47 Makeup Transformations Causing Women To Look Decades Younger (New Pics)
Interview With ArtistMakeup has existed for centuries and has always been an important part of people's lives. Depending on the location, tradition, culture, and, finally, fashion, it has always been there, just in different forms.
Today, we would like to present to you some extraordinary transformations by Anar Agakishiev, a makeup artist from Azerbaijan. What makes his work special is that many of the models undergoing his transformations are ladies who, thanks to Anar’s artistry, look decades younger. Very often, it's hard to believe they are the same people. If you missed our previous post featuring even more examples of Agakishiev’s unique work, make sure to check them out.

The difference is remarkable, but not because of age. Her hair looks healthier and the more subtle makeup suits her better. I don't see so much difference in how old she appears, she simply appears to have experienced more self-care. 🤗
Bored Panda contacted Agakishiev and asked him some questions about his work. We wanted to know what initially inspired Anar to become a makeup artist, and what motivates him to work specifically with older clients to create transformative looks. The artist from Azerbaijan shared with us: “My journey into becoming a makeup artist sparked from a realization: time is our most precious asset. As we age, its value magnifies, fueling my passion to momentarily halt time's relentless march for my clients. Focused on older individuals, I craft transformative looks that amplify not just their outer radiance but also infuse joy and confidence. It's about freezing moments, creating timeless beauty, and witnessing the joy as I accentuate their unique, timeless allure. Together, we celebrate a beauty that transcends age!”
I like this one. The hair colour suits her well. Not sure if it makes her younger, but she does look great
😳 That’s the same woman?! Good heavens! I’ve only ever been “made over” once and it involved lime green eyeshadow (something that doesn’t help one with green eyes). Now I want this woman to make me over to see what I can look like!
Anar’s work is known for highlighting the natural beauty of his clients. We were wondering how the artist balances enhancing their features while keeping the makeup look natural and age-appropriate. We found out: “Achieving a graceful and age-fitting appearance requires a blend of methods and thoughtful considerations. Emphasizing these core principles and tailoring the approach to suit the client's preferences and distinct features helps create a makeup style that elevates their innate beauty, ensuring it remains both age-suited and gracefully refined.”
She looks great and happy. Yet, I would love to see her in different kinds of looks though. This one is a bit on the heavy side. I think she would look just as great in a somewhat more natural look. This doesn't seem to fit her character. Love both hair colours on her.
Working with older clients involves addressing various signs of aging. This is why we were curious about what common challenges Anar faces, and how he tackles them to achieve such remarkable age transformations. The makeup artist told us: “Every client is unique with different facial structures and skin concerns. I need to tailor each transformation to the individual. Highlight their distinctive features and address specific concerns accordingly. Aging skin often has a different texture, including wrinkles, fine lines, dark circles, puffiness, loss of elasticity and sagging skin. Staying updated on makeup techniques and products suitable for mature skin is very important in finding products that work well with aging skin.”
I like her eyes so much as they are. I would not hide anything about them.
Wowie! I suspect she’d look even better if she were happy; her misery looks as if it weighs a couple hundred pounds. (Eeeek; I hope those pounds don’t belong to a lousy husband!)
Agakishiev's work seems to empower older women by enhancing their confidence. We asked the artist how he sees the role of makeup in empowering individuals, especially those who may feel societal pressures related to aging. We learned that: “Makeup serves as a superhero cape, empowering older women beyond appearances—it's a confidence catalyst. In a society fixated on youth, makeup becomes their declaration: ‘I'm fabulous at every stage!’ It's a rebellion against age-driven stereotypes, a means to own one's unique style, and essentially, a magical tool to embrace self-confidence and feel absolutely awesome.”
Love it. This is actually a look that fits her and she can wear whenever, wherever :) Really well done.
I wish she didn't hide the vitiligo. She is beautiful in both pictures. I hope she can appreciate her beauty both with and without covering the vitiligo. It should be her choice because of happiness not because of shame. 💖
However she handles the make-up well, I must say, I like the before picture better.
All that harsh, heavy eyeliner makes her eyes so much smaller. (I call it the “Sarah Jessica Parker effect.) She looks terrific, but would look even better with a lot less eyeliner.
