According to the internet culture database Know Your Meme, online males from this supposed class are usually considered equal to alphas on the dominance hierarchy but exist outside of the structure by choice. John Wick has often been cited as a prominent example of a sigma male.
The term itself has been attributed to writer Vox Day, aka Theodore Robert Beale, a self-described Christian nationalist. On his blog, he often shares detailed explanations of the hierarchy of males using the Greek alphabet.
On May 16th, 2010, he published, "Explaining sigma. Again," in which he wrote that the sigma is not just a social outcast, but a person who despite being a supposed social outcast "wins" at the social game.

I would argue any charges. Someone has a violent past? That makes getting a job even harder. you need a job to support yourself and you need to support yourself to stay out of crime. If someone has done the time, they should be allowed to have gainful employment. Maybe if it was a violent crime they can’t do certain jobs, but they still deserve a job.

I don't know it may have. In my third year we had to do a lot of presentations and we were a pretty small class, so a group of us took it upon ourselves to find the most obscure questions about the presenters topic to make their life hell. Depends on what the invoices/bills were for. If he billed them for something he never did then technically yes it's stealing. If he billed them for something very vague like "services rendered" then he could argue that by using their systems he was providing them the service of testing the functionality and viewing ads. He'd probably still be ordered to pay the money back though.

I read a fantasy novella where they did this. They had to defend a town with hardly any troops so they opened the gates and their sorcerer cast a spell to create the illusion of faint flickering lights and breathing noises, like there were a lot of people hiding, and the enemy figured it was a trap and didn't come in. Wonder if this is where the author got the idea!

I used to work at a research hospital and the VP of research said to a tour "annually improper handwashing kills more people than 9/11". This needs some context - the hiker in question was reported overdue by some of his friends. He was indeed lost, as in he couldn't find his way back to his car in the darkness, so he decided to just spend the night in the wilderness and find the car in the morning, which he successfully did. At no point did the hiker himself think he was in danger or know that SAR (Search And Rescue) are looking for him. In hindsight he should have just picked up and told everyone he was safe.

This kid has all ready got a leg up. He has no student debt, he is the child of the Terminator and a member of the Kennedy family. He should be fine on name alone. Plus, as everyone else has said, Arnold said he won't fund his lifestyle. FUND. That means pay for everything. Most cinemas will allow the booked seats to be taken after the film has started as long as the person sitting in the booked seat moves if the person who booked it turns up or agrees to swap. But then most cinemas will recognize this trick for what it is and deny the booking

When i worked at mcd they used to count the register after each cashier's shift. The cashier had to pay back if it was short for more than $1, if it was over, they kept it. Eventually I learned to give incorrect change so I won't have to deal with that bs.

It’s partially correct I guess. American sprinkles were banned in the UK for containing certain banned E numbers and colours (at least banned in the UK). As a result, the alternatives we had were a bit bland and certainly less colourful. I think some guy here eventually worked out how to make them more vibrant with allowed ingredients and he made an absolute mint out of it.

I once read a news blurb about an elderly couple whose house caught on fire. Sadly, the wife died of smoke inhalation. The husband survived because he was a life-long smoker and was able to tolerate the amount of crud he inhaled from the fire. And no, he did not cause the fire, it was determined to be defective electrical wiring.

The diocese I worked for wanted to start drug tests for all teachers. As a faculty representative at a diocesan-wide meeting of school boards, I asked if the bishop would take a lie detector test while telling us he couldn't afford to raise salaries. Crickets chirping. The school board members told the bishop's representatives that drug tests "aren't going to happen". It was never mentioned again. (The school board member - Joe Donnelly - who put that bishop in his place is now the US ambassador to the Vatican.)

So.... I'm confused. There seems to be no one definition of "Sigma Male". Some of these are men who have gone out of their way to do something nice for other people, while others have gone out of their way to be complete See You Next Tuesdays to other people. Is that the definition? To go out of your way to do *something* that affects others in some way, either positive or negative?

"Sigma Male" is the term former "Alpha Males" use now to describe themselves. That's partially because they realised they get ridiculed for calling themselves "Alpha Males", but mostly because they realised, that they don't fit the stereotype "Alpha Male", because they are neither leaders, womanisers nor extrovert. Those lacking this minimum amount of introspection still call themselves "Alpha Males".
