Our Dorm Building Only Has One Facilities Person To Clean, She Works So Hard Yet The People On My Floor Are Still Disgusting. I Can't Blame Her For Leaving This Note
According to the website PsychMechanics, there are some basics about the psychology of selfishness that we all should know:
A selfish person is the one who puts his own needs first. He's primarily concerned with himself and seeks out only those activities that fulfill his own desires and wants. Anything wrong with that? I don’t think so.
Going by that definition, we're all selfish in one way or the other. All of us want to do things that are ultimately for our own good and well-being. This type of selfishness is good and desirable.
So far so good. The problem arises when we do things for ourselves and at the same time ignore the needs of those around us or when we fulfill our needs at the expense of others. When you make life difficult for others to meet your own ends, then that kind of selfishness is the selfishness that you’d like to avoid.
Even Though I Don’t Work Here, The Parents With Their Children In The Photo Made A Mess In The Toy Aisle At A Store. I Feel Sorry For Whoever Would Have To Clean That Up
They shouldn't be allowed to leave without paying the damage. It is obvious they broke many things. It's the same as eating food from aisles in supermarket, you can't damage it, make it useless then leave.
Jesus! I would completely lose my cool if I worked at this store! Who the hell lets there child do this and then walks away without making them clean it up!
It must have taken considerable time for the children to make this much of a mess (rip open packaging of the board games etc). If I worked at the store, I would lock the front doors, call the police and let the police deal with them.
This appears to be a 2nd hand or thrift store, so everything was already open packaging, so the kids weren't breaking into new items, obviously they're still guilty of being complete jerks, but unless they actually damaged items I don't think the store could press charges.
Load More Replies...When I was a kid, and we went to the toy store, my brother and I would always end up putting toys back on the shelf from other kids. The manager was always surprised! I explained that I was trying to make less work for his staff! He was surprised and very appreciative!
I wonder what the real story is. There must be more to it than this.
Not real story I work at retail and I’ve seen a single person do this sort of mess. The parent probably was tired and let the kids do what they wanted so they would distract themselves while he spend his time of the phone. I have seen it everyday
Load More Replies...she even OPENED the boxes with the toy in it.. come on, i mean how stupid and irresponsible do you have to be to not feel bad for whoever cleans up the mess you and your brat made?
As someone who works at a Goodwill, I can tell you this is an extreme version of what we deal with every day. I once had a little guy start picking up toys when he saw me cleaning up and I praised him to death. He was five. I do hear some parents telling kids to put things back, but that seems to be the exception rather than the rule.
TBH this looks like it might be a retail outlet for a charity...as in there is no packaging and the toys are all different, there's no visible pricing... I work for a charity like this and I can assure you this would happen with out intervention.....
That do not matter. Think about job discripetion did that include child minding. By this time i cannot even spell description.
Load More Replies...As someone with 27 years of retail experience, I can honestly say that this does happen. Most of what is there will simply have to be trashed because of missing parts. Sometimes this happens because people are spread thin in stores and cannot watch every customer every minute. Another thing that happens is someone will act as decoy and keep the worker occupied while the kids, both small and adult-sized, trash the place. I've been the victim of that one. I've also had entire families move as much merchandise as they can carry from one aisle to another in an entire sections of the store. They were not there to purchase anything, just to make a mess. After moving stuff around in about half the store, they would leave. Management was too lazy to stop them, nor would they allow us to do it.
I was sceptical about this being real until I read your and some of the other comments, I have to say I'm completely shocked by this.
Load More Replies...They sIould pay for that kind of mess. Moreover it looks like the toys had been opened and played.
How would no one notice this until it got to this point lol impressive though
I've encountered this in a goodwill before. I was in shock. It seemed that there were two small children back there, left to play with the toys, while the parent(s) shopped. Like it was a playroom, or something. I was with my young, respectful, normal kids (who were equally as shocked), there looking for some fun things to add to our playroom at home. We didn't buy anything that day.
