Mom Asks The Internet To Help Her Open This Cupboard, Here Are The Responses
Drop whatever you're doing, we have a situation in here! A stay-at-home mother has posted a picture of the 'impossible to open' cupboard and she needs your tips to open it without destroying these precious porcelain plates.
'A cupboard that can never be opened,' - read the caption. Of course, you can never throw words like 'never' online because soon after posting, the army of kind-hearted internauts came pouring in (16,000 reactions and 456 comments) to help this lady with getting her plates to safety.
What would you do in this situation? Post your answers below!
Update: The photo was actually taken after an earthquake in the Tottori Prefecture on October 21st, in a hotel owned by the Kishida family.

It is a matter of economic, if the plates are cheap open the door. If the plates are irreplaceable smash the glass on the right.
Build an identical house next to your existing house with only one difference, the plates would be on the shelf. Then delete the old house.
Open a bottle of wine > Have a drink > Wait for a husband to come home. Start a random argument out of nothing > Go to the kitchen . open the door and let it smash > blame it on the husband - he'll apologize and buy a whole new set of plates.
Flood the house, then open the cupboard without any risk!
try switching it off then switching it back on again
Just let yourself die and respawn back to your last check point when the plates were nicely stacked
One open the door very fast and the other catches the dish with a blanket spanned between two arms. Gravity wont let them fall too fast and if you know where they will fall you can catch them easily.
Go to Kamar-Taj, see The Ancient One, be a sorcerer, find The Eye of Agamotto, reverse or stop time, arrange back, and you're done!
Sell it to the museum and name it the "Frozen in Time" series.
Maybe u can slide a piece of thin (but strong) layer of cardboard between the door and plates. That layer would help to keep the plates from falling (and breaking) when another person reaches in (from the sides) and collects them. Dunno. Just an idea, most probably not the best & working one tho. Good luck!
Name it schrodinger's cupboard because at this time the bowls are both intact and broken
Insert a deflated balloon to the bottom, gradually inflate as door open to hold the stack
Take a picture of it and ask to people on internet
Tape the cupboard with scallop tape, then leave it for your grandchildren to deal with; or save it as a future dowry for your daughter.
gather your friends..make it a party! open the door and as the bowls crash to the floor.. yell OPA! and then you all have a drink together to toast the occasion.
Alternatively: divorce, retain custody of the cupboard, marry someone Greek.
The Bored Panda solution: watch pictures of cute animals until you are in a good mood. Open the door and see the mess, be devastated. Read stories about nice humans helping animals. Be glad again. (Go shopping for new dishes.)
Take the cabinet skydiving with you and while in free fall open the cabinet and place the dishes somewhere safe before deploying parachutes
The theoreticist solution: define the plates to be unbreakable. Open the door savely.
The Jigsaw puzzle champion solution: buy much glue suitable for ceramics. Open the door quickly. Have fun for hours!
Put the cupboard down horizontally, the plate should fall back. The other way is to open it ever so slightly, then use a metal coat hanger to secure the plate at the bottom, at the same time keep sliding the door until the gap is large enough for your hand to fit in, then you can push up the plates with your hands.
Instead of a coat hanger, use a fish tank net - bend the handle, so that you can first slide the net part in through a tiny gap, then turn it and position to catch (or at least soften the fall of) any falling plates.. Obviously, the net should be as large as possible.
Photoshop the image as to how it was before this happened and print out the image and stick it in the glass
Give a name to every single plate and tell all Pokemon Player that they "Gotta catch 'em all!"
Nail blanket corners to the wall open the door and let the plates fall on to the blanket. Wear a fire fighter uniform
Spend a few months in the secret mountain tops of Japan and train. You must become a ninja with lightning reflexes. With your newly found ninja skills catching those plates when you open the cupboard will be easy.
once an engineer told me a roll of duct tape would fix any problem
Call spiderman... or wait long enough for spiders to build enough web inside so the plates would hold
The Tolkien solution: get a bunch of dwarves, feed them well, and then tell them it is time to clean up. Open the door. Even though it looks improbably, no dishes will be broken. And they will be super clean afterwards, too!
The political solution: declare it to be a problem of the next generation. Tell you children that this is how life is. (Rant at them still if they open the door and remind them of their "generational responsibility".)
Dig an incredibly long shaft under the house. Then release the house, while in free fall, straighten up the mess. As you pass through the center of the earth, watch for an alien government compound. Use solid booster rocket fuel and rockets from the space shuttle to aid in your ascent and to help spin the house around, now you're on your way to china. ascend from the earth, eject solid booster rockets and land home firmly. learned local dialect and enjoy various soups in your safe bowl set.
Get a big plastic bowl, stuff it with towels.. Have someone hold the bowl very close to the door, open gently and let it all the plates drop in there.. Even if any breaks, it will save you the stress of cleaning up.
take a glass cutter. сut out a holes from glasses part of the door. one from bottom, one from top. one person holds the bottom plates. and another person collects them from above.
Sell the house
I think the internet now is more interested in seeing the door actually being open. Be sure to video it and post it on line again, thanks!
Do not try to open the door. That's impossible. Instead... only try to realize the truth: There are no dishes.
Pull cupboard away from the wall, tip it slowly to the back until it's lying on the backside, the cupboard door shot be facing the ceiling now. Open it and pile your dishes better that time...
Spin the house round n round n round until the centrifugal force pushes the plates back onto the shelf. Be careful to stop the spin slowly.
First, create an anti-gravity machine, or yet, try some hollywood slo mo so that you can catch them - or yet, I've got a better idea:hire a juggler!
Write a sign saying Mannequin challenge accepted!
