Weird how long I had to scroll for this when he was the internet's favorite nice guy just s couple years ago
Yep, and how nice, down to earth, and generous he is makes him even hotter ♥️🔥
Load More Replies...This guy saw a homeless person, turned around and got some pizza, drive back up to him and sat and ate with with him. Talked to him for awhile. I don't know many Celebs that would do that. Just don't mess with his dog. Lol
I don't know many people irl who would do that.....
Load More Replies...As soon as I saw the title I knew he’d be on here. Wow!! He’s number 1!
Back in the mid 90's during the shooting of "Feeling Minnesota" my friend begged me to go with her to hang around during the shoot. Afterwards he signed a CD for her and stuff for numerous other people dying to meet him. A kind, pleasant, and naturally handsome guy. A genuine class act who deserves the adoration. A highlight from my teen years. 🥰
He's a cute one. Great personality, downt-to-earth and humble person.
A friend waited on him often at a music shop where she worked. Said he really is the nicest guy!
Robin Williams rip
YourMominator added:
My old neighbor told me about when she met Robin Williams at a ski resort in Idaho. She was waiting for something and had a cup of hot cocoa in the cafe, when this guy in a white ski suit comes and asks if he and his ski instructor can sit with her, she agrees. They sit down and she realizes who he is. She introduced herself and then she said that he made her laugh for about a half hour. She said that he spilled his own hot cocoa all over himself as well. Funny guy, messy drinker. I sure miss him.
I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again ...this man was screaming out for help in his final days...I just wish I could go back in time and talk him off that ledge. We all loved you Robin May you RIP
He had Lewy Body Dementia. He would've left us too soon eventually, so I am thinking at least he took control over it before it was out of his hands
Load More Replies...Hands down, the nicest, most down to earth celebrity I've had the privilege of meeting!!
Every time I see him I still feel a bit sad. Thanks Robin for all of the fun times and giving life to one of the best cartoon characters ever.
It makes me even more sad about how he went- that he thought suicide was his only option. He was so great and didn't realize it.
Seeing a picture of him breaks my heart all over again every time. He was such a beautiful person.
I think about him all the time watching new movies and going Robin Williams would of been fabulous for this role. It just makes watching Aladdin and Jumanji so much more meaningful. I got a bit chuffed when I saw the new Jumanji and they had the Allan tribute. Cause now I feel like it's also a Robin Williams tribute.
Dolly Parton
poizyn64 added:
And Dolly has an amazing sense of humor and is so approachable and kind. When there was a fire in pigeon forge TN and many were displaced she gave families money for a certain amount of time. It didn’t seem like much per family but in rural TN esp in the residential areas there’s a lot of poverty so prices aren’t as high there. Also she is unafraid to advocate for so many causes and groups. She is a DOLL. She’s part of TN that I’m not ashamed of. She will definitely speak to you if you ever meet her. Love her! I’ve said it already but her humor is the best. Lol.
Her Imagination Library has given millions of books to children over the years & that's only one facet of her generous spirit. I want to be her when I grow up.
She knows where she came from and hasnt forgotten. The same can’t be said about a lot of celebrities today .
I didn't read this properly at first and thought it was saying how she helped the families of pigeons.
Before I clicked on this list, she was the first person I thought of. Dolly seems like a genuine and caring person.
Rick Moranis. I mean, the guy literally gave up his acting career to be a full time Stay-At-Home Dad when his wife died...
He is actually coming back to acting and working on a reboot of "Honey I Shrunk the Kids" and I am so excited.
I was so angry when I read someone had just sucker punched him into the hospital on the street randomly some time ago. The puncher didn’t even know who he was. What damage does a person have to even do something like that?
I'm still angry that someone would run up and punch Rick Moranis in the face.
Betty White.
youreyesmystars added:
She and the other three cast members (Bea Arthur, Rue McClanahan, and Estelle Getty) along with Angela Lansbury all deserve the adoration and recognition that they get. I could go on and on about why each specific woman listed on here is just so amazing.
Betty White should be nominated for Sainthood. All of the Golden Girls were class acts, but Betty's animal activism gives her the edge.
Sainthood would be an insult to the memory of Betty White.
Load More Replies...When Betty White had a variety show on television in the early 1950s, she often featured a talented dancer who happened to be black. Southern station owners complained, and the network asked her to use him less. Instead, she used him more and had no regrets when they cancelled the show.
Arthur Duncan (the dancer you're referring to) is still alive! He's 86 (I think) and is very grateful for Betty White.
Load More Replies...Look up Betty White hates Ryen Reynolds, best ongoing bit. When no one's looking she gives Ryan the business. So funny.
When she passed, God, it took a few hours but my husband waited for my breakdown. It happened and he was there to catch me. Her passing was the end of an era, and she is so dearly missed but we are all so happy to have known her both as an actress and a terrific person.
If you are in the US, don´t miss The Golden Girls reruns late at night on Hallmark and CMT channels.
Up until just a few years ago Betty White would answer her own fan mail. A true 1 of a kind person.
Alan Rickman, he made an ahole like Snape somewhat likeable. But honestly, never heard anyone say anything bad about him. But I am young, in relative terms, to his career.
Recommend 'Robin Hood Prince of Theives' just for Le Shérif of Nottingham. RIP Alan Rickman, you are much missed kind sir.
Daniel Radcliffe wrote about Alan Rickman after he died, and said that he was so supportive of the child actors and treated them like peers, not kids. And he went to see Daniel in all his stage performances in the years after Harry Potter.
It's because they recognize the humanity in even the worst person.
Load More Replies...He was an incredibly nice man and a great talent. Adored him in Galaxy Quest and Die Hard.
Or you'll do what, exactly? Hit me with that ffffffish?
Load More Replies...I love when Harry and Ron kept talking during study hall and he would hit them in the head with books
Omg yess, and when he found Harry walking around with the map in the Prisoner of Azkaban, it was even funnier when Lupin appeared in the corridor as well