Anybody who lets his/her kids get away with c**p like this should be neutered! The kids should be "fixed," too.
This wouldn't fly over here, no chance, i'm getting angry just looking at this pic.Look at the monopoly money for gawds sake.
The parents are TOTALLY responsible. You don't go to a store and let the toy aisle be the babysitter PERIOD !!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I HATE parents who just let their kids run around with no repercussions. They'd make a mess of the store I used to work at and they make a mess at the library I currently work at. How hard is it to watch your children, it is not the workers job to watch them.
That is totally disgusting. I would make them clean it and then ban them from the store for life. I would also take their picture and post it on social media. I would shame the parents for raising such disrespectful children.
The mess from stuff falling off shelves during a quake is tidier than this.
Load More Replies...No control over their child I would have contacted police and stated criminal damage
Not to excuse this bad behavior, but I've seen thrift store toy aisles and I'm gonna bet it already looked half this bad before they even got there.
Yeah pretty sure it's not the thrift store staff dumping stuff on the floor! It's no doubt harder to make their aisles look tidy with the random mish mash of stuff that they're donated, but obviously some people who don't pay much have no respect
Load More Replies...I highly doubt one family did all that!! Hundreds of customers maybe,
Yep, this is at a goodwill, and as a nerd / book collector who hangs out a lot at goodwills I see this sh*t all the time. Some parents just abandon their kids in the toy section while they do their own shopping, as if it was some kind of designated play area. It would never fly in a department store, because those places have guards and surveillance, but it is a definite slap in the face of all the (mostly) volunteer works at the Goodwill store.
OMG, As the store owner, I will let the parents clean the mess, and if they don't, take a picture and make it viral as warning for other shop owner.
We don't know the backstory to this particular picture, and these children might not have caused all this mess on their own. I can confirm the parents might permit or encourage the children to make a mess so that store employees are focusing on, watching the children, while the parents shoplift from other parts of the store.
The store should adopt the policy: You opened, you bought it.
I'd call the police, file charges, and ban them from the store. Storekeepers have that right.
Disgu St I wouldn’t let them leave till it’s all cleaned up and pay for the ones that’s open or broke
my first real job was at Zayre. I was in stationery. I cleaned up my aisle and went back to clean up the birthday cars etc. When I came back my aisle was a mess. Not as bad as this but looked like someone messed it on purpose. I didn't last long at this job. Manager said too many guys coming in.
Not unusual unfortunately! A huge sign....you touch, you buy. This aisle is monitored by video.
Those kids have no hope with parent's that allow/encourage that behavior.
Well It certainly looks like a thrift, or charity type shop, no doubt about that. I have worked in some so....It IS entirely possible that it is NOT just those kids who made this mess, but several different ones on several different visits......so, in essence, many different parents who do not tell the kids to pick up after they look at a game/ toy. I have seen messy stores like that....not enough personel either to clean as they go.
It's up to the staff to stop this from happening . And parents who let their kids do this are going to have huge issues with their intitled brats in a few years . Haha.
I have seen this, especially at Christmas time in Target and K-Mart. The parents turn a blind eye to what their kids are doing. One lady I saw was taking photos of her child sitting on the floor among all the toys.
what were the employees doing? I'm sure they ruined some of those toys and didn't buy anything.
those parents should be cleaning it up and paying for whatever the kids opened and played with. period!
This happens almost every day at the Walmart store where I used to work. The parents would drop their kids off in the toy dept. while they did their shopping, but when Mom or Dad came to pick their kids up and they didn't buy them the toys they picked out, oh the screaming and tantrums could be heard all over the store!!! Good grief parents, the store is not a day care!
They didn't just make a mess, they opened packages. They should pay for that.
I fell like this is the result of many people messing up the shelves...Like a rampage of stupid shoppers during a big sale. Not just one family. But who knows.
There'd be some a*s woopin when they got home, after they picked up their mess.
