Look, everyone has bad days, everyone has their own struggles, and there are moments when everyone thinks of giving up. But also, everyone deserves a nudge in the right direction, some advice and wisdom, and some encouragement. There’s no shame in getting inspired by others, and we need some motivation to draw from time to time.

The illustrations of Success Pictures, the Instagram account with over 800k followers, are just about that. Its motivational pictures with deep meaning focus on positive affirmation and inspire people to keep pushing through and achieve hard-earned and well-deserved success. Some of them give useful advice or even wisdom; others just remind us about the realities of life. Whatever it is, the key message is simple—never give up and persevere!

However, not all of these success quotes are about positive thinking. Some of them provide a critique of our society and its ills and remind us about what’s really important (spoiler: it’s not the likes or the money).

The author reminds people to be compassionate and generous towards others, as you may never know what they’re going through or that you won't end up in their place. Here and there, you can find some profound ideas hidden behind simply illustrated imagery.

Because too many on here crave the attention. If they can't get attention and upvotes for being kind or generous, they won't do it. Kind of like most Christians. "Look, Jesus! I'm giving a coat to this cold child!" Just f*****g do it without expecting the f*****g ticker-tape parade. And this is not a generational thing- Yeah, Millenials do it, but so do Boomers and members of every other generation.

Most of these cartoons are about "doing good". Ironically, a large number of these are not original, and are copied from other cartoonists. Don't copy other people's work and not give them credit.

Well rather do the good deed for wrong reasons than not at all. I feel good doing small things, which ultimately makes it a selfish thing... But would it be better if I didn't do it at all or didn't volunteer my work, time or money for a good cause?

I believe, do whatever is right for you, if it take you taking a selfie for you to help someone, then do you but as long as it is helping someone at the end of the day. We are not the same, some of us want our ego stroked so we do s**t like this, and some of us just put change in the donation box at the shop.

All in all, there’s much to like about these motivational pictures for success, and there are lots of great ideas to get inspired by. Whatever it is, let’s hope it’ll help you get through a rough day or achieve your own goals.

It may not be as easy as it may seem, and life is definitely more nuanced than the illustrations might portray, but they still provide an insight that someone may desperately need. In other words, they may not be the end goal, but they won't steer you away from the right path.

Let me guess, you're a thinking American and not one of these stupid "the other party sucks" morons. I weep for my country full of retards that allow their party to manipulate them into demonizing half of the country because they are too dense to see what s going on. I'm looking mostly at you, Trumptards and GOP, but the DNC is guilty as well. THINK FOR YOURSELVES! The "other party" brings value to the country as well but you're too focused on "they want to steal your guns" or "they don't care about the poor" bullshit to see NEITHER party really gives a s**t about you. Instead of parroting the hate from your party, just shut up and listen to each other. I promise you, you'll see you really have the same goals in mind but just have a different path to get there. You aren't going to get there if you keep trying to jerk the steering wheel to your side instead of sharing the steering wheel and coordinating the movements. This requires communication that NEITHER party wants you to do.

Some people wear their struggles as a badge of honor and feel it is necessary to constantly remind you of their suffering. They don't want your help; they want your pity. The best thing you can do for them is ignore their constant whining for attention and be brutally honest with them. They;ll either snap out of their "I'm a victim" paradigm and accept your help or they will see you're not going to give them the attention they crave and go away. Either way- win-win for you.

I think you may have missed the point. How many times have you been struggling with something and a stranger makes it worse by saying, or doing, something rude. That is the point. Even the people who you are calling a-holes have inner complexities that you are not aware of. Also, stooping to their level doesn't make you a better person, it just makes you also an asshole.

I'm in the group that life was MUCH harder in school. I would rather take most any obstacle on rather than have to go back to middle or high school again. Life is a cake walk compared to school.

Wrong! College is the hardest, worst, most depressing, loneliest six years of your life. Everything is much easier and happier once you graduate.

I have always thought about how your entire life you work to get the top elementary School you work to get to 5th grade (or 6th depends on where you are) then you go to middle school the youngest kids in school again then you get to high school and your at the bottom then graduate your at the top of you choose to go to college once again at the bottom then been you finally get out of that your the new person at work and have to work your way to the top life is a never-ending cycle of work and everyone is always gonna try to get to the top

What I don't like about this, is that it makes it look like "unsuccessful" people just don't have the right attitude. Yes, you can learn from your failures and use them to your advantage next time. But you also need a big portion of luck turning them into success. Sometime the best you can do is simply recover. It's not all about the sheer will of wanting to be successful.

