or skirts ...he will stand close to me so that the hem is over his back. And then walk around with me like that, makes it difficult to do anything. Also approves of curtains, sheets on the line and low hanging foliage.
I'm thinking it's a breathing thing or a hip issue. Sweet baby.
I love em all but i think they have a hip problem Still they definitely made my day
I thought something similar about another post with dogs sitting awkwardly so looked it up... it probably is caused by discomfort in some... https://pethelpful.com/dogs/Why-Does-my-Dog-Sit-Like-that-The-Lazy-Puppy-Sloppy-Sit-Explained-And-When-You-Should-be-Concerned#:~:text=Lazy%20sitting%20in%20puppies%20is,is%20something%20to%20worry%20about
Load More Replies...There is a very overproportionate number of bulldog/Staffordshire/pitbull-breeds in this post who sit like that. It makes me assume that there are indeed hip- or knee-problems behind it, though I know that that's not the reason for all. Still... If my dog would sit like that often or only like that, I'd go check them out!
I though sitting on their butts was a labrador thing but after seeing these pitbulls and frenchies, let's just say that sitting on their haunches might not be as comfortable. But yeah, could be a hip problem or a learned behavior from their humans. All the dogs and cats are cute though.
I alwsys loved my dads description of a dog getting ready to poop: all paws standing on a dime
Gus likes to sit with his arm up while watching tv :P IMAG0631-5...8214ce.jpg
I hope that they are not "trained" to sit in these unusual positions.