Seal the cupboard tight with gaffa tape. Pour enough liquid jelly (lime flavour) Through a small hole in top of cupboard. Turn the air con on until it sets. Once jelly has set, slowly open door. Hopefully it slows the bowls down enough for you to rescue them all. Invite 25 people over to your house for a bowl of green jelly. Lol!
Trump solution: build a wall around the shelf and declare that the dishes have fallen because of illegal aliens. Clinton solution: send an official email through your own server, have it leaked, have this discovered by FBI, blame FBI for not solving the problem with the dishes.
Break a pane of glass of the cabinet door and take the bowls out that way - instead of trying to open the door.
Ok, listen carefully: you'll need a rocket, a big rope, oxygen tank, parachute how you do it: tie the rope around a hook on your cupboard and shoot it to outer space....while in vaccum, do your chore and pull back to earth (we have stringed it right). shoot your parachute...don't die!! P.S do wear your oxygen masks(unless you are immortal) Same can be achieved underwater as well, but lets go universal!!!
Sell it as a mordern art display and get enough money to by new stuff + you have a great story to tell everyone else!! 😉👍🏻
Get a big tub and fill it with water. Make sure it's deep and that it's not too full. Open the cabinet, try to catch as many as you can and let the rest fall in the tub of water. This is definitely and 3 person job minimum.
Use a rolling pin to flatten your arm. Once flat simply slide it up and push the plates back into their place.
Unscrew the hinges of the door and slowly tip it from the top down to allow the dishes to only move slightly then have someone on a ladder reach in from the top to grab the dishes
Hans' solution: ignore the actual task, write so many comments on Bored Panda that at the end of the day you either have 1000 upvotes or 1000 downvotes...or both.
Disguise yourself as Jigsaw from the Saw movies, kidnap some people, ask them to figure out how to solve the puzzle or you will kill them.
Perhaps you could take a piece of sheet metal about half the width of the door or about even with the vertical molding on the door. Carefully open the door just enough to slide the sheet metal up and against the dishes. This will likely require two people. Once the metal is in place open the door and while one holds the metal tightly against the shelves the other person can pull the dishes back up on the shelf.
Less dishes to wash, so definitely open it.
Simply acknowledge that there is no way to know the direction of time, other than referring to the idea that entropy increases in the direction of time as we think of it. Then ignore the reference and assume time is running backwards. Yay, the plates are fixing themselves!
Pour some chemicals on youself in a stormy night. Get struck by lightning. When you get speed force you know what to do.
open the water tap and let the water fill the room AND the cupboard. Then open carefully the cupboard: the porcelains will fall anyway but slowly enough to catch them! :)
Call your mom 🐺
My husband mentioned trying to use a yardstick or something of that nature, partially opening the door and pushing them back. He also suggested getting your significant other drunk then having them open it, that way you can bring it up later and they will buy you a new set out of guilt.
Buy an octopus and sign it up to circus. It will learn tricks there and will be able to catch all the plates.
Riht click on the window, restore to an earlier time. If is not Ok, install windows 10, should
You'll need paper plates, bubble wrap, gaffa tape, the Internet and a towel. Tape up the cupboard and wrap in bubble wrap. Sell cupboard and contents on the Internet. Use paper plates instead. (Why the towel? Always carry a towel as it is the most useful thing an interstella hitchhiker can have.)
Try unplugging it.
Wait for the next eartquake to shake them back in position, or fill the cupboard with water, put it in the fridge and when it's frozen open the cupboard, put the ice block in your bed and let it melt, your china is saved and your will have wet dreams that night....
Create zero gravity. Open without worrying .
Put some thick blankets on the floor before opening the door; or ask someone to hold a blanket with them tightly to catch the falling plates.
You're gonna need a blowtorch, peanut butter and a plastic spoon...
Break the glass on the top panel and re-stack the plates before opening the door. That was easy.
Get a big garbage bag and slide it up in there. Then just blow it up until it pushes everything back onto the shelf.
Variation of a solution mentioned. Don't smash the glass pane next to the plates, get a glass cutter and cut the pane out while someone is pressing the other door tightly, so the bowls won't slip. Then reach in and remove the bowls.
Host a Greek Wedding, let the plates smash, then add their replacement cost to the wedding invoice.
The misanthropist solution: call someone else without showing him what is wrong, glue his or her hand to the door, then leave. Rant at him or her if you hear cracking sounds.
pretty simple really, if you unhinge the door to the cabinet, you can open the cabinet from the top (like a draw bridge) and the cabinet door itself will catch/ support the dishes while you grab them from the top
Get the magic wand and say : Wingardium Leviosa!!! If you haven't mastered it, try Hogwarts!
Hermione's Timeturner would also work, you could go back and take dishes out of cupboard before they would have fallen, then give them as a gift to Sirius Black to take on his trip on Buckbeak. They would be great to use in human or dog form.
Break the glass on the right side of the cupboard, and squeeze in a lot of pillows, or an entire cotton mattress. Then open the door, and the mattress will fall out and catch the plates.. hopefully.. :)
I'm afraid the Internet cannot help you open the cupboard. You have to do it yourself.
She's asking for solutions. Not trying to make the internet DO it for her. She will do it herself, once she gets the answer she thinks is most useful. Sheesh.
The Logopolis Solution: what you have is a problem of entropy. Your nice, ordered plates, suspended in the cupboard are tending dangeroysly to disorder. To solve this, simply create a Charged Vacuum Embointment into E-Space inside the cupboard so that the entropy can safely drain away. Just don't let some maniac get his hands on an Earth radio telescope circa 1970s or 80s, or else he could close the CVE which would shatter your plates instantly
If my observation is correct, the door has a sliding mechanism, instead of being suspended by hinges. So you can slide it very carefully, until you're able to put your arm in and grab the plates. But hey where's the fun in that ? I suggest you steal the newly confiscated timeturner from hermiones office, turn back time and put the plates more carefully in the cupboard. Just to realize that by rearranging the plates, you changed everything and helped Voldemort win the battle at Hogwarts! fck...