Not sure you do. Singing and playing is not a sign that they love their situation. Birds will stay in cages because they are so used to their environment they become conditioned. For instance, it is a common problem with long term prisoners let out - they don't cope well with their freedom because it scares them. They are conditioned to being locked up even though they get an hour's exercise in a yard. I'm not against the keeping of birds - these are domesticated and that's not going to change. Though anyone truly wanting to provide the best circumstances for a bird would give them an aviary or similar sized space so that it is their choice to fly at any point they wish. A bird choosing to stay in an open cage is not choosing because of love of the cage, they are 'choosing' due to conditioning.

Some people are just drama queens looking for attention, but others, it really is the worst pain they have ever experienced. Take a toddler, they scrap their knee and cry. It hurts more than anything they have experienced in their short life. It is my theory that as you grow older you have more perspective and control over the pain.

I agree with pretty much everything you say, but my mother would prove your theory incorrect. She is in her 70s and complains about every single thing. My dad has MS, blood cancer, AFib, COPD, and is always happy, smiling, and never complains. He actually slipped on the icy driveway past week and fell. He brushed it off as nothing. 2 days later, I see a giant bulge on his side. I insisted he go to hospital and after an argument, he went. 4 broken ribs later, he still isn't complaining. At the same time, my mom and daughter were playing. My daughter "tickled" my mom by wiggling her fingers on her belly. Hours later I get a call from my mother that her "stomach is still burning" from where my daughter tickled her.

I hate the misuse of 'karma' in popular culture. It means 'works' or 'deeds' and the idea of 'getting what you deserve' refers exclusively to when you are reincarnated. That is, if you do good things, you will have a higher status in your next life, and if you do bad things, a lower status. (I don't believe in this, BTW, it's just what karma actually means in Eastern religions)

You can be thankful without comparison. Being grateful isn't about saying, "I'm thankful that I have a home because others don't". Being grateful is just, "I'm thankful to have a home."

My life was rock bottom, an edge of a cliff I’m walking in a dark tunnel Cruel and fearful days I’m enduring through alone The classroom hallways get farther away, I’m on unfamiliar paths I’m so unlucky On this path I’m on I don’t even have a map But I never want to turn around It’s a maze Shedding blood sweat instead of blood tears, I comfort myself People tell me this kind of suffering Is just a passing storm That if I want to succeed, even though I’m afraid I need to set up a trap called failure As I bit on the bait that is pain I’m wandering As I put away my tired wings of passion My life was rock bottom, an edge of a cliff I’m walking in a dark tunnel Cruel and fearful days I’m enduring through alone I hold out my hand But no one is there to grab it I’m riding on my pain and my tears As I try to escape above I’m on a hellevator There’s nothing No one to care or worry about me Only cold words Telling me to give up on my dreams Those quitting words keep hitting my ear Only despai

Only despair grows The hopeful sky only gets covered by other people’s hands I’m praying to live as I try to endure With the piercing eyes on me I’m going insane Even if I succeed I’ll be someone’s clown So people tell me to give up on becoming a singer I’m getting weak But I keep pushing myself I’m trying to look for an exit Take myself out from being trapped in the darkness I’m fighting harder, run away from this place I’m on the hellevator, I’m gonna go up I’m escaping from my dark past Shining on my path ahead Tiresome times that drove me crazy I’m running so I can forget As the bell of a new start rings I got on, hold my hand And take me to the penthouse, my hellevator.

Why is 'Good habits' portrayed by an alarm clock ? Maybe being tied in to a society that expects stupid hours to be worked to equal success hmmm .... ? Stupid idea, stupid premise and ultimately, stupid outcome in terms of health, happiness and contentment. Besides which, the bloody thing is set to 9 'o' clock !! Even I at my great age and vast working life in an industry that demanded bonkers hours find this silly. If, during my working life I'd have been at work after 9am, I would have had to go through until 2am in the morning just to catch up on what I should have been doing the day before ..... Not always. One of my clients wanted to develop their own instrument for some measurements in a test bench. They had more difficulties than they initially thought, but didn't give up. They so much didn't give up that it eventually took them 4 years and 1.5 million euros to develop it, when the alternative that was proposed from the start was an off the shelf 60 000 euros instrument (tested and guaranteed, with IVI support). Now, I'm tasked to integrate it in their test bench, and it doesn't work very well. Sometimes, it's better to give up, so you can rethink your objectives.

