As reported by the Japan Times in late 2024, the number of centenarians in Japan stood at over 95,000, according to the data from the health ministry.

This is a record high for the 54th year in a row. Back in 1963, when Japan began recording statistics, the country had barely 153 people aged 100 and over.

There is a flood of information to be found online, so in this day and age, content creators and educators alike have to find new ways to stand out from the crowd. Walls of text and long-form content (while valuable in their own right) find it hard to compete with short-form ways of presenting info.

There’s a premium on internet users’ attention spans, so you have to find a way to be as concise as possible without losing the essence of your message.

I breed and train chihuahuas…I have a 4 month old pup I’m working with now who I’m teaching commands in ASL…he’s a very smart boy who’s food and affection motivated so he’s just as easy to train as a big dog. It depends on the individual dog and the age in which you start training not the breed or size in my experience :)

The same with horses. Small ponies are allowed to misbehaved, 'cause it's 'cute` when the rear or nibble your pocket for treats. Big horses are never allowed those behaviours, because it is dangerous. And a grown pony stallion presenting your with his front hooves at head high are dangerous, too. There is a reason horse people are more afraid of shitlands than shires.

I have met beautifully affectionate chihuahua dogs. But their owners walked them constantly, they were very well socialised, and they always had some form of entertainment. So much of the information online about them says they are low maintenance dogs, but they're not. Not if you want them to be friendly anyway.

Another issue people forget with many little dogs would be their energy level. Many could stand a 5 mile run everyday. Just because they are small, does not mean they do not need to have the p**s and vinegar ran out of them. Also, socialize the dog so they don't get a short dog complex.

I've been bitten a few times, and each was a little dog that snuck up and got me. And each time the owner murmured something stupid. Old man in my building has a nasty little dog, but he's right on it telling people to back off or get bitten.

A lot of large breeds do have mellower temperaments than some small breeds. I put effort into any dog, there's no excuse not to. I am often complemented on how quiet my pomeranian is. As a service dog, she had extensive training in keeping her cool and focusing only on me. And a friend has a golden touch with chihuahuas of all breeds, they are the calmest chi's I have ever met. Little dogs can do a lot of damage too if not trained properly.

But it was actually their job to be loud. They were guard dogs who came in large groups. With their barking they would draw attention to any intruder. Some small dogs were also used to hunt boars and deer because they are less likely to get hurt due to being too small and less a threat, more a nuisance to the hunted animals.

All the dogs I've had have been softer than their plushie equivalents, regardless of size. Save for one Jack Russell Terrier who had issues due to her previous owner being too unhealthy to even leave his flat to walk her. You can guess the state his flat was in when my family adopted her.

And also, small dogs are afraid of anything so they usually bark and growl at anything they are afraid of. And usually the owner goes: ahhhw, look at him. As a previous owner of a Amstaff I can confirm my “vicious dog” was far more well behaved than any dog-rat we came across… smh

There is no way that it’s possible to explain any topic in all of its nuance and complexity in a single social media post. However, it can be a good way to pique your audience’s interest and put them on the path of doing some independent research.

If a topic sounds interesting enough, it makes you want to read up more on it. Or is that just us? It’s always a good reminder to look at multiple sources to examine how reliable certain claims are and to avoid as many biases as possible.

When gauging a source’s reliability, try to look at its track record, the type of information it relies on, whether it provides links to the original sources, how transparent it is about having made mistakes in the past, and whether it seems like it might have an agenda. Generally, a good source is one that looks at facts and doesn’t just present its opinions as objective truths.

Here is the letter he did indeed send: Hell, March 13, 1919 Now, to be exact, at 12:15 (earthly time) on next Tuesday night, I am going to pass over New Orleans. In my infinite mercy, I am going to make a little proposition to you people. Here it is: I am very fond of jazz music, and I swear by all the devils in the nether regions that every person shall be spared in whose home a jazz band is in full swing at the time I have just mentioned. If everyone has a jazz band going, well, then, so much the better for you people. One thing is certain and that is that some of your people who do not jazz it out on that specific Tuesday night (if there be any) will get the axe.

NBC News: "There was no fire, state police told WNYT-TV. The man had consumed LSD and cough medicine and thought his neighbor's home in Saratoga County was being consumed by flames last Thursday, officials say. He went around his Halfmoon neighborhood banging on doors and yelling about a fire, WNYT reported." "He went around his Halfmoon neighborhood banging on doors and yelling about a fire, WNYT reported. When no one would help, he drove his black BMW sedan through his neighbor's fence, went to the back door and smashed through it to retrieve the dog. He emerged triumphantly with the large white dog, and responding officers found him standing outside the home with the dog in his arms, police said. "He believed that the residence was on fire and he was rescuing the dog," State Police Troop G spokesman Mark Cepiel said. The man, 43-year-old Michael Orchard, was arrested on charges of burglary and criminal mischief. He was jailed on $15,000 bail."