Get a huge shopping bag, fill the bottom with bubble wrap. Lift the bag as close as possible to the draw opening. Get another person to hold the bag, open the draw and quickly grab as many of the plates as possible. Let the rest drop into the bag without harm.
Bring the cupboard approaching the speed of light. Time dilation will allow you to catch the falling bowls easily.
Hire a group of programmers. Make them recreate the entire situation in a virtual reality scenario. Train your reflexes to learn how the plates will fall every time, and when you're consistently able to save them all from breaking, try it in real life.
If the plate is leaning against the glass, the claw track won’t allow the claw to get close enough to nab it. Use the claw to drag the one close to the drop zone. instead. Practice more!
Open the left side and drill a hole in the dividing wood, big enough for your hand to fit through. Adjust plates. Patch and paint hole.
Gently remove the window glass above the plates and stick your hand in it. Eventually remove the glass on the underside to catch any falling plates. Good luck from the Netherlands 🇳🇱 😄
1- Pray until Jesus apears 2- open the cupboard 3- ask Jesus for help you cleaning the mess
Enlist two strong people to help.Have the two people slowly tip the china cupboard backwards about 45 degrees until the bowls settle slowly, then simply open the door a hand's width, slide you hand in and turn the first bowl sideways and remove. Repeat.
Ask people on Boredpanda, let them answer and wait until you guess you have 1 or 2 best answers are possible to do.
A couple of things indicate that it is a sliding door that slides to the right. I feel one can safely slide the door by 4-5 inches to the right and insert ones left hand. You can take help from a left handed / ambidextrous friend to be safe.
See the hardware on the bottom left, it is only found on sliding doors. It is at a place where there would typically be a hinge in a casement door. Also it seems to be a very large door pane, approx 4'X8', that size door is very uncommon in a crockery cabinet and would also require the mullions and transoms to be stronger (thicker)
Post a picture of your predicament on the Internet to seek advice!
And entertainment value to reduce the stress while figuring it out!
Remove the board from the back of the cabinet or the one on the top if it is a top shelf. You will have a better aproach and you won't destroy anything this way.
Get a large stack of old newspapers, and a helper. Slip the paper in through a crack in the cupboard door. Continue until the empty space is filled with paper. Slowly and carefully open cupboard while friend is poised to catch, dishes. Maybe have 3rd person to take the dishes from the first so they can continue trying to stablize plates.
Look at the cupboard and rack your brain for a possible solution. When you don't find one; which you won't, just take one last look and start crying. Continue crying till your husband and kids come home and make them get you a new set or refuse to fulfill any motherly-Wifey duties.
Invite over family and friends, cook a turkey or ham - big dinner. Ask nephew or niece to set the table. When dishes break parents of nephew or niece will buy replacements. Works best if there is already a rift between in-laws
Sit down. Relax. Find you inner center. Realize that we all - the whole cosmos - is linked. We're all one. We're all a tiny piece of something so big, we'd never understand. Take a deep breath. Open the cupboard. You shouldn't worry about the broken dishes and your bleeding face now.
Waiting for the best possible advice how to open the cupboard make sure you secure the door so it won't open with the pressure of the plates :-) or to much movement around the cupboard:-)and good luck! Don't smash the door glass, gently and carefully cut the glass (tools needed)big enough to take the plates out !They are beautuful :-) and don't replace the broken glass, leave it as something to remember by...
Just break the plates, life is to short!!
Glass cutter to cut off the glass at the bottom. Put a cushion for the bowls to fall on. From the same hole you can slowly take the rest of the bowls off the cupboard.
Paint the glass a dark color and ask some jerk neighbor to come for tea, cups are in the cupboard help your self 😉
Buy a new cupboard and a new set of plates that look exactly the same as the current one. Place the new cupboard right in front of the existing, arrange the plates to your delight. Problem solved! Out of sight, out of mind!
Open and close the door quickly over and over again until they shift into a more stable position.
Switch off thw lights..invite ur friends for a party.. ask one of em to open thw cupboard n grab some plates.. once they open n smash the plates..Ask em to pay for it..
Get a pillow or something that is soft and have another person who is fast and precise to help you catch the bowls as you open it. They will start low and quickly go up as you open that thing. You will save some, you might smash some, but better then having it all hit the floor. Next time don't overload it.
Take a tremendous poop on the floor where the plates will fall and then leave the room without wiping your bum.
Get two people to hold a blanket underneath and slowly open the door but keep the blanket close as u can to the cupboard
things you need: 1.duck tape 2.scissors four easy steps: 1. wrap the duck tape around the cupboard. 2. think about a fancy title like "untouchable" or "time would tell" 3. sell it to an art exhibit. profit. 4. buy new dishes and cupboard. (if this happens again, repeat)
Call a coupla hard, pipe-hittin' *gentelmen*, who'll go to work on the plates with a pair of pliers and a blow torch. You hear me talkin', dishes? I'ma get medieval on your ass.
Have Barry Allen aka the Flash go back in time to save his mom from being killed, creating a new time-line, a Flashpoint paradox in which the dishes are perfectly stacked and a monkey is in the White House
Don't worry Ma'am, I have escalated the issue to our technical support team. If I were in your position, I would be frustrated too. Have you tried resetting your phone? Turn it off then turn it back on after a few minutes. That should work.
Place orange portal next to the cabinet then place the blue portal inside the cabinet, reach in and stack them neatly back inside then open the door. Problem Solved.
How does one put the blue portal through the glass? I'm convinced the cube is needed.
Swish & flick your wand while saying wingardium leviosa. P.S. It's pronounced "LeviOsa" NOT "LevioSA"
Smash the bottom glass, Squeeze yourself into the cupboard. Make a selfie in the cupboard and rearrange the plates.