" RETREAT ! " doesn't equate with failure. Most people are better off when they regroup and reassess what it is they are attempting to succeed at. In the military, " RETREAT " IS A TACTIC ( if done intelligently ...not a " defeat " .

Beware the sunk cost fallacy: "Well, I've put so much time and money into this already, even though it's not working yet I can't give up now or that will all have been wasted". Sometimes it's not working because it's just the wrong way and it will never work.

Sometimes, you don't have a choice about how you see the world... I choose to see it as a bright big world full of possibilities but it's just not and no amount of my wishing it will be will change that. All it would do is make me crazy for insisting things are good when the're not... and not going to get better. The new year and Biden in office isn't going to suddenly make the world a better place. Just read comments on FB or from friends/family, on and on about how Biden should be removed, Trump should be dictator, blah blah blah. It won't change at all, much less if I choose to "see" it that way.

A friend in college would tell me how her parents would berate and belittle her telling her she'd be nothing without them. Then she'd excuse herself from study groups to go mow her parents lawn, take out the trash, do their laundry. Shortly after I pointed out that they seem to depend on her more than she does on them, she left them and married a man that adored her and treated her like a queen. I can tell you those parents of hers were in a sorry state when they were forced to do things on their own.

@David Retsler- sex and gender are different. Sex refers to chromosomes, gender is a social construct. Sex can also change, Sex change may occur naturally, as in the case of the sequential hermaphroditism observed in some species. Hormone injections cause a different set of genes on the DNA to be turned on so that you get, for example, a male pattern of gene expression can be XX. Intersex people can have both male and female sexual characteristics and organs; at birth an unambiguous assignment of male or female cannot be made. Gender is a social construct, therefore gender is not limited to male and female.

Treating someone equally doesn't mean treating them the same. For example, we have disabled toilet cubicles which are bigger than others because someone in a wheelchair needs more space, therefore everyone has equal access to the toilet but the size of the cubicles are not the same.

A teacher taught "equality" by asking one kid where he had a boo-boo. He said his finger, so the teacher put a bandaid on it. The teacher asked the next kid. She said her elbow, so the teacher put a bandaid on her finger. The next kid said their knee, she put it on their finger and so forth. The kids GOT IT.

I agree with this, but not exactly as depicted. Another post here on BP has a litany of photoshop fails, the "Kardashian effect" and people that just hate being themselves. People need to learn to be happy with who they are, bot what society wants them to be!

Bored Panda was so much better before David Restler. Go through all the comments sections looking for his take. It's a masters class in "How to be unsupportive and cranky". I actually have a voice just for you David Restler. It's the one where you jut out your chin and lower lip and make that low, whining, mocking tone". It helps to remind me that you know where to comment, because you see what's wrong, but it benefits you. Like here, you obviously see yourself as being shunned by the opposite sex, but with the comments you make it would be a mistake for anyone to open their door. So you aren't being oppressed. You are being sorted. And you sort as a bad egg.

According to Etienne de La Boetie's "Discourse on Voluntary Servitude" explains that rulers don't have magical powers over people, they only rule because the majority of people just let them do it. If people just decided to disown them (regardless of their legal legitimacy or their personal virtues), they would become powerless in a second. A king is nothing without his barons, a general is nothing without his soldiers, a president is nothing without his civil servants. But please, don't do it. We need them. Just choose the right one wisely.

This is true. There's time when I tell myself "I can't do it" or "I wish I could do it like them" but when I actually try to do it, things change, and my mindset changes as well and I change those phrases to "I can do it" or "I know I can do it like them." Don't give up. Keep going and show yourself that you can do it. Don't do it for others, do it for youself.

Guy #1 is depressed and filled with anxiety... he can no more pick up that ball than he could fly. Guy #2 had a bad fight with his wife and is too consumed with figuring out how to make her happy again. There is an old Cherokee legend that sums this up perfectly: An old Cherokee is teaching his grandson about life. “A fight is going on inside me,” he said to the boy. “It is a terrible fight and it is between two wolves. One is evil – he is anger, envy, sorrow, regret, greed, arrogance, self-pity, guilt, resentment, inferiority, lies, false pride, superiority, and ego.” He continued, “The other is good – he is joy, peace, love, hope, serenity, humility, kindness, benevolence, empathy, generosity, truth, compassion, and faith. The same fight is going on inside you – and inside every other person, too.” The grandson thought about it for a minute and then asked his grandfather, “Which wolf will win?” The old Cherokee simply replied, “The one you feed.”