Brendan Fraser, dude went through hell both [physically & emotionally from back injuries & being sexually violated] and is finally coming back to Hollywood. Dude is as friendly and humble as he ever was and I wish him the best. Additionally Rick Moranis who was once a big name as the nerdy guy everyone loved ([Even Sexiest Man Alive Ryan Reynolds]. Dude gave it all up to raise his kids after his wife died.
Brendan did not deserve to go through what he did. He’s an amazing man and actor that deserves the very best. I hope he knows that there are people that will always have his back no matter what.
No one deserves to come to harm, unless it is the consequences of their own wrong choices.
Load More Replies...He is now on Doom Patrol, a must see series thats doing extremely well. It's right up there with "The Boys"
He may have left Hollywood, but he never left the minds of those of us who already adored him!! Nothing but happy for his happiness (and he's always been my dream guy, sigh!)
That’s such a good movie!! Although I’d have to say my favorite was Dustfinger.
Load More Replies...I would fully embrace Brendan Fraser coming back to acting. 🥰 I should throw a Brendan Fraser movie night, and start with Encino Man!
Awesome actor, great person. I hope he keeps on recovering. And even if he doesn't, he's still great
The Mummy movie from 1999 is probably one of his most memorable films, and he provides voiceover for Robotman in the show Doom Patrol. And as J Doe said, there is Encino Man.
Load More Replies...I'm so glad he's getting a comeback... Not that he ever should have had to have a comeback, but I'm happy he is. I have missed him on the screen l.
Mr. Rogers
freedo333 added:
I wouldnt even be friends with anyone that hated Mr Rogers. I love Mr Rogers :)
A blind child listened to his show. She was always worried about his fish. When he found out, he started announcing when he fed the fish.
There was a story on NPR years about about two guys that stole Mr. Rogers car in the 90's. Once they found out it was his car, they returned it with a note of apology.
Its a beautiful day in the neighborhood, a beautiful day for a neighbor. Would you be mine? Could you be miiine?
In his private life, he was an active opponent of racial discrimination.
Yes, indeed, but he didn't keep it private. Great video with the black "cop" (he was an actor) he shared a kiddy pool with on air (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ObHNWh3F5fQ) during a time when black people trying to swim in pools with white folks were ostracized. Some even had bleach poured into the pools, it was insane. In his own beautiful quiet way, Mr. Rogers said "I don't think so!" to that nonsense. All these years later, we found out the actor was gay and Mr. Rogers was just freakin' fine with that, too. The man was a saint and we didn't deserve him.
Load More Replies...Ate only vegetables, because, and I quote " I don't like to eat anything that ahd a mother", he also did exercised every day, laps in a pool. Still died too young. Makes you wonder makes you think if diet and exercise is really that important.
He was amazing. I also really like the fact that he saw his crew as family, and would joke with them after every shoot. He was so comfortable with them that he would routinely flip them off. rogers-bir...2e-png.jpg
It should be online some where. Still good. ^_^ If ya find it, take some relaxation time, get cozy (or cool? Depending on the weather?) And enjoy. ^_^
Load More Replies...I loved Mr. Rogers growing up. Definitely watched the show long past the time I was supposed to be too old. Sometimes if I see an old show I used to watch on PBS, I'll turn it on for a few minutes. I'm in my 30s btw...
Sir Patrick Stewart and Sir Ian McKellen
The friendship between these two is some of the most heartwarming stuff you’ll ever see :)
Confession time: I had a thing for Captain Picard back in the day. Then Sir PatStew was in the first X-Men and he and Sir Ian gave such old married couple having a disagreement ™ energy that I ended up reading and watching them way more than is healthy and they're just so nice bros that it warms your heart.
Oh my God me too I told my dad I was going to marry him I was like what maybe 10 also his portrayal as captain of the Star Trek Enterprise dwarfed Shatner's in my opinion
Load More Replies...He is a strong feminist. As a child his father suffered from PTSD from his war service, and let's say his mother was not treated well. So sad.
I think Sir Patrick Stewart lightened up a lot at the very beginning of Star Trek: TNG. There's a story of him at least talking sternly, if not yelling at the cast for not acting professionally, when they were just having fun, but then later on being the worst of the bunch. His love of Pit Bulls, and his actions since TNG have made him a legend in my book. I'd love to meet them man.
He once tore into Seth McFarland, created of family guy and American Dad. Patrick Stewart does a lot of voice acting for American Dad. Apparently Seth said some thing that we're inappropriate and let Seth know. There's an interview on you tube of Seth talking about it.
I remember a few years back when he married someone my sister's age. Yeah, we were a little jealous. Not even gonna lie. 🤣
Sir Patrick Stewart voices Deputy Bullock on American Dad. I crack up a some of the things they get him to say. If he had a fight with Seth like someone mentioned, it must’ve been really bad\ offensive dialogue they wanted him to say (or content of the episode). He was also born to be Professor Xavier! Sir Ian McKellen is the same with Magneto. Of course Gandalf is great as well, but I saw him in a show called Viscous and it was so weird to see him do comedy.
I love this guy, he's is a massive advocate for rescue dogs, especially pitbulls. Watching him fall in love with a pittie he fostered made me worship him even more x
Sir David Attenborough
NormalJoee added:
My dad hates him because he made a bet with me that I wouldn’t know the name of the guy narrating the show we were watching. Easy $50
Shiny_Hypno added:
This man is trying so hard to make the world a better place and we keep fuc*ing it up for him.
You know, in a documentary he narrated he said this about jellyfish " they have survived without a brain for millions of years. A ray of hope for some of my BBC colleagues." I bet wasn't in the script!
This man was interviewed by Barack Obama. Whilst Obama was still a sitting President! How’s that for influential?
A Life on our Planet should be a mandatory to watch for everyone on Earth.
I love this man! I watched so many of his documentaries while pregnant that I was convinced my son would recognize Sir David Attenborough's voice when he was born. He's three now and still calms right down when he hears Attenborough's voice❤️ he's a kind soul, I love seeing the videos of him as a young man, working for nat Geo, or getting close to the most amazing and beautiful unheard creatures! Children everywhere should be taught by his documentaries, in school, to understand the vast problems confronting our earth, our animals, our climate, and learn how we are all really more connected than we realize❤️
Lovely man. Anyone who can introduce a bird called the penduline tit without sounding mucky is a legend
I absolutely adore him. His way of speaking about biology is simply enetrtaining and heartwarming, always brings this warm feeling in your heart when you see someone's passion.