Build a pillow fort in front of it and open the cabinet door and let it fall out with out breaking some of them.
go to the Winchester, have a nice cold pint, and wait for all of this to blow over. How's that for a slice of fried gold?
A pane of glass cost much less then the china. break a pane above the dishes, reach in and arrange them then you can open the door!
Just open the door, let them break and then use the reparo charm on them. Merlin's beard, muggles are so dumb.
Use Flipendo💥 or Alohomora-> Immobulus-> gather your dishes and put them in place Or Alohomora-> booom -> repairo-> wingardium laviosa-> back in place. Still fail? Use Avada Kedavra or yourself.
Have sex in next room. Bang against wall so hard cabinet falls down and breaks bowls. Blame husband. Go shopping ;)
Maybe you should sell ur house at the very expensive price and add a few words about ur antique bowls.or just open a life insurance for ur bowl..
Put on a horror movie on Netflix and face it towards the cupboard. The crockery will move back in horror. Job done !!
These plates are fragile millenials. That cupboard is an Ivy league campus. Never open into reality - they need their SAFE SPACE
rewind!!!!!
Take the NON violence stand. Sit down on a comfy chair and meditate , meditate as long as your wishes come true . The plate will come to they own place by it self. Time does not exist in the Transcendent , so go and dive deep inside the transcendental state of consciousness. Bye the way many other problems will be solved till the plates come back to its own place! Enjoy
Solution needs two persons: the first puts his(her) hand on the glass front of the plates. The second cuts the glass around that hand with a glass cutter. (s)he then opens the door slowly and grabs the plates as the other stays still.
Put a loose (baggy) and elastic fabric as a safenet underneath te door, full of small balls of styrofoam and open it maybe you'll safe some plates
Book a trip on a commercial space flight and simply slip the cupboard through as hand luggage. Once out of the atmosphere and the pull of earth's gravity is sufficiently reduced, open the door and rearrange the plates. Maybe think about putting them on the lower shelf next time so if it happens again they won't have as far to fall.
Simply cut the window on the right with a glass cutter and use the most trusted hand of yours and put the plates back. Invite all Bored Panda users to dinner.
Let me come over and ask the dishes out on a date, they will all back away from me into their rightful places telling me they have a boyfriend.
Run back to the past using your speed force, where the dishes were still stacked and stop whoever created that chaos. But in doing so you'll be altering the timeline, but a few bowls are worth the risk. So run, Mother, RUN!
Unscrew the cupboard door and slide it up til your hand fits under
Probably can't unscrew it because the screws are normally on the inside of the hinges. But depending on the type of hinge you might be able to remove the hinge pins and do like you're suggesting.
Go to ninja training to master speed and accuracy until able to open and catch falling plates.
Do not try and save the bowls. That's impossible. Instead, only realize the truth... THERE ARE NO BOWLS. Then you will see that it is not the bowls that gets saved, it is yourself.
Pry off top of cabninet and grab all bowls, or get circular drill bill large enough for arm to move bowls back then glue the cut out hole back in place and paint over the cut lines
Offer to babysit a friend's hyperactive children. "Accidentally" feed them too much sugar and let them loose near cupboard.
Get a long strip of duct tape, open the door just enough to slide it in front of danger zone dishes with the sticky side toward the cupboard body. When in place, secure tape to cupboard. Repeat as necessary. Open door, rearrange dishes as needed, remove tape.
Open the left cupboard and empty it.then open a hole through the wood or remove it.reach the plates through there.open.replace wood.jobs done
If u can slide the door open a smidge pass a long balloon and blow it up, repeat til full, then open.
lay the cupboars horicontal down of its back on the ground or take a mattress under de door
Go to CERN and get a PhD in particle physics. Discover the graviton and anti-gravity. Create an anti gravity gun. Have earth invaded by aliens. Save the day using said gun. Remember this all started due to the damn plates. Come home and find the house a wreck but cupboard still intact. Use the gravity gun to get the plates out. Lose your shit when the battery runs out mid way smashing them to pieces. At least you saves earth.
Do not try and open the cupboard. That's impossible. Instead... only try to realize the truth. There are no dishes. Then you'll see, that it is not the cupboard that opens, it is only yourself.
You know how your socks go missing? Those are sock goblins. Summon one and pay them in socks to magically teleport the dishes out of the cupboard. Make sure the socks are nice.
Create a spider-web of duct tape across the glass, from frame to frame; ensure it is pretty heavily built up near to the first-instant fall point. Open glass and adjust bowls within spidey holes.
Just wait awhile quantum theory states that any arrangement of particles is possible and will occur given sufficient time, hopefully this rearrangement will occur before the imminent heat death of the universe
CARDBOARD. Open the door slightly and slide a piece of cardboard between the door and the plates. Now, holding the cardboard, you can open the door freely. Once the door is open, you can use your free hand to reach around the cardboard and arrange the plates.
What do you value more...the dishes or that top pane of glass that you could break and reach in to pull the dishes back?
If you have a gap at the top of the cabinet door between it and the ceiling, take a long piece of paper, slide it through the door while slightly open. Hold paper above and below the door. Tension the paper to hold the bowls while you carefully open the door and quickly grab the bowls. Might buy you enough time. Suggest something strong, like parchment paper.
cut one of glass panels above the dishes and get dishes out . Then simply replace the glass panel, cheaper then letting dishes get broken and saves the dishes which may not be replaceable!
Send this picture to the cupboard producer and ask them to send you a set of nice porcelain before you sue them!
Drill a circular hole in the top of the cupboard to fit your hand/arm. Grab them one at a time from the top and stack them back on the shelf. Take arm out of the hole. Buy a 6"x2" piece of wood and nails. Nail the circle cutout to the wood. Place cutout in the hole, and nail back to the cupboard. Now there is no hole, and you saved the plates.