Society says that the person with a big job in a big city who has to commute from a big house in his big car through heavy traffic cause it's a city, is a successful person. This comic is challenging that of showing the unsuccessful person's joy at being alive, taking it slow and being in nature.

This one bothers me for some reason. I don't get it at all, it almost ticks me off. How is the top one successful? How is the bottom one unsuccessful? I'd switch the captions - the top one doesn't strike me as successful or pleasant in any way whatsoevever. If that's a daily thing - your life isn't successful.

For once I agree with this one : don't try to become the "successful" according to the definition that society gives you. Just try to do and to become what will make you happy and fulfilled according to your own standards. Remember all those college students who think they "have to" party, drink, fake a social life, and pretend they are happy.

This is so relevant... when mangroves in Florida were cut down along waterfronts to make way for golf courses, residential areas and hotels, hurricane damages inland from the coast were far worse than previously.

As long as you're doing a job you don't like, this is the truth and fact of life. Very few of us get to do a job we love... we do the job we have to survive. Being paid for doing what you love to do is just a dream that 99% of us never achieve.

Many people live paycheck to paycheck. They don't have the resources to break their cycle, not even with a "positive mindset". I feel this is out of touch.

SERIOUS NOTE: All of you American kids still in school- do NOT let the school system crush your spirit and creativity!! The American "education" system is designed to train you to comply and NOT to think for yourselves! They punish you for "wrong" answers and grade you on your ability to think like them. We don't need more brain dead idiots that were never taught to think! We need people with different opinions, thoughts, ideas, and approaches! Only in math can you have a "wrong" answer. Opinions are "wrong" if they are not based on facts. A red rose is always red. Whether it's beautiful or not is an opinion. Learn and LIVE the difference. Do NOT let your education make you a moron! Become smarter despite what the "education" system tells you. Challenge the norm. Question the answers. Look at the how's and why's and not just at the answer you're required to give. Don't just memorize- THINK and EXPERIENCE LIFE yourself!

Awwwww, poor woo woo. The human body requires a level of stress to maintain its health. The problem is too many people are stressed over stupid crap like getting upvotes or wondering if Kim Kardashian's ass will get any bigger. Yes, too much stress is "bad." But you can control the stress in your life through healthy living including meditation and exercise. Too many people don't want to put in the work and so they just lay down like a good little victim and let life s**t on them. EVERYBODY has s**t in their life. The difference is some people would rather wallow in it for attention whereas others want to put in the work and effort to climb out of it. You can drown in the s**t or you can teach yourself to float in it until you make your way to land. It's your choice and nobody can do it for you. So, stop whining and get busy.

You're right, it's not at all, we like to please others, we evolved in groups after all, so it's important to us what our peers think of us. BUT saying no is important for your own mental health. Practice with small things and work your way up until you feel comfortable saying YES or NO, depending on how you feel. Take your time, don't rush with this. It will all come out in the wash.

So... the chickens will become chicken hawks! Because they are surrounded by chickens and hawks!

The circumstances are stronger than you. Whatever hard work and efforts you produce, if you are not lucky, you will fail anyway.

I feel like all of the tech related ones are just boomers getting mad at people for having what they didn't. I got a real boomer vibe from this one.

the guy who has no hands works while the one who sits, just waits for it to fall into his alms. I interpret it like that, it could be something else 🤷‍♀️

The guy without arms had someone else arrange the rocks on his head. Homeless people are usually homeless because they have nobody to help them.

It means - " LIFE-( your life )- is what YOU makes it out to be ". If the guy with no hands tells himself he can't get any job and thus cannot take care of himself , that THAT thought will become his reality. Even tho' for all intents and purposes , he's more qualified to get help / charities. And for the OTHER guy who obviously has zero ( bodily at least ) disabilities , he believes he NEEDED to be given help while obviously there seems to be no excuses ( unless there ARE reason/s ) to be in that situation in the first place AND to not able to help himself. That's just pure laziness. Which is actually the most insidious and something that I myself am still battling to this day. Hope my explanation helps.