A_DifferentOpinion added:
Literally never heard anyone hate him before, it’s funny to me that he was a drill sergeant before he was painting
A drill sergeant? Let's put a happy little salute over here, just wherever your heart desires.
He was so soft spoken because he didn't want to shout anymore
Load More Replies...A truly good person. Shame his son got robbed of his legacy by the awful people in his company.
He taught me how to paint just by watching his show. And painting gave me an escape from my worst days
I always loved how his show was basically a follow-a-long format. And as he painted he'd make suggestions about how your painting could look and that it was okay if it was different than his.
Load More Replies...I once saw a picture of him with his military haircut. Totally unrecognizable, but still very cute
It's a shame that some people are using his name to sell art products.
Are you talking about the art supply company he himself founded? If not, I'm sure he still wouldn't care. It would be more important to him people had the supplies for painting.

Maggie Smith

The answer I didn't know I was looking for. Even though I hardly know anything about her, I feel strangely confident that she is a wonderfully amazing and interesting individual. Just thinking about her makes me smile.
Maggie, Judy Dench and Estelle Winwood are 3 of my all time favorite grand ladies!
Add Helen Mirran to that list and you got my favourites!
Load More Replies...I was in a bookshop once and was trying to buy a Harry Potter book for my son with an expired voucher. A voice behind me said ' oh let me buy it for him , if a boy wants a book, a boy must have a book. I was in the film you know ..' Turned around and there she was. She signed the book and said 'it might be worth something when I'm dead'. Fabulous.
I read somewhere that she was a bit bent after Downton Abbey took off & cost her her privacy. Can't blame her for that in the least. She's a total class act.
That's weird, she was already very well-known before Downton Abbey, and had already been in the Harry Potter movies too. I wonder why Downton Abbey was the one that cost her her privacy.
Load More Replies...Not to mention she gifted the world with Toby Stephens, for which I am eternally grateful. :p
Watch her in the old Othello movie - she is not only amazing but STUNNING!
I love Dame Maggie Smith so much that I named my car Maggie after her!
Look for the episodes of the Carol Burnette Show in which Maggie Smith was a guest star. She is so brilliantly funny.❤️
I always favored Margaret Rutherford -- movie's original Ms Marple. Face like a horse but she was so interesting to watch and listen to! She did lots of movies, Peter Sellers like working with her, and cameo appearances all over the place in her day. Miss her still.
Steve Irwin. RIP
He went out doing what he loved. I often wonder if he hadn't pulled the barb out if he would have lived. They say when you have a puncture wound to leave the object in because it's stopping the blood.
Load More Replies...We miss him but he left us while doing what made him (and us) happy. If it has to happen, we should all hope for that kind of exit.
I cried and cried. Then cried more when Bindi went on Dancing With the Stars and did her tribute to him. He was my hero. Discovery + had his show and it's so wonderful. He was so ahead of his time.
Aw man. I do miss this guy a lot. I loved the show it sucks so much that his love of animals killed him..
Rest well, sir. You've earned it. I'm glad to see your children carrying on the path you started for them :)
LeVar Burton. Great actor, host of a treasured children's show, and never involved in any kind of drama from what I can remember.
My dad used to say he was wearing a banana clip on his eyes