Seriously? I would open the cupboard about 1/8 to 1/4 inch, and slide in a thin but sturdy piece of plexiglass parallel to the cupboard door. (As big as the door). Press it firmly against the shelf, keep holding it tightly against the shelf, and open the door. Now you have a door that you can slowly and incrementally slide down, rather than opening all at once. Slowly slide it down, pulling out the dishes as you go. If I am picturing this correctly, you should be able to save every dish
They won't fall if you open the glass slowly and just enough to insert your arm which is doable because there is still space from both sides of the glass. slide the door to the right while the pressure of the objects on the glass will stop from making them fall, then you would substitute that pressure with your palm. Third law of motion: When one object exerts a force on another, the second object exerts on the first a force equal in magnitude but opposite in direction.
"Edited" They won't fall. if you open the glass slowly and just enough to insert your arm which is doable because there is still space from both sides of the glass. slide the door to the right while the opposite pressure of the objects on the glass will stop it from making them fall, then you would substitute that pressure with your palm. Third law of motion: When one object exerts a force on another, the second object exerts on the first a force equal in magnitude but opposite in direction.
The answer to this is simple. 1. ) Submit this to the mannequin challenge 2.) ??? 3.) Profit
Open the cupboard to the left & use a jigsaw to cut a hole between the two. Reach in and carefully pull out the plates. The cupboard can easily be replaced, but those dishes might not be able to be! :)
1. Open door. 2. Invite all Kings horses. Important addendum: do not invite (or immediately uninvite) all Kings men. They have a terrible track record with matters of this sort.
Take comfort in the fact that in the parallel universe your dinner service is not screwed!
Put one of those egg crate mattress toppers on the floor before you try any of the above ideas 😉
Call the fire department and tell them someone is about to jump when they arrive show them the situation, I'm sure they'll understand
Easy! Use the good old Day of the Tentacle Trick: 1) Place Laverne in front of cupboard, ready to catch plates. 2) Switch player from Laverne to Hoagie 3) Save 4) Encourage George Washington to cut some - not all - of the tree down. Just enough wood to make the shelves, but not the door. 5) When you switch back to Laverne, she should be holding the plates safely. If not, load and try a different approach on (4).
Create a kickstarter or indigogo account to fund the broken plates, you might be lucky it might be overly funded.. Tip: make your video super interesting so many will fund it. Good luck.. I believe in you.. 1 week left..
Unhinge cabinet door, push door up against plates and carefully slide door up until edge of door reaches bottom of messy shelf. Tilt edge of door in until parallel to messy shelf (hence letting cabinet door act as extension of shelf.) Voila. Let the dishes slide onto door, hopefully unscathed
By the looks of it its a sliding door, that'd make things harder. Anyways, either tip the whole thing on it's back or break a pane or try a slim tool, put pieces of (duc)tape in and secure the plates to the shelves. Open door and peel tape from plates one by one
Open the door very slightly and stick a spatula in, hold the plates with said spatula and open door enough to get other hand in to grip remaining section of plates.
This would only work with a sliding door. Get a small curtain dowel with curtain attachment. Slightly slide door open just enough to slide dowel into cupboard. Bottom of the curtain then is tacked to the back of the cupboard with a second dowel. Bowls slide the curtain to a safe location at the back of the cupboard.
Meditate for few years in Himalayan moutains. Find your inner peace kind of kung fu panda... practice on catching flying arrows and bullets... when you're fast enough and have meditated enough, you will realize that life is bigger and more important.. you will open the door, slowly, not quickly, plates will fall and break, and you will give them to the poor
Carefully disconnect the house from its foundation. Make sure not to lose any washers. While holding everything inside in place, gently but firmly tip the building over to one side, so that the wall with the problematic cupboard is now on the floor. Open the cupboard, and restack the dishes. Tip the house back on its bottom (again remembering to hold everything inside in place) and reattach building to foundation. You should have no extra washers when you are done.
with the looks of things it's a sliding door that slides open to the right sliding the door should hopefully slide the dishes across with the door open it (slowly!) enough to fit your arm in take the top few dishes and place them on the lower shelf if they fit repeat until you can take the ones on the glass, DO NOT take the ones on the glass first as it will cause a chain reaction and make the top ones fall, once all dishes are on the the lower shelf safely open the door and put the dishes back
It's actually very simple. Go to Canadian tire or hardware store of your choice.. Buy a glass cutter. Use the glass cutter to cut the edges of the pane of glass above the pane the bowls are against. Reach in and settle the bowls. Problem solved. Now replace the glass pane using gorilla glue or alternate. Your welcome
Use a piece of cardboard slideit and as you crack the door open, you may want to tape a small piece of wood on the cardboard to stiffen it up & slide in. you will be successful if you listen to me
YOU MUST HAVE 33 MAGIC 1. Go buy any type of air staff preferably Law Staff 2. Go buy about 50 Law and Air runes 3. Open the cupboard and try to tele-grab as many as you can some may break but this is the best answer
Open cupboard next to it. Drill a strategic hole. Insert rod through hole, push dishes back. Open door, arrange dishes correctly. Remove paint flake, bring to paint Store to match. Fill hole, sand, paint.
You are in the Matrix, slide open the door and with your mind imagine every plate being caught. If you catch them, then you are the one, Neo. If they smash then you a mearly another useless mortal!
Wait for the next earthquake, let them break, (or open the cabinet if they don't), claim it as damages, let insurance pay for it. Bada-boom.
Well since you seem to be in US with pretty large space below it which i can guess from the reflection you can keep a big deep tub filled with water until top or maybe your children outdoor swim and open the window prepare to slow move a few and few will fall in water saving the entire damage. Wear safety goggles, gloves, and shoes. Keep your arms covered and move the dishes to safety through shattered glass.

