This Is Henry A Few Hours After We Adopted Him. A Mama’s Boy Immediately!
Luckily, more and more people are willing to follow the advice "adopt, don’t shop" these days.
In our previous interview with Louise Lee, the media officer at the organization Blue Cross For Pets, we found out that the stigma around so-called “‘broken’ pets is gradually changing and people understand pets are handed over for all sorts of reasons.”
On The Day I Adopted The Choc Lab (Harmony) I Took Her To My Parents House To Meet Their Dog (Duke) This Is His Reaction To Her Getting On The Bed With Him
Someone Threw This Baby Out In The Parking Lot Of A Gas Station From Their Car Yesterday...
People were trying to catch him and the little guy just came running out to me. I picked him up and the folks was saying well he found his home now..
How can someone trough this little sweet thing out from a car? Why???Man I hate this evil people...thank you for being such a lovely person and give him all the love he needs!
I wish karma was literal and those heartless, evil people would get thrown from a car themselves...
Load More Replies...Why would anyone toss out a perfectly good kitten? I love that he picked you!
That's what happed to Blickle. She was thrown out of a moving car in an industrial mall and luckily someone saw it happen. At first they thought trash was being thrown but thought they also saw little white paws. They investigated and found a teeny tiny tuxedo kitten in the bushes, went through with mud in her eyes because it was a very rainy day. The next day she was in my arms!
Anyone who abuses an animal should receive an automatic death sentence. I don't give a f**k if it's a kid, or an adult. Once an a*****e, always an a*****e! Kill them and let the culling begin.
I catch anybody pulling this c**p I will punch them in the throat!
Oh my god, how could somebody do that to an innocent beautiful kitty?! So glad he is safe now, and not hurt. He can now live his best life possible full of love and happiness ♡ thank you
I don't know why you're being downvoted. You're simply proposing a few reasons *why* someone would to something like that, right? You're not condoning it at all.
Load More Replies...I Rescued A 12-13 Yr Old Dog Three Years Ago. This Is Her Being Held By One Of The Animal Shelter Employees And The Other Is About 20 Mins After Being In Her New Forever Home! Sweet Chloe
Bless you for taking in this senior girl! Not everyone is this kind.
The tendency to adopt became especially prominent during the recent coronavirus pandemic when, in times of crisis, many were seeking a furry companion.
Pamela Reid, the vice president of The American Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals Behavioral Sciences Team, told Bored Panda that: "During this period of great uncertainty, one bright spot has been the incredibly passionate response from people willing to open their homes and hearts to foster and adopt vulnerable shelter animals."

Brought Home Our Tabby On Feb 1st...this Was A Month Ago. I Think My Fears Of My Tuxedo Cat Not Liking Her Were Squashed Officially After This Photo
Incredibly, there has been a nearly 70 percent increase in animals going into foster care through ASPCA New York City and Los Angeles foster programs, compared to the same time period in 2019.
But the adoption boom was something other shelters could have never expected. "We thought people were going to bring their animals in and then run for the hills," Katy Hansen, communications director for the Animal Care Centers of NYC (ACC), told Vox.
At any given time, ACC shelters more than 600 animals and now, it's less than 100.
This Is Kramer. Someone Tossed Him Out Of A Car And I Was Lucky Enough To Be Rescued By Him. Immediate Mama's Boy! Sweetest Dog I've Ever Had.

I will never understand how people can do that. My dogs are part of my family and I'd never, ever be willing to give them up.

My Daughter And Our Cat Just A Few Days After We Found Him : He Was Left Starving In The Streets.
This Was The Same Night We Got Her
She was a stray along with her sister that someone found in the neighborhood. Someone posted on Facebook if anyone could pick them up since it was on there property but not their cats. They were covered in fleas and bleeding all over from bites. On top of that it was summer time in Georgia so it was really humid and wet. We picked up both of the sisters and brought them home and this one has never left my side since. They seemed even more happy whenever we got the fleas removed for good. This was 2 years ago and now every night she'll curl up under my armpit and sleep with me all night.

