It's kinda sad if you're singeld out because you are associated by your appareance with people who want to harm others.

Some of us have to actually plan for this "random selection" and go to the airport an extra couple of hours early.

Collecting him once he’s boarded the plane is f’d up on a whole different level. I’m estimating at minimum an hour passed between the time he left the security checkpoint and he boarded the plane. That was more than enough time for security to approach him. I get the sick feeling that an Islamophobic Karen saw him board her flight and called security, quite possibly making false accusations.

I don't remember a time when I wasn't "randomly" selected. My husband thinks it is funny .LOL I am 64 now.

This is awful and annoying

Not the same, but as a child I had my bag searched EVERY time. Apparently if you’re in a family unit then adults hide things in the young daughter’s bag to avoid it being found. Every time we went though baggage scan I knew it was coming. Only stopped when I reached teenage years

As if all the lines and security we have to pass are not enough.

When I first saw this, couldn't find a reason? for his comment and sort of felt sorry for him standing there all alone. Then I read all or most of the messages further on. I had no idea that that sort of stuff is just being accepted as par for the course? I hereby wish to show my sympathy for our/all stupidity

Being real alot of screeners will deliberately chose the " white guy" to avoid having a complaint of racism put against them. So it goes both ways

They had to pick you to balance all the old white grannies they seem to pick on so frequently. Get over yourself.

My sister’s very white step-grandmother always gets singled out whenever she flies, even before 9/11. Apparently little old white ladies are a huge threat to aviation.

I agree it must be totally humiliating and traumatic to be hauled off a plane and there is nothing random about it.There is another side to the story that you should consider.These people are doing their job,which is to keep undesirables out of our country. Blame your fellow countrymen who are guilty of serious crime who have got into the country and performed vicious terrorist attacks or simply entered illegally.If you look like them in skin colour or even dress you will probably be removed.Who can blame a government for protecting its people.When innocent people get killed through terrorist attacks as many have the public blame the government for allowing them in the country.If a white man was in a muslim country he would be treated differently too,probably end up as a hostage.Be Honest about this.