Load More Replies...I did a lot of baby sitting in high school and college, back (way back) in the day. I always brought tapes of Reading Rainbow for them to watch. For this program alone, he should be showered with awards.
Load More Replies...Raise ur hand if this man had u running around with a headband on ur eyes as a kid
best thing i know about this guy (probably because i worked in this field) was that when he first came on the scene acting in 'roots' he hooked up with someone else (minor actress/extra) during the filming. she ended up pregnant but he never knew about it until a few years later. but, once he discovered he was the father he stepped up regarding support, etc.
What he told his sons about being pulled over is sobering. He told them to roll down the windows and put their hands on the outside of the door so the officers would know they are not a threat. I was born and raised here, but sometimes it sucks living in the US.
I helped him at Adventure 16 in LA, for about an hour, when I was going through college. He was going to the Sundance film festival and needed everything, basically. He was such a gracious and nice guy. People were coming up to him every so often and he was just super nice to them. I kept hearing the reading rainbow song, started humming it by accident. Ah well. He is Geordi, he will understand.
A very beautiful man that could make practically anything interesting and entertaining.
Christopher Lee. Fought in WWII, played Dracula, a wizard, a Sith Lord, and many other roles. He also was in a metal band.
I was just about to ask about that! An amazing person
Load More Replies...I remembered him doing an interview with I think Michael Parkinson and he told a story about him and his wife touring in Transylvania , when their car broke down in the middle of nowhere. He said they hiked through the woods until they saw a cottage with a light on. Knocked on the door to ask for help and the guy who answered said "it's him!" and fainted lol 😆
In an interview he said he knows what it sounds like when someone gets stabbed in the back
I bet Peter Jackson wasn't ready for that kind of critic from an actor! 😲😃 (Lord of the ring)
Load More Replies...I could hear this man talk for hours. Rest in Power you legendary badass 🤘🖤🤘
Lee was a major Tolkien fan, reading The Hobbit and the Lord of the Rings trilogy once a year for the majority of his life. He was the only member of the movie cast to have met Tolkien personally — apparently he ran into him randomly in a pub — and fanboyed out. Tolkien actually gave him his blessing to play Gandalf in any future Lord of the Rings movie.
ALWAYS loved his diction -- you could understand every word. And that stare!
I first became aware of him as he brilliantly played Lord Summerisle. Lord-Summe...5509d2.jpg
Dame Judi Dench. I never see anyone talking any s**t about her. She's renowned for her acting and her personality all things considered.
My favorite story is vin diesel teaching her to play dungeons and dragons so now she dms for her grandkids
Wait, really? That is so unbelievably amazing and wholesome-
Load More Replies...Saw her on Graham Norton once. Whenever there's downtime on a set, she sews and embroiders pillows, blankets and doilies for her fellow castmates...and all them have curse words stitched into them!
And now she's Old Deuteronomy. Who'd ever have thought? I have a great deal of respect for this lady
She reminds me of those old ladies that truly give zero efs and is quite the sailor with her friend lol.
Um, am I the only one that remembers her defending Kevin Spacey and Hervey Weinstein?? Pretty indefensible people.
Steve Buscemi
Steve risked his life on 9/11 voluntarily firefighting. He was a trained fireman.
He was a NYFD member way back and reported back to his old hall. Kept it quiet, just showed up to help.
Load More Replies...at one time he and Angelina Jolie looked alike Buscemi-l7...b4df0f.jpg