That is absolutely disgusting! Some people are oblivious to the problems they cause other people
this is to much, like the monopoly money is on the floor u cant just open the ish and not buy it
I really. believe that the store is to blame for this one. Either the employees did not care enough to clean it before it got worse, or the store didn't post enough employees to be working.
This looks to be a thrift store. Very obvious parents just dumpped kis of in toy isle so they could shop. So rude and irresponsible of parents. Respect & responsibility has gone buy the wayside. Along with discipline.
As a parent if my kid done anything like this I would kick their a*s!!
I am actually wonderuing if it was only those peeps in the picture that did this amount of desctruction. I find it hard to believe that just two kids are able to do this without store staff noticing. Maybe they are just wandering through Black Friday sale mess?
Police and pay. They let them open even the toys that have tiny pieces and cannot be sold anymore, are you kidding me? That's damaging property.
Um, was no one working that day to step in and control the situation?
I would post the picture without blurring mom and dad's faces. Do a second shot of mom and dad close up, and identify the store and city... poor kids
I went Christmas shopping at Ross in Sierra Vista last year. One gal came in with 4 kids ages about 7 and under. One had a green snotty nose....she put them in the toy section and they played with every toy there. With the sick one wiping his nose with his hands and on his sleeves. I told the manager...a few minutes later the lady, very pissed off, grabbed her kids and claimed she would never shop there again. I thought that was GREAT and so did the manager
This is probably really just a picture from an earthquake, you can't trust ANYTHING you see on the internet..
thats b******t. No owner would let this happen by one family. Exceot they are the Kardashians and then you dont mind..cause they bought a little..much for 10000$
No respect, then they wonder why their kids have behaviour problems.
I wasn't even allowed to touch items in shops as a kid . My parents would soon tell me off if I did. Their favourite phrase was "your eyes are in your head not your hands just look DON'T TOUCH."
My biggest question is how did the kid get so many toys out of the packaging? Anyone with kids that has experienced Christmas morning knows that that amount of toy opening requires scissors, pliers and screwdrivers!
looks like a 2nd hand store, I see this all the time at Value Village. Id hate to see what their house looked like
To be fair, we don't know for sure that this one family made all that mess, just because the contributor said so. But on the other hand, nobody lies on the Internet so...
How absolutely ignorant can people be to trash someone else's things, like this!!???
I have worked in retail for over 20 years. Parents find nothing wrong with letting their little “darlings” run around aimlessly while they shop. As a result, these kids act like mini tornadoes as they tear through the store! Then when you confront the parent, they are offended because their child couldn’t possibly have done such a thing!! 😖
I do not own a store, but Marc is 100% correct and not only should they pay for everything broken and pay for the employees who have to clean the mess, they should be rewarded with a free ride in a police car and free meals at taxpayers expense.
Oh hell no. Get all your butts right back in there and clean it all up.
As a customer, I might say something myself. This is totally unacceptable.
Now that I've looked at all the pictures, I think it's obvious that some people have no idea how to raise children. It's very sad because the behavior doesn't change when they become "adults."
Load More Replies...WOW, that is just so unreal! You watched them make this entire mess? Because that is impressive! I would have called the cops
I shop in second-hand stores a lot. I recommended that children's toys be moved next to the dressing rooms, which were within sight from the checkout area. They also placed signs: "Do not leave children unattended in this area or they will be considered abandoned and police called." It did the trick.
I have looked at all 30 of these photographs, there obviously more morons in the world than I thought.
Call the police! This is as good as theft, as all these boxes would have been sealed, and now the retail value is completely gone. These a...holes need to learn a lesson.
This looks like a nice thrift store. I help out in one and I know people do not teach their children respect, mainly because the parents don't respect as well. They have no idea how long it takes to clean up their messes and they don't seem to care.
Note to customers: Toy stores sell goods. They are not play areas for bored kids.
This was one family? Two children? Were they left alone in the store overnight? Were gremlins somehow involved? That weren’t these two children? The things some people do on purpose.