Very pretty eyes but why color her hair? Her original color is so much better.
Last time I checked dark lip liner with pale lip color was not a good thing and those bedazzled eyes are not much better
I honestly think she looked best before. She is naturally stunning -- just as she is. Gorgeous features and a cute expression.
Nope - sorry. Love the hair and the eyes. Yet the rest looks overdone.
Christ! Again with the eyeliner applied with a trowel! I don’t understand why she can’t see how she’s shrinking everyone’s eyes. I seriously doubt anyone has EVER asked for their eyes to be made smaller!
I would have preferred an in-between look. She already is a beautiful woman. The very heavy make-up does not do her a favour...
Why is there a need to cover her beauty spots? Instead of hiding what makes us unique, there is a tendency to turn us into highly-filtered clones. If it is the individual's choice, that's is great. If they are giving in to social pressure, that's not so great. It makes me sad that beauty standards dismiss the unique beauty in each of us for some generic one-size-fits-all look.
I cannot stomach this anymore! PLEASE STOP.....✋🏻🚫✋🏻, JUST GIVE US REALISTIC UNEDITED PICTURES! Quit trying to make them into a "Femme Fatales"! You're WAY TOO heavy handed with the black kohl eyeliner! Not only is the color entirely too harsh for 99.99% of these women; you doubled down and applied eyeliner to the upper & lower lids and both waterlines. Not only does it make their eyes appear smaller, it ages them! The editing is ATROCIOUS! So OVER the Top they no longer have pores, moles, beauty marks, wrinkles, dark circles, bags or puffiness under eye! Okay, I feel better now!
She looks WAY too orange in the after picture. I wouldn't be happy about that either.
These women and stylist are obviously somewhere in Eastern Europe-ish and the difference in makeup from there to the US is remarkable. I feel like less is really more!
The make up is insanely thick on all of these. Cheap products badly applied. The wig on the other hand 🙃
Slap on several pounds of make up to call yourself beautiful? I'll pass, thanks.
Yes, most of them look like they're wearing painted-on masks.
Load More Replies...big nope for me, to much, too much, we do not recognize the person and everything that makes the character is erased under a ton of products.
The first couple were really good but it looks like the makeup just got darker and heavier as I scrolled on
Load More Replies...What’s the point if all of the after pictures are filtered? It’s ridiculous.
The title of this article implies that women of any age are only beautiful after having makeup put on (and in many instances put on with a trowel).
its a step up but the makeup on some was heavy but needed to cover bad skin
Load More Replies...Hey, more toxic b******t from BP! Yes, if you paint an entirely new face on someone it can make them look different in a picture. In real life, they look like someone painted a face on them There was a company called Glamour Shots that died in the early 2000's that did precisely this. You could tell someone went to glamour shots because they would walk around with an inch of make up on all day and look ridiculous. The women in these pictures look just like they're supposed to, they don't need 90 pounds of make up or your disgustingly toxic approval. S**t like this is how you can tell BP is from an eastern bloc country. Totally gross behavior towards women. "Author" Hidrėlėy is likely a real piece of s**t. People don't realize that Borat is based on actual people in eastern bloc countries like where BP is.
Arab/Muslim style make-up. 12 kilos of makeup on each cheek, instead of enhancing beauty it creates a mask that covers facial features. I think it would be better to use a real mask. It would take less time and cost less money.
Oh, is that what it is? That might explain the absurdly heavy eyeliner, which is driving me crazy. Now that you mention it, my Persian friends wear an awful lotta makeup, and I’ve not thought of a polite way to ask why. (All but two of them are otherworldly beautiful and don’t need anything save for some under eye concealer when they’re not sleeping well.) I didn’t realize that’s a thing. Thanks for the clue!
Load More Replies...In what universe are these women ELDERLY?? @Hidreley, you’ve got some karma coming your way 🤣 I can’t wait to see your own makeup transformation pics in a few years.