Steve Buscemi is a very good man—I know from experience in NYC working with a lot of famous people. He is incredibly generous and kind and humble and really nice to be around.
Paul Rudd
Seems like the type of guy to come home and talk about his day with his wife over bland spaghetti.
Ha! I saw that episode of Celebrities read mean tweets.
Load More Replies...Upvote for Jody, for commenting exactly what is was thinking, saving me the time to type it. Then i'm typing this , which makes enjoyable non-sense
Load More Replies...I hate that Paul Rudd is older than me, but I definitely look older. Get old like the rest of us you dracula. But yeah, love his moves. Comes off as very cool regular guy in his interviews.
Oh heck I was so sure he was younger than me...
Load More Replies...Fell in love with him in Clueless, super hot and a pretty good character. He hasn't disappointed me since.
It’s interesting: as a boring, old, mum-type, I usually have NO idea about any celebrities or anything in popular culture (Kardashian-who?). But even I know almost all the people you haven’t known, here (and I’m not even American). I can only assume you are not a person who wastes their life in front of a screen whenever you get bored in which case, I say, well done, Shyla!
Load More Replies...He is a magical creature that never ages and possesses the best sense of humor. He was People’s last sexiest man alive (they aren’t doing that feature anymore) and I feel that is a sign he is king of all men. His “audition” for the job on Late Night with Stephen Colbert is hilarious.
My favourite ever line is from Forgetting Sarah Marshall, where he plays a lovable idiot. 'Is she really ginger?' 'Who cares, as long as the carpet matches her pubes...'
Paul rudd is my favorite. Watching any of his interviews make me smile. He trolled Conan for years too, so funny.. anyone who doesn't know about it should look up "Paul Rudd Mac and Me"
Danny Devito
When he and his wife, Rhea Perlman, were filming Matilda, Mara Wilson's (who played Matilda) mum was dying of cancer. It is well known that Danny and Rhea took Mara under their wing and really looked after her during and after the filming. They also took an almost finished cut of the movie to the hospital, so that Mara's mum could watch it shortly before she died. X
DeVito auditioned for "Taxi" as a relative unknown. When it was his turn, he took the script and went immediately into character, jumping up on the table then yelling "OK, which one of you a**holes wrote this sh*t?" The producers said that they knew they had found their Louie.
I worked with his daughter Lucy and met him in dad mode when he came to set. Just as wonderful as you would imagine him to be. Same goes for Rhea. Just great people.
One of Danny DeVito's first roles was as an institutionalized mental patient in "One Flew Over the Cukoo's Nest." It's Always Sunny did a parody of it (Sweet Dee Has a Heart Attack).
Load More Replies...He went on to do Sunny in Philadelphia because his kids loved the show.
He and his wife financially supported my middle school band and orchestra for years, maybe decades because their daughter went there prior to me attending in 1994.
I’ve only ever heard good things about Hugh Laurie
Stephen Fry is a magnificent human and I adore him.