Is this the Value Village in Vancouver? Because it often looks like this. Parents leave their kids unattended. Poor employees
As a manager I would give them two options, pay for the goods or I call the police
The store should adopt the policy: If you opened, you bought it.
That’s what the toy aisle at my local Goodwill looks like ALL the time. They finally put up a sign, it did no good.
Years ago, I worked at Walmart for a short time. After Easter, the candy aisle had damaged, opened packages and candy mashed into the floor. I had to clean that up. How entitled do people have to be to shop like that?
And I thought the kids who insisted in spraying the foambursts (shower gel things) everywhere were bad.
Looks like a charity shop or something, all the toys together and no shelf prices. it would have taken multiple kids quite a bit of time to play with that much stuff. I'm wondering how no one noticed it happening. Nevertheless, no excuse for not supervising your kids, or making sure they clean up their mess.
I wouldn’t have kept my mouth shut - I would have given both parents and kids a huge bollocking....
Kids might not know how to act. they sure know how to act out bad. Cashiers are not babysitters. As with store employees. Parents being asses letting their kids act really dumb.
Go ahead make my day!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!Parents!!!!!!!!!!!!
Load More Replies...Where were the store employees and owner while all this was going on !? :O
I used to work in a music store. Parents would drop their kids off and then go do the shopping, expecting the sales assistants to babysit while the kids wrecked the place. The one time we did call the cops the parent became abusive and threatened to stab us as we walked to our cars.
Don't think its fair to post a picture of child and parents in this situation. They could have literally walked around the corner into this mess.
It looks more like a goodwill store or some type of thrift store to me personally.
Wow, and they look so average, normal, every-day parent-like. I am not sure who I had expected to be behind something like this (maybe a stampede of toddlers with an overwhelmed parent), but somehow it boggles my mind that they are basically the people next door. And have the audacity to stand there, unabashed, to check out toddler clothing with a backdrop of plushie havoc.
Don't they have available staff to monitor this type of things in their store?
I allow my 4 year old to play in toy stores. But I am always with or near him and he knows by now that he must be carefull. I would never allow him to open board games or other things. If he wold damage something, I would pay for it. If he would make a mess, I would force him to clean it up or do it myself.
did you see them do it and did video them doing it if you did not see it do not blame the Children if you have the video then show the video if you have it do you have Children
People are so gullible. This is clearly NOT a typical retail store but either a goodwill or close out store. Just because there are people in the picture doesn’t mean they made the mess. And it’s the employees fault for letting it get this out of hand in the first place. If this fake news is how the rest of the article is, Bored Panda... you must be really bored.
This Lady Kneeling On Bread While She Looks At Other Bread
There are several reasons that could make someone selfish...
A person who holds on to his resources and doesn't give it to the needy can be considered a selfish person and this is the type of selfishness that we commonly refer to when we say that someone is selfish.
When we say that someone is selfish, we usually mean that he doesn't share his resources (money, time, etc.). Now, why won’t a person share his resources, even if it's the best thing to do in a given situation?
The biggest reason is that he thinks he doesn't have enough. A selfish person, therefore, is also likely to be stingy. This insecurity of not having enough motivates a person to hold on to his resources and not share them.
If You Or Your Kids Think That It's A Good Idea To Leave The Cinema Like This, Damn You
He/She Saw Nothing Wrong With Parking There
People who do this deserve to get their car damaged by the air ambulance crew and their streacher. It's probably the only way they'll learn.
Another reason is a fear of losing control. If someone has many needs and goals, then he overvalues his resources because he thinks that these resources are going to help him reach his goals. If he loses his resources, he loses his goals and if he loses his goals he feels he has lost control over his life.
For example, a student who doesn't share his study notes with others is the one who has high academic goals and sharing notes could mean losing an important resource that could help him reach his goal. And not being able to reach your goals is a perfect recipe for a feeling of loss of control over your life.
In other cases, the way a person was raised can also make him act in selfish ways. The only child or the child whose every demand was met by his parents (spoilt child) learns to take as much as he can and give very little back.