Stack a few mattresses on the floor in front of the cabinet door, throw a bunch of big fluffy bath towels on the mattresses to minimize bounce. Then, while standing on the mattresses open the door slowly to capture the falling dishes. Whichever dishes you miss will land on the mattresses and fluffy towels. Some dishes may be saved as long as they don't land on top of each other. It would be helpful if you had a second person removing the saved dishes from the mattresses as they land.

Perhaps one person can slide the door open very gently and slowly (that shouldn't disturb the current placement of the bowls), The other person gently slide her hands in and support the first bowl with a slight inwards push. That might prevent other bowls from falling? ~ a 8 year old suggestion which makes some sense to me.

Catch an owl. Bind the letter to it's paw and send the owl to the wizard or witch you've asked for help. Open the cupboard and watch everything break. Wait for help to come... nothing that a simple reparo spell can't fix right?

Is this a kitchen cupboard( not sure why it is inset further than the other. If it is a standup, tip it back and open. Otherwise, Use a glass cutter to remove the pane above the shelf and carefully lift the bowls back into place. Hopefully the cost of the replacement pane + labour is less than the cost of the bowls. Alternately, is there enough room to slip a hooked wire coat hanger where the opening is and use the hook to brace the bowls while someone else quickly opens the door to cradle them.

The cabinet door appears to be sliding door. If so, then if the other side door can be slided so much that you could reach over to the bowls, you could carefully clear the stack out. Alternately, you could try to carefully slide this door just enough to reach in and take out the plates, topmost first.

Is this a trick question? Sliding-door cupboards always have two sliding doors. Open the other one until you can reach the dishes. As far as I see, you should be able to open it at least halfway.
Okay. Seriously: cut a hole into the right glassplate and try to carefully balance the plates on the left, which should already be sufficient in order to push the stack into a more stable state. Then some other person might open the door, taking part of the stack. if you use a good glasscutter, you can then decorate the hole in the glass or just let it as it is. funny thing to remember :)

Slowly slip ur hand in and hold them in place as another person carefully takes one bowl out at a time
Oh dear some of the replies here are funny but there's also good replies. I would def do the easiest & safest thing. Someone suggested tilting the cupboard back & then get them out. Also, you can purchase a glass cutter pretty cheap these days, you can cut a round circle just big enough for your arm to fit through. This way you don't need to smash anything. Got a diamond ring? Ha if you don't wish to damage or cut the front, go from behind but be wary you don't knock the plates off the shelf.
As the budhists say all life is suffering just open the cupboard allow the bowls and plates to come tumbling crashing down and enjoy the moment of destruction for all things end

The plates will be simultaneously broken and intact until the opened cupboard is observed. Don't observe. #schrödingerscupboard
This cupboard appears to SLIDE open to the right...I would start by finding a very skinny long-limbed left-handed and coordinated (maybe who loves beading or stitching) 12-yr-old girl, slide the door 1 cm at a time, and as soon as her skinny wrist can fit in have her carefully find a stability pressure point to allow you to advance the door all the way. Or...CRASH and be done with it.
Remove (or cut) the pain of glass just below or to the right and remove the plates slowly. Then go after your prankster kid with a wooden spoon.
Trace and Score the glass to the right and then carefully remove and then you can grab the plates. Otherwise carefully put your hand from the bottom of the door or have someone do it and open the door carefully. As you open the door little by little maneuver your hand up the space until you've been able to grab the first plate and then the others. Otherwise have a large cushion at the bottom after opening the door and hope to not have little to non broken when they fall and hit the blanket
Send your cupboard in space, where there is low gravity and then you open tge door to arrange dishes
Contact the maker of the dishes. Let them know of your dilemma (sending them a link to this article so they can see all of the attention this is getting). I'll bet that they would be glad to replace them, should you break any of them during your rescue attempt because of the positive publicity they would receive for their good deed. Win-Win!
Can't do it without sacrifice. Spare 2 or 3 plates, and catch the rest while opening it slowly.
Take out your tape recorder and rewind time. *Twilight Zone intro starts playing in the backround*
Smash the top panel of glass, then remove the wood panel, then you may rearrange the china
If possible, unhinge. Without removing door, slide door up (with assistance) until the bottom of the door is aligned with the lowest plate. Tip the top of the door towards you and allow plates to slide on to inside surface of the door.
Rope yourself up and enter the cupboard from above. Do not forget to humm the Mission impossible theme song.
Whatever you plan to do, create a VM first a make a carbon copy of your house and kitchen and cupboard and plate situation in it. Create backup. Then start exploring options. If any option brakes the plates, simple delete VM and restart from the backup with another option until suitable solution is found. Then actually do exactly whatever worked in this testing environment. This is standard practice in IT... What do you mean I'm forgetting something?

take a glass cutter. cut out a circle of glass so you have a hole big enough to gently remove the bowls with your hand. reattach the glass circle plate to the hole and fix it with duct tape. take a flamethrower. burn the cupboard so the glass can merge together. voila.

never open the cupboard again and leave it there as a laugh and a lesson that tells us all not to stack too many plates in one pile in a cupboard
You need the Doctor. .. He can go back in time and save this from happening, unless of course he can't because it will cause some sort of paradox.

EASY!!! Place a large pillow under the door, slowly open and let the dishes fall whilst moving about the pillow about so they don't hit each other!!!
Its not intuitive, but the solution is to ADD more plates to the top of the shelf. Its just like a 'pop a point pencil' !!! Google it if you are confused. Cut access holes in the glass on the top and bottom. Keep shoving any plates you dont care about in the top, eventually the ones u want come out the bottom. If u want access to the shelf later on, open the door when the plates you care about are out.

Easy guys... just duct-tape a sheet under the cupboard, tie the other side around your waist, fill with pillows. Unscrew the hinges of the cabinet and angle it towards yourself slowly, then have someone else grab the bowls.
I think breaking the glass might be the best way, but rather than the glass to the right of it would break the one above it so you can reach down and grab them out because there's the tilted ones on the side of the ones that are sliding down the front
Pin a towel loosely under it, one part under the cabinet, one on the door. Then open it and let the plates land on the towel.