I've never heard negative s**t about Tony Hawk

He should make reservations as Anthony Hawkins. Close enough, right?
Load More Replies...I love hearing stories of people telling him he looks like Tony Hawk, or that he's got the same name as Tony Hawk.
He was one of my idols as a kid! I'm a girl but I loved skateboarding but always got s**t from guys. Tony was a big part of my childhood!
David Tennant is probably one of the sweetest human beings eho have ever walked this earth.
He was amazing as the 10th Doctor as well as all of his other movies and tv shows.
My favourite is when he and Catherine Tate did the school sketch for Comic Relief. If you haven't seen it, look on YouTube. He gets more Scottish the angrier he gets!
Him being starstruck by Julie Andrews and bowing to her is the sweetest thing to watch.
Same goes for John Barrowman. He literally spent time talking to everyone when I met him, and shared his candy with kids. Favorite person I’ve met so far, and I’ve met a lot of famous folk.
Alas, he also chose to share his candy with his fellow actors and they weren't impressed! Love the guy, hope we see him onscreen again soon.

Julie Andrews
Listened to an NPR interview with her and she had a really toxic, abusive and difficult childhood.
Which may explain why anyone who mistreats people on her movie sets is soon dealing with the decidedly non-sugary version of Mary Poppins.
Load More Replies...Love her. Had the pleasure of seeing her live and singing with her (along with the entire audience). But, BP, please explain this weird photo of her?
with the sound of muuuuuuussssssssssssiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiccccccccccc
Load More Replies...Imagine being the guy who screwed up her throat surgery. 'Yeah, I ruined Mary Poppins' singing voice...'
Turns out later she discovered it was actually permanent vocal strain that prevents her from singing now.

Tom hanks
Like Sara Lee, NOBODY doesn't like Tom Hanks! Learning that he was actually related to Mr Rogers, whom he portrayed, is like icing on the cake.
I'm sure I heard when Christopher Reeves had his accident he stepped up and helped him out financially. Ensuring he kept his home.
I don’t enjoy his films (at least not the ones he’s done since the 80s) but he seems like a really decent, upstanding,, unproblematic person.
John Ritter was not just the nicest celebrity i got to meet, everyone on the set gushed about working with him, he was really one of the nicest people. When interviewing him for our yearbook since he was filming a scene with our school in the background he let me sit with him while prepping for a sad scene. He kept raving about how amazing the little kids in the background had been all day (hot Utah summer day), the crew and explained the scene in full detail. I'm freaking 17 and blown away by this class act treating me like any reporter.
That's a nice story, but when I met him (at a no nukes or ERA event or something like that in the early '80s), he was inebriated and all grabby hands with my friend who was the ASL interpreter.
Yet again, one incident from decades ago and the man is no longer “ worthy” ? Also, no longer around to defend themselves. Balance this one comment against thousands of positive, glowing accounts and make your own judgement.