There's a LOT going on here. This is make-up as class aspiration: trying to look like the rich and glamorous, rather than enhancing your own features and looking like a better version of yourself. There's also the use of foundations that tend towards warm tones, regardless of the person's underlying skintone - that's also a kind of erasure. Then there's the differences in lighting between the before and after, and the use of photo editing in the after, that makes these images very hard to compare, let alone do a fair assessment of the MUA's skills. Some of these leave the women looking like drag queens or madams due to the very large amount of make-up applied and the heavy use of contouring. Lastly, I'm left wondering if this could be a reflection of a cultural beauty ideal, given that the artist is Azerbaijani. But then again, we have the Kardashians leading the charge on this style of make-up and shameless photo editing, and all the Instagram influencers merrily following along...
So the message is, cover your soul with a mask of "youthful" makeup? Do you realize what century we are in? I fully support these women using makeup in any way that they feel, but compiling them into an article, and framing intense media driven body shame as a cute human interest story is incredibly dangerous and quite frankly tacky af.
Decades younger, lol... Choose a few women who have some skin problems and take a photo of them in the worst possible light, asking them to make a face then put on outrageous makeup on them and take another photo of them asking them to smile and you look like a genius makeup artist xD
Urghh. Beauty industry, preying on women as always. Who cares if you're "beautiful" or not? Beauty standards mean absolutely nothing. Most women wouldn't feel more comfortable in makeup if it weren't what was expected of them.
It's a professional look and necessary in competitive jobs. Xerox and pharmaceutical companies used to send their sexiest bombshell women sales people. They were also smart and knew their stuff.
Load More Replies...I hope the women were pleased with the results and saw that they could be beautiful on the outside, too.
Way too much foundation. Put on with a trowel. Wrong colours and totally impractical.
C'mon BP, you used to be better than this. Transforming perfectly normal looking people so they are no longer recognizable as themselves shouldn't be something you're suggesting is a good thing.
I was so distracted by all the "after" eyebrows! They all look the same (threaded? something like that?) Not to mention, this "makeup" artist has no idea how to blend or pick tones that match skin color. The nose conturing is done with yellow and she uses a lot of orange. (This is coming from a 50 year old woman who does not wear makeup). Many of the "before" pics are taken with the light above and looking down on the woman. The "after" pics are taken with light nearly direct on the woman's face. You can tell by the white circle in some of their eyes, which some opted to change the color of. I would not show off these pics if I were the artist. I would get better at my craft or find a new occupation. How about a painter? You know, paint the outsides of homes and buildings. That requires thick paint.
Did they put this make up on with a trowel??? Must feel as awful as it looks.
Was the make-up applied with a trowel? All of their natural beauty was erased by the thick make-up.
I've done some heavy makeup before (for stage/performances) but da-amn they dipped them in paint!
No one needs a pound of stuff on their faces, fake lashes and blown out hair to be beautiful. The 'before' pics I think were just as staged as the 'after'.
If lots of too-orange make-up and a cheap hairpiece equals beauty, then Donald Trump must be stunning. Seriously, this is utter madness!
So many negative comments! No one HAS to wear makeup, and I'm sure these women weren't held at gunpoint and forced to have makeovers. As a casino cocktail waitress, I do a full face of makeup for work and enjoy applying it. I enjoy talking to other women about makeup. I take care of my skin so I look fine without it too but wearing makeup is also a choice. These looks are obviously not everyday makeup but they look great for a special occasion and I'm sure the women felt glamorous AF, felt like queens and enjoyed the attention, then washed everything off and had great memories. Let people get gussied up without reading so much into it.
I don't know why people don't get it. So many morning shows have people begging them to pick them. The husbands are always thrilled with the results.
Load More Replies...Honestly, bar three that genuinely looked healthier with the makeup on and hair done, the rest looked horrific. More like drag or sex doll. The heavy eye makeup ruined their expressions, and the caked on foundation looked 10 layers thick. There was no uniqueness or soul in their faces. Plus, they aged at least 10yrs each.

This is why I don't like lots of make-up. If I can't tell what you really look like, how could I find you attractive? (I'm obviously talking about women looking for a date, etc.)
Was this just makeup and hair? Or are they using filters as well? I would love for someone to give me a makeover like that. I have resting b***h face.
Not a fan of those heavy caked make ups at all. And does not look younger, although some have skin problems , that feel bad, cake makeup also is bad. I domot get that weird look from hollywood at all.
Hello Christel you seem to love natural. I find that very attractive, i will like to know more natural things about you.