Buy a glass scratcher and a suction cup. Place suction cup in the center of the window above the plates. While holding onto the suction cup use the glass scratcher to cut out the glass around the frame. You might have to tap slightly to break it free. If done properly the panel will stay one whole piece. You then should be able to reach inside above the plates and move them as needed. You can also do the same on the bottom to put down a blanket to catch anything that might slip while re-stacking
Guys, this is a trick question - how can plates be in a CUPboard. These are just some really big, really flattened cups - no plates, no problem.
Break the top glass pane, stand on a chair and reach in to restack all the dishes. Or get a really big pillow and set it under the cabinet (where you think the dishes would land) open the door and pray. Haha

Hire the best, insured, movers in town. When they arrive, tell them the dishes are all you got in the divorce, and sadly the only posessions you'll be taking to your new home.
I would first ask myself, "Self, WWMSD?" (What Would Martha Stewart Do) Then I'd resign to the fact I'm SOL, throw a Greek wedding and open the cupboard as the last part of the celebration, and lastly, make a decorative table top mosaic with the shards.
Open the door and let it go. But while that's happening, make sure you take a video and then time lapse it in the most dramatic way, post the video on instagram with the hashtag #instabam , and tag instagram to get famous on internet.

From how the hold looks, this seems to be a sliding door. If so, open the other door until you can either begin removal of some of the fallen ones, or until it supports as many of them as possible. From there, open the door we are looking at and begin removing those. Work from there.
You'll need to buy spray insulation expanding foam...knock out a small piece of glass and spray it between the plates and cupboard bottom.Once it's dried open the cupboard. THE PLATES SHOULD STICK TOGETHER and be undamaged but you'll need varsol to clean plates and 6 bucks to replace the glass.

Pull out from the wall then cut a small hole in the back Big enough to fit your hands in and reach in and grab the plates. You need to brace the doors so they don't pop open and keep pressure on the plates that have already reached the door. Start grabbing the plates from the bottom of the stack and remove them while you hold the fallen plates against the door. Remove those last. It will be easier to repair the back of the cupboard and not as noticeable.

These bowls are holding each other up, you cannot remove any without at least one falling. I would put packing tape on the surface of whole pane that the bowls are leaning on. A quick tap with the handle of a butter knife should break the glass, the tape keeping it intact and in place. With gloved hands, push in the taped and broken pane where the bowls are, pushing the bowls together and up at the same time onto the shelf. Let the pane slide between hand and shelf, remove bowls carefully.

Make a flat, sturdy, soft big spatula of sorts (like a giant flyswatter covered in soft fabric). Take the hinges off the right side while holding the door in place. Slide the "spatula" through the opening where the hinges were, and twist it so it will be horizontal instead of vertical to catch the dishes, or at least give them a softer landing as you slowly open the door.
An A4 sized sheet of tin, with a thin layer of rubber mat stuck to it. One on the door, one with the sheet and another to collect the dishes.

1 Get two strongish helpers, and pull the cupboard away from the wall. 2)GENTLY tilt the top of the cupboard back towards the wall, let the dishes shift SLOWLY away from the door to the back of the cupboard. 3)Have the helpers hold the cupboard tilted against the wall to keep it from sliding, and pull all the dishes out into a counter. 4)Have the helpers pull the empty cabinet upright, and slide it flush back against the wall in place. 5)Reload the dishes into the cabinet.

If it opens with the handle to the left, simply take the hinges apart on the right, open it from the right (you'll need to hold the whole door in place as it'll just fall because it isn't hinged), use a pole or stick and push everything to the far left hard against the wall. Or, take all the hinges off and slowly open the door from the top and tilt backwards so plates slowly fall onto flat horizontal door.
One opens the door. Someone else catch the plates while wearring thick gloves.so he can manage to absorb the shock with the gloves.and put his fingers betwen the plates while grabbing them so they wont chip. Need some good reflex.
Open up satchel > pull out flute > play orchid of time > retrieve plates > smash plates > retrieve gems
Hop up in crawl space in attic, cut hole In drywall above cabinet. Reach down into hole and re stack. Patch, 5 min mud, paint. All done
If this predicament was the fate of the plates, is it really "destroying" them to let them fall? Let them fall, it's not destruction, it's their next fated state.
Snuck 100 balloon ends into the gap and start blowing. Then take your last deep breath and OPEN the goddamn door!!
Judging by the handles the doors slide, so I'd slide it open until your arm can fit in and steady the bowls with your hand, maybe even move them one by one, then open it the rest of the way.
Tape the cupboard door shut, lie the cupboardd door on its back gently and then take the plates out.
Remove the pane of glass to the right without opening the door at all, reach in and carefully remove the dishes, then reglaze the opening in the door frame. BTDT. ;). Actually; what I did was lock myself in the backyard in my bathrobe on a cold morning and came back in through a window without any tools which was tricky but doable and cost only $1.25 to repair.
Call the Flash. Have Barry come over in a heart beat, he can bring you coffee, sit down to chat and make a new friend, he can quickly save the dishes then be on his way! (818) 977-2500 give CW a ring. I'm sure they can have him rush over!
I would sacrifice the top left glass window to get all the plates out safely one by one . Meaning smash the top left and there you go .
When you think something will break it usually doesnt, if you think it wont, it usually does. Open that door with every intention of breaking some dishes and I bet you'll be pleasantly suprised.
Wait! Isnt that made up of plastic? Just open it up. The least, your hse will get irrinoying noisy. Lol

