I'll concede that it's not socialist, that's on me. What makes you say it isn't communist, though?

In TRUE communism it is...but that kind of communism has proved ineffective and isn't used anymore having mixes of capitalism in it...same with capitalism using parts of communism in it...no one uses those kind of governments because they either lead to a suffering country where the people hate you or a poor country where the people don't have the time to think about hating their countries because they are to concerned on their own depressing life.

Here in the UK we have public healthcare - it results in poor value, for example a pack of paracetamol costs the NHS around £3.60 when they are available for a tenth of this over the counter in supermarkets. They also seem unable to prevent disease spreading within the healthcare system, a massive part of the Covid spread was in hospitals. American style health insurance is not the solution, due to the governmental protections and accepted oligopoly of big pharma, genuine competition and low barriers to entry would result in an open market and better value for taxpayers and people who use it.

Healthcare is provided via taxation. In terms of value for money, the NHS offers 'free' healthcare, but the actual costs are often unnecessarily high (for example the same pack of paracetamol would cost NHS significantly more than if a consumer were to buy them). The same service could be provided at a much lower cost if it were not for these inefficiencies, hence providing poor value. The quality of the care is also often not great in my personal experience.

Whoever downvoted, please feel free to comment - I can't see how anyone can dispute a publicly available cost, or that consumers can buy the same paracetamol for a fraction of the price.

When true socialism was tried, tens of millions of people starved to death. Sharing toys is not socialism. Starving to death is.

They're not socialist. Do they have collectivization? Government takeover of the economy? Nationalized industries? No? They're not socialist. Call them what they are: social democratic. Socialism is the one practised by China, which ended up with the greatest famine in modern times.