Such children learn to care only for their needs with little empathy or consideration for others. As children, we were all like that to some extent but gradually we began to learn that other people have emotions too and so developed empathy.
Some people never learn empathy and therefore remain selfish, just like when they were kids.
Urgh...
Was Told To Post This Here. Woman Stomped All Over The Plants In This Conservatory For Instagram Shots Despite Staff Repeatedly Asking Her To Stop
The most important thing to do when dealing with a selfish reason is to figure out the reason for his selfishness and then work on eliminating that reason.
All other methods and efforts of dealing with him are going to be in vain. Ask yourselves questions like...Why is he being selfish? What is he feeling so insecure about? Are you making unrealistic demands of him? Is he really in a position to meet your demands?
We are often too quick to label someone ‘selfish’ instead of admitting that we failed to persuade them or that our demands are unreasonable.
But what if they are really being selfish and you're not just falsely labeling them?
Well then, help them get rid of their insecurity. Show them that they're not going to lose anything by giving you what you want. Or better yet, show them how they may benefit by helping you if there's a possibility of a win-win situation.

Anyways, I just don't tolerate this sort of behavior!!
1. People who litter everywhere (especially smokers, I see dozens of them a day thrwoing cigarette butts just anywhere). 2. People who take 2 or more seats in crowded buses or benches 3. people who take a whole sidewalk walking very slowly or just standing there talking or whatever. Move! 4. idiots who park just anywhere not only bloking road and cars but also endagering people by blocking view and to avoid police and ticket they switch on those "blinker" lighrs like car is broken. It's not. There are dozens and dozens idiots like that parked blocking whole right lane. 5. People who sneeze and cough around instead of using the tissue, especially in closed areas like buses. I don't want your germs! 6. smokers who blow smoke at everyone. I am alergic. 7. people who cut in line. Wait like everyone else. 8. People who take children in crowded, too warm or too cold or generally unpleasant places (unless they really have to) without any reason but to get over everyone in line or get a seat.
I used to be a smoker (10+ years ago), but I have since become extremely sensitive to cigarette smoke. It burns my throat/nostrils, causes me to sneeze, etc. Anyway, a lot of smokers think that people just make up being allergic to it. Even when I smoked, I would NEVER smoke & walk down a sidewalk. It's a good idea. I would personally hate it but I have a lot of time for people who work in jobs like waiting tables or dealing with customers in shops. They are tough jobs and usually underpaid as well.

I approached the woman and asked her if she get the girl to calm down because of how it was effecting other people shopping. She said "Oh she's not screaming..she's singing." Excuse me? She was approached by other shoppers and still refused to quiet the child down. I approached the manager who in turn..told her to take the child outside until she calmed down. The woman stomps off saying "HOW RUDE!! SHE'S JUST SINGING!!" Again..excuse me?
I'm sorry for my profanity in some of the posts above but people like this are disgusting and disgraceful in so many ways. No discipline, no set by example from parent(s) in a child's formative years.
Just like that time two women were in Winners with their little dog that crapped in the middle of aisle and when we confronted them about it - told them they shouldn't have a dog in the store in the first place - they grabbed a pack of wet wipes off the shelf and quickly left without paying for them
Yep, seen this behaviour many times when I was a school teacher. Student response was that if I cleaned up after myself then the school cleaners would not have a job. Sometimes parent/carers would back their child so that meant total refusal. So what you see in these pictures are people older and younger who are displaying a sense of entitlement to do whatever they want and if confronted will most likely threaten you.
I've never understood behavior like this. I've always seen it as self serving and disgusting.
This made me so angry!~ I wish I hadn't looked at this. I can't believe how disrespectful and disgusting people are :(
If I were religious: I would pray that all these people go to a very special place in HELL, FOR ALL ETERNITY!
