I agree, there is so much tension in her shoulders and the tilt of her head. Perhaps she was not comfortable in that position? Still a beautiful photograph, even if it is a bit unsettling.

If you scroll to the bottom of his feet, and just look at the top half, it's a totally diff pic. Like they are being lifted by a balloon.

Not one fat or older or ugly couple took really cool engagement photos?
I liked a few of them, when you could see the peoples faces. Your friends don't want a silhouette pictue. Others- maybe 1 for the wall since if they like artsy?
You could make out the figures in most of them, but not the people. Maybe 1 or so of those artsy ones, but I'd like to see my friends up close!
After reading all comments, some negative of course, myself I think the photos are a nice idea, whatever the reason may be, let's celebrate , we need all the happy days we can get !!!
The celebration of engagements in the past were low key, in theses photos some couples chose to make the day more special, I think it's a nice idea, unlike the stress of a wedding, a photo of their beginning together, awesome !!!
I don't get this. No one I know would have engagement pics taken. You may have someone to catch the moment she or he says yes, the emotions of that moment, but you'd never hire someone, doll up and take pictures. Plus, there are only a few that look like the couple are really in love (mainly the gay couples are laughing and radiate happiness), the others look like your standard model posing for a calendar. Are there no bigger people worthy of being photographed? No old ones? None with faces that do not match the beauty standard?
what is it with people and engagement photos? In my circle one proposes, the other says yes, no one takes photos. Plus, where are all the regular people, the ones with a bit too much weight, noses too big - why were only perfect models selected? People nowadays are so self centered - hey, let's get naked and show our flawless butts in the water and call it an engagement photo..
So people hire photographers to do engagement photos....and we KNOW that 50% of them will divorce. Good to know.
I liked quite a few of these. Made my heart hurt in a good way. Gives me hope.
