My Family Moved To A Small Town In The UK And I Started Discovering The Beauty Of This Country (35 Pics)
I am a Romanian photographer and traveler. Last year, my wife, our five-year-old son, and I decided to move to the United Kingdom. We needed something new in our lives, a new challenge, and a fresh start, so we found a small and beautiful town in the countryside and it happened.
We needed about two months to accommodate the weather, the local customs, and the very well-known English language courtesy. It was fun learning new local expressions.
We used our free days and weekends to discover the country which seems to be always green, maybe because almost every day is a rainy day.
I like the culture for preserving their inheritance, how they look after the wildlife, and that people are always smiling (or at least most of the time).

I want this tree in my dream garden, so I too can cosy up with a book. Though then the reality of bugs/spiders living in the tree would hit me too hard :(
Hope to get back again in the next months
Load More Replies...How did you manage to get a shot without tourists in the pic? 😁 Well done 👍🏻👏🏻
The Cotswolds are generally not full of tourists. It's a residential area
Load More Replies...Please tell me where this is. I plan to visit UK again and would love to experience this location and view. Thank you.
The Chamber Of Secrets has been opened, Enemies of the Heir, Beware....
It's actually a church (not a house) on an island off the Isle of Anglesey, north Wales. Pronounced 'Kweyvan' the building was originally linked by a peninsula to the mainland but time and tides have left it alone on the present islet. It's possible to visit and it is used for weddings and baptisms too. Link for some info: https://www.anglesey-history.co.uk/places/churches_and_chapels/Llangwyfan/index.html
I would like the island to be about ten times at large with a lighthouse... I would live there in peace with a flock of sheep.
If you will go take the whole weekend, there's a nice beach with clean water there also
Load More Replies...Puffins exist because a species of bird couldn't decide if they wanted to be toucans or penguins, so they went halfway between both.
lol agreed. i live in the uk but ive never been lucky enough to see a puffin
Head to either The Farne Islands, Skomer Island, or St Kilda, it's the best places to find them. :)
Load More Replies...I have been informed on this site that there are no penguins living in Britain freely, so who is correct?
Was meant to go there last August as well, but my travel companion could not manage the steep path down to the lighthouse... will have to revisit. We stayed at a rental cottage about a mile away... it was a lovely visit.
[South Stack, Holyhead, Anglesey. North Wales.] Aurel, your photos are beautiful. I spotted the image of St Cwyfan (#9) in the thumbnails and was happy to realise that your family has discovered Anglesey. I grew up there and can't tell enough people about how special it is. Happy exploring.
Actually the robin sit close to me for a few seconds

What are you rabbiting on about, sir? I am a coney (aka Oryctolagus cuniculus)... My ancestors were introduced to the UK by the Normans in the Twelfth Century.
Load More Replies...There's something magical about black and white photography. Always stuns me when I see it.
I live in the centre of England and throughout this whole lockdown all I've wanted is to visit a beach 😔. Your photo almost takes me there
Hang in there a little bit more, soon we will travel again
Load More Replies...I spent my childhood in England-this pic resonates with my heartfelt memories of my summers visiting 'the' beach in Wales.
Beautiful pictures but it would've nice to know where they were taken.
During our travels in the UK, I found myself often reflecting on the dynamics of human relationships that I had read about.
There's something intriguing about how people connect, much like those funny relationship memes I've seen which depict the humorous side of romantic connections. It's a reminder that relationships, just like our journey to a new country, are filled with challenges and laughter.
Sometimes, I simply forget how beautiful the UK really can be, this has been a stunning reminder. I can't wait to travel again. I definitely suggest to anyone visiting the UK coming up to North Yorkshire though ;) I'm in Whitby myself, you might have heard of it from Dracula lmao, or for its reputation for the Gothic. It's a great place though, and not far from the beauty of the North York moors. Fans of Harry Potter may enjoy the North Yorkshire Moor railway... ;D
Beautiful pictures. I'd forgotten how beautiful Britain can be. Personally, I think the photogrpaher cranked up the colour too much, in some shots, but I really love that you can feel the love for the landscape in them.
These were truly beautiful, the use of light .....so lovely. I wish I could copy one to use as a desktop background.