Our Rescues 2,5 Weeks Ago On Their 1st Day Home Xenie (8 Weeks) And Kitty (6 Weeks)
Xenie is a snuggle bug and adapted quick and love it when you play ball with her. Kitty came to the shelter wild and very thin. For 2 weeks he only ate and slept (mostly on my shoulder). Since the beginning of this week they've been waking us up with their playing. Kitty now comes for rubs and loves sleeping with us. Rescues are the best

My 5 Year Old's Kitten Diamond Sparkle, An Hour After Her Adoption. Guess Who Named Her?
My daughter looks kinda sad in this photo, but she really wasn't. Like Diamond Sparkle, she was just incredibly tired. We were up really early and waited in our car for two hours (starting at 6am!) in the middle of winter, so she could be the first to choose a kitten when the doors opened at Kitten Inn (http://kitteninn.org.nz) at 8am that morning.

Rosa & Amy , 2 Yrs Old?, Found In A Homeless Camp On Oahu As Abonded Pair.
Didn't mean to post this twice! This was night one, almost a month after our 14 yr old puggle Perce, passed away. These girls were so funny looking at the humane society on the island and if we didn't get them, we didn't know who would? Shaking after a rain storm and nervous my hubby decided to camp out with them in the living room.

Hello Pandas, Meet Pork Chop.we Rescued Him About A Week Ago From A Cramped Apartment Building In The City. He’s Now A Happy, Healthy Pig With Plenty Of Acreage To Play In.
Too often pigs are purchased tiny, with the owner having no idea how big they'll get, or how much care they will need. Then they're abandoned when they're no longer "small and cute". It's so nice to see a pig get the kind of love and room to play that he needs!

I am disgusted by the actions of his first owners- even if they had little money to look after his needs, they could still have 'cleaned him up'. A little coconut oil would have soothed his skin... *coconut oil is safe for use as a topical ointment and as an edible supplement

Shelter Sisters For Over 2 Years
The girls were part of a feral colony that had been fixed and released back to their colony. Then months later the colony was being attacked by something (I never did find out what or who.) They were then brought to the shelter. Being feral they were not the friendliest kitties. They had been at the shelter just over 2 years when we brought them home.. The girls stayed under the bed for a few days. Abby, the smallest of the sisters, stayed under the bed almost exclusively for about 6 weeks. 5 years later they are loving, happy kitties.

This Is Ranger. So Skinny! (Also Had A Broken Leg!) Country Is Where They Get Dumped 😞
His Mom, Maggie, showed up a few days later. After we got Ranger healthy, we drove him to MI for his forever home (we live in AL). We are still godparents. Sucks to live on a country road. It's where so many unwanted pets get dumped.
So heartwarming. Such beautiful animals and all so deserving of their happy new homes. ❤
I Just want to say that I love all your little ones...every each one...I love this stories and how much love they get from their new family. Thank you all for your kindness to animals. The world would be a better place to live if we have more of you out there....
Ugh. I really didn't want to cry today but at least these are tears of joy!

I love that people adopt from shelters, rescue groups, and pounds. People need to stop supporting puppy (and cats too) mills and "backyard breeders."
Thank you K. LNU for your comment. It's incomprehensible why people still keep in business those cruel sub-human monsters who profit from animal pain and suffering.
Load More Replies...Adopting pets from shelters is a wonderful thing to do and should be encouraged much much more. However, the thing that grinds my gears is when people say they rescued their pet, instead of saying something like they adopted it. Bill Burr does a great bit about this. He essentially says that people who choose to say the word rescue, do so to make themselves feel more important. They didn’t rescue it from a burning building (except perhaps anecdotally) and they didn’t rescue it from a hostage situation, they literally just drove to the shelter and back. If a diseased stray cat was found and taken to a vet who successfully battled to keep it alive, is the person who took it home still going to say *they* rescued it, not the vet? That’s more of a rhetorical question. Adopting from shelters is terrific and all the pets in these pictures look so happy to have a nice home.
That does not matter how people word the good deed of saving a creatures life. Adopting is rescuing it from the life of misery or immediate death.

So many go right to sleep, as they relax and feel safe and loved.
I down voted you because you state you don't care about adopting animals... Some people do not want to have children, their own or adopted. Don't understand your comment of "Post adoption documents. That I want to see and respect."? Huh? PS no one forced you to read this thread.
Load More Replies...So heartwarming. Such beautiful animals and all so deserving of their happy new homes. ❤