Shopping carts and those who leave them loose in parking lots -- particular those who leave them in disabled spots -- are my personal rant. I have a disease that is destroying the soft tissue in my joints and live in a constant state of pain. Yet, I can somehow manage to return my cart to the bin even in bad weather. Meanwhile, I watch obviously fully abled people leave their carts so they easily roll into other cars, block slots and/or block disabled slots. It's the height of both laziness and inconsideration.
This was just in case if someone is sceptical about the need for strict rules in the society. In the same time we have countries such as Singapore or Japan where the ratio of antisocial idiots to normal people is in favour of normal. Of course, definition of normal can be always stretched for the convenience of idiots.
I agree with Marc, NOT ONE PERSON SHOULD DO ANY OF THESE!!!! IT IS BERY RUDE AND COULD GET YOU IN JAIL!!!!!!
This is exactly why I can't stand to fly. Dealing with rude, ignorant humans.

One time our family went to the zoo, and it was raining, so we had to wait in one of the tunnels, and some a*****e decides to start SMOKING, and yes there were a lot of kids there too.
I did not believe that I was so exceptional a person - when I went to hospital the Nurses were not the only people who made such a fuss of me - the cleaning staff too - I was only behaving as I was taught by my Nanna= small chocolate bar for a sweeper "you work too hard sweetie" - another orderly I asked for - out of the trash a small plastic bag for the things I would not chuck on the floor - I was being treated for a broken hip but the Nurses too treated me like a friend because my behaviour was different from that displayed by some - I am not outstanding - I refuse to believe that
Just why... why do we have to live in the same world as these horrible people? They forget they have to live in this world with us, no one wants to clean up after them or put up with their vile (and sometimes dangerous - like the ice cream licking numbnut) things they do.
Did anybody tell them? Cause when I see a jerk I tell them if possible especially when there are witnesses. I am in mid forties why should I shut up? Just have reached levels of zero tolerance for stupid disrespectful people!
I have been doing work exchange in hostels around Asia the last couple of years and it is really enough to make you hate people. People act incredibly disrespectful and entitled in hostels especially, knowing that they are not the ones who have to clean up afterwards. A personal favorite happened a few weeks ago; someone had decided to blow their nose on their pillow, and I don’t even know how but that thing was GIANT! But wait! It gets better! This person has then taken off the pillow-cover with this giant bugger, flipped it inside out (so that the bugger was now on the inside) and put it back onto the pillow. I had to spend several minutes peeling the cover off the pillow and then try to scratch off the now dried bugger from the pillow. Smartass actually slept on the pillow so it was really pressed into it..
And don’t get me started on all the parents that stay with their small children. Cleaned a suite last year and spent probably an hour, if not more, scrubbing sticky handprints and poop off every surface in the room.. If there is one thing I have learned since doing this, it’s that people are a******s.

In a store, there was a boy around 8 who was completely out of control, and his mother was intimidated by him. He later almost pushed me down the escalator, so I told him off. He scampered behind his mother. Too bad she was too wussy to teach him manners. If a child of mine had ever acted like that, we would have been having a serious discussion outside of the store with consequences like losing computer privileges for a significant period of time. Time to get tough with your kids. They won't learn it any other way.
no comment actually can describe this feeling. not just disgusted, awkward or angry.
It would be great to know where these were from. They remind me so much of the unbelievably rude and inconsiderate behavior that is the norm in Miami, FL. Nice place but I had to move away as quickly as possible to get back among people that behave like people. Although not the worst thing I saw, it bothered me a lot when a family, with little KIDS, would stroll through a store eating whatever they desired and then discarding it when something else caught their eye. They make it hard not to hate people but there is a lot of good out there.

It's quite funny really because most of them are sitting down when I do and they stand up trying to be all bad a*s to me. I am a woman (duh right? ) but I am also 5'11 and I work out. Most of the time they are shorter than me and they realize that they don't stand a chance. I am a lover not a fighter but they don't need to know that haha.
I think that is so disgusting to essentially blow your smoke in everyone's face behind you. Yuck yuck yuck!!
