Oh, I did laugh, don't worry. :) I just hate when people stage things for internet attention that don't make any real sense. It's playing off the misconception that hedgehogs have quills that come out frequently and stick in you. They don't. I had one too that was a mean little booger, so I would have experienced it. Animals do plenty of funny stuff without humans needing to embellish.

I witnessed a dog trying to eat a hedgehog once... it seemed a painful ordeal lol

Please research the needs of a hedgehog before getting one.

It is normal for guinea pigs (and rabbits) to eat some of their feces. It is vital to your guinea pig's health and well being..."Guinea pigs excrete two kinds of dark brown pellets. One is the poo we all know and expect - the other is a compound of vitamins and proteins that help the guinea pig digest B vitamins. These are called ceacotrophs. They are very similar to the cud that hoofed animals like cows, deer and giraffes produce. They can't chew their food enough in order to properly digest it - so in cud's case, it settles in the rumen to be worked on by acids, then shot back up the esophagus for another chew. Now, it can be digested. In a guinea pig's case, they don't have rumens, so the "cud" comes out the other way for a second chew." Dogs will eat rabbit feces to gain the same benefits.