Any time anyone has a story about what a lovely bloke he is, someone around the room has another one about he's even nicer
Glad he’s getting some love here, he kinda got crapped on in the Freddie Mercury Panda post a few weeks back. Dude’s a boss, and was key to Queen’s success. Despite how much I adore Freddie, Queen was far more than one man!
People keep forgetting Queen is more than one person and then get annoyed that they're still touring. I was born after Freddie died, too young to see them with Paul Rogers but got to see them 5x (hopefully more!) with Adam Lambert and visit Disneyland bc of them (flew from London to LA to see them)
Load More Replies...He was very protective of Freddie’s image when Sasha Baron Coen wanted to do his Queen movie. I think Coen would’ve portrayed a good Freddie, he just wanted to take the story into the darker stuff and May (and the rest of the band I’m sure) just weren’t going to let it happen.
From my memory, he was great each time he appeared on Spicks and Specks, had some great stories to tell. Wasn't arrogant either, which you can't say about all musicians.
Weird Al Yankovic
Edit: no h
Brilliant man and a better songwriter than many of the acts he parodies.
I once told my high school students that the Weird Al version of a song is often the only version I know. They said the same was true with them.
Load More Replies...Had the pleasure of seeing him live 3 times. A truly TRULY amazing talent. Possibly one of the best performers I have ever seen.
Daniel Radcliffe is going to be playing him in a biopic. I have a hard time envisioning it, but Weird Al said he wanted Daniel to do it.
He performed a concert the day he found out his parents had died in a gas leak. He felt it was better to keep going than to sit around crying.
See, Hollywood? It IS possible to have a decades long career with zero controversies and not being a raging a*****e!!!

I regularly walk my dog in my housecoat and when someone calls me Dude, I feel respect for them, especially because I'm female. It's the robe that cinches it.
It’s funny that the compliments about his hair never seem snarky or sexist. Just a beautiful head of hair!!! So very glad he’s bouncing back👏🏼💋

The greatest moment of my life to date was when Terry Pratchett remembered my name. Many years ago, Terry Pratchett came to New Zealand on a book signing tour following the publication of Small Gods. A friend, (A), and I went along, but being total introverts, ended up at the end of the line to have our books signed. The photographer from the local paper waited until there were only a couple of us left before asking to take photos. Yeah. I'm in the paper with Terry Pratchett! A couple of years later, I was living in Japan, but had gone back to NZ for a visit. On the way back to Japan, I stop for a few days to see my old friend A. He was now working as a manager of a bookstore and Terry Pratchett was on a book signing tour, but A couldn't go because the book signing was in a different branch of chain he worked for. So I went to the book signing with 2 copies of the same book. When I got to the front, I asked if he could sign "for A", and he said "But your name's Hatstand."
I attended an evening with him (you know, a talky audience thing) just as Raising Steam was being released. Could not stop crying. Only time I have been properly starstruck.
Love his books & his hats, what a brilliant man. I can't even pick a favourite character, sometimes it's Carrot & then I'm like, no it's Vimes & then I start laughing at Colon & Nobby Nobs... so it's impossible to choose.
Me too. Sometimes I go on a Vimes kick, sometimes it's Granny Weatherwax, sometimes it's Carrot or Rincewind or Tiffany or Susan (Although, reading Thief of Time can problematic if I don't have some See's Candy (absolutely delicious- can buy it online) to nibble on).

I just started to read (or listen) to the Discworld series. I've only finished a few, but I am hooked & can't wait to keep exploring!
I said olivia newton John
ONJ has left a legacy that will save so many. Thank you Olivia for you music, your kindness and your ONJ Cancer Wellness & Research Centre. You are missed,
I had the absolute joy of meeting her when I was 10 years old in 1978. My dad was working on her TV special she did with Andy Gibb and ABBA. I was a HUGE fan of hers. Grease was about to come out and she debuted "Hopelessly Devoted To You" on the show. I met her when she was in curlers with no makeup on in her dressing room and she was the kindest, most beautiful person I had ever met. She went out of her way to make my day, and I've loved her ever since. My dad said that she was the loveliest person he's met in his 40 plus year career. I will treasure those memories forever. RIP Olivia
I still can't believe she's been gone a week. Xanadu is one of my favorite songs to sing along to.
You can dislike john cena but you can't hate the record of make a wish appearance he did
Another person who feels deep empathy for children. You don't have to like his ties to China, but you can't deny his philanthropy.
I used to think he was a bit of a tool when he first came onto the scene.
I'm impressed that he took the time to learn Mandarin, that's not easy!!
Does Make-A-Wish still take kids on hunts to kill Bambi like they did in the 70s, 80s and 90s?
Michael Caine
That's *Sir* Michael to you. Fun fact he didn't legally change his name til 2016. He hated that he kept being stopped at airports etc (post 9/11, ISIS etc) as his name was different on his passport
Sir Maurice Micklewhite is the name he used when receiving the accolade.
Load More Replies...He did an hour-long interview back in the day with a local TV show ("The Dini Petty Show", early '90s) and I scored tickets for a friend and I. It took much more than an hour, of course, and that man was a delight the entire time. Not just ON when the camera was, you know? Signed autographs and took pictures during the breaks, he was just an open, warm and genuine guy.
Kermit
When Jim Hensen passed away we lost two very loved individuals. RIP Jim and Kermie.
At least now he won't have to be harrassed by Piggy....
Load More Replies...Kermie! I wish there was a Kermie emoji. I make is :S face often and just have to say Kermie.
Kermit was supposed to be buried with Jim, but they didn't do it because they wanted the money.
I have been a part of the Henson/Muppet fandom for decades now (online since 1996 with The Sesame Street Lyrics Archive and a fan since I was a child 50-odd years ago) and have never heard this horrible tidbit before. You do know that the Kermit puppet in use now is not the same as the original, right? It wouldn't have made any difference if they had "buried" Kermit, which they never intended to do. Please don't spread this utter nonsense any further.
Load More Replies...Jim Henson was not a perfect person. Still, his influence on the last 50 years is undeniable. Truly gone too soon.
I never understood if him & Miss Piggy were together or if he just lead her on 🙄
Lassie. Her talent
Oh my God, I finally see it! I've heard people say this before but always thought that it's obvious he's a male because Timmy always referred to him as "boy". Buuut, as of 8:07 am, on this day, Friday, August 12th, it has finally dawned on me that Lassie is a word that means young girl. I have no words. I can't believe it took me this long.
Load More Replies...I think they should re-make Lassie and have the title role played by a cat. Imagine little Timmy stuck in the well and Lassie the cat yawns, pukes a hairball, and then goes to sleep on the sofa.
No idea why, but I always pictured Lassie as a male dog 😂 I never actually sat down and watched it, but have known since childhood that it’s about a hero dog (I’m from Sweden). I guess little me just assumed that being brave/a hero is for boys and it just became the truth in my mind with Lassie being male.
Most famous dogs in movies have generally been male. (Rin Tin Tin, Benji,…) easy to assume. I always thought Lassie was a boy too….until ‘he’ had puppies in the tv series.😂
Load More Replies...I will never forget the episode, where Timmy fell down the well and Lassie rescued him.
Steve Zahn. I've never heard a bad word about him, he plays really quirky parts, and my stepdad went to high school with him
He lives in my state close to my city, never met him but he is a regular at one of my favorite (dive) restaurants. They have said how nice he is he is just an overall good person. He keeps a pretty low profile around here. He lets his wife shine as she does/did run a non-profit theater group.
Christopher Lee
I think you're confusing him with Christopher Reeve. Christopher Lee was not in any Superman film.

There isn't one. Someone out there will hate them for no reason even if they're a great person.
Audrey Hepburn. Such a sweetheart. There is a clip of an interview where she had just returned from doing a movie. The interviewer is trying to get her to say some dirt about her costars but she just smiles and is charming and lovely.
Gregory Peck insisted on sharing top billing with her in "Roman Holiday." He knew Audrey Hepburn was going to be a big star. Also in the Mouth of Truth scene she didn't know Peck was going to fake losing his hand. Hepburn's fright/surprise is genuine. I love that movie!!

What? No Harry Winkler or Ron Howard? I don't recall hearing anything but praise for either of them. While not that it a good man makes, both of them have been married to the same (but different lol) women for over 40 years.
Michael Sheen is genuinely the most wonderful and humble of celebrities. I was lucky enough to meet him in Cardiff a few years ago for the Homeless World Cup football competition. The competition was about to fall through due to lack of funds, so Michael literally sold his US house to fund the project singlehandedly. He's now a "not-for-profit" actor and donates any profit he makes to charity. He's currently working wonders at funding a project to help underprivileged kids here in Wales get into acting. National hero! 🏴
Morgan Freeman has had his personal issues, but he's a fantastic actor.
Load More Replies...I used to work Comicon for the free admission, so I've met a lot of celebrities. Mark Hamil is probably the nicest celebrity I have ever met, and defiantly in the top ten nicest humans. Carrie Fisher is (was, RIP) right up there, except she threw glitter on me. Lou Ferrigno is a giant sweetheart who gets little kid excited if you know sign language.