Then open or and let the plate hit the fuff...
Just take the furniture backwards slowly and take the F#!$ plates out. Or just hide the mess with paper or something so you can not see thru and ask your kids to get a plate. One all are broken you can ground them and enjoy the moment!
You need a partner. The partner holds the door in place while you remove the pins from the hinges. Have the partner slowly slide the door down until you can remove the plates. Reattach the pins.
I recognize these and they are cheap Asian restaurant-style soup bowls that cost about 2 bucks a piece. Open the cupboard, let them break, throw out the ones that don't break and buy nicer bowls. Don't be so cheap.
Uninstall porcelain_plates.exe and reinstall. If that doesn't work, send bug report to tech support.
Ok...ok....ok.....this is what you need to do...go to a super walmart (not a regular one...for the love of god please listen to me)....buy these items: a blow up kiddie pool, a plunger (expensive one), a minecraft figure, 2 packages of blueberry bagels, one ceiling fan, 3 box of crayons and one Snickers bar. Next come home and lay out everything you just bought. Look at all the items closely....like really closely. Next get the plunger you bought and stand on one side of the room
Etch out a circle using a firm circular household object, i.e. Base of an old bottle of Dom Pérignon Rosé, be at the ready with a Henry Hoover, pop out glass, assistant immediately attacks lightly with vac hose to suction top plate securely to steady handed vacuum hose, relax. Ask a passer by to assist and draw both arms behind person wielding hose, lightly brushing against them seductively and ease out those ceramic rascals
I've faced this many times, just burn the cupboard, orrrr... Fill a big bucket with water and place a perforated net on top then slowly open and grab as many as you can and let the others fall into the net.
Create a time machine to take you back to yesterday, right before you told your husband it would be nice if he helped around the house more.
get really drunk to the point where you black out, then open the cabinet door. The next morning, turn it into the best drunk story ever where you found $100 behind all the dishes.
Put pillows where the plates would fall to prevent them from breaking. Also have your family there to help catch any when you open the door.
1. Illicit a partner in crime. 2. Have partner hold door and remove hinges. 3. Slowly tilt door out from the top. 4. Reach in and attempt to save dishes. 5. Cuss at broken dishes and potential broken door glass. 6. Drink wine with partner in crime. 7. No longer care about dishes. 8. Clean mess tomorrow. Buy new dishes or don't. Epic story win! Cheers
Remove the top of the cupboards and then slowly reach your hand through and grab the plates one by one then screw back on the top of the cupboard
Two ways... open the other door first... get you Hand into it slowly and fix all these things...or you can take a piece of cloth or towel and stretch open it in front the cupboard and open the door.. all the plates will fall upon the cloth.. with less damage..
Contact NASA to remove the cupboard and take on their next mission to zero-gravity space. Once safely back on Earth, reclaim cupboard and plates. Sell at auction and sell story to the papers. Retire and live handsomely.

Pray that jesus do the bread and fish trick again, but with a whole set of plates so you can replace your china
Looks like sliding doors. Just slide open on the right and pick out the bowls. You donot have any issues at all to start with.
But seriously. Its a sliding door right? Just slide it open slowly and push the stuff back lol. If it wasn't a sliding door the plates would have pushed the door open and things would have already happened.
Have two friends hold an air mattress or stretched blanket immediately under the cupboard door and slowly edge open. They won't fall more than 18" and should be fine.
Easy really. Smash the pane of glass above the dishes and reach through ( carefully ) and remove the dishes leaning against the door. Cost: one small pane of glass. If you tape up the pane you are about to smash this limits the mess😋
Get your hand in there as quickly as possible, like fingers first probably from the middle side catch as close as possible so they don't go nuchal of anywhere
Use a lasser light to cut a small hole in a glass..use your hands to arrange the plates again..
Solution: have a second person hold part of a blanket in a net type fashion under the cupboard so the dishes will fall in to it instead of the floor. Open cupboard. Worst case? Maybe 3 broken plates. Can also hold the blanket tighter to lessen the drop distance.
Problem: Ok I assume this is an overhead cupboard, both left and right are actually going to topple, and i assume you can't really open slightly like everyone expects you to because the left side is already falling through the obvious gap Solution: I suggest that you fill a washing tub that is wide enough for the width of the cupboard with a cushion. Place said tub on a stool or some other support so that the cushion is directly under the cupboard. SLOWLY open the cupboard and let each fall
Right click on the plates and hit copy.....then right click on the floor and got paste! Problem solved!
break one of that window on the top of that picture and you can take the plates out and reorganize it
Fine a carpenter to make a hole on the top of the cupboard, settle the plates, pay a carpenter 50 bucks to repair the top. Done.
The door looks like it slides, not ipen outwards. If that is true, I'll take a good bet those bowls will slide on the window if you open the door slowly. Just open the door enough to reach your hands in.

Up board door and unit have someone else hold the top and bottom of the sheet by the pole keeping the sheet tourt! First: masterbate, that should ease some stress.... Then, smoke 2 blunts of the finest indica you can find (it should help you think). Then watch some episodes of your favorite tv program while making yourself some delicious food.... When all that is said and done, take a nap. Wake up and repeat...
Obtain something ridged yet flexible, such as: thin gauge sheet metal, Formica, backing from entertainment center, Plexiglas, etc. Once you have found a suitable material slightly open the cabinet and slide the material in to hold the dishes in place. I think having 3 or 4 lengths of fiberglass rods or thin wooden dowel or hunks of plywood to stabilize the sheet material, duct tape could be used to adhere the strengthening stock to the sheet I would suggest having a few peopleon hand to help.
Cut an arm sized hole in the top of cabinet, slide arm in and straighten/stack bowls before opening the front door.
call Barry Allen, sure he can do something about it like making another time line. :) etc.....
Fill room with packing peanuts, play a couple games of Marco Polo. Yell Bazinga. When bored open the cabinet let the dishes fall safely.
go three levels deep, plant an idea into the cupboards mind. after the kick comes in, all the saucers will wake up safely in the plane.
Get a glazier, let him make a round opening in the right panel big enough to fit the plates through. He will do it with a diamond so no harm will be done, then take plates out one by one. :D
Looks like the cabinet slides open she might be able to slide her hand in to stop them from falling or call in a cabinet maker. Good luck 🍀 to you.
Assuming that the cupboard has two doors, open the other door and safely remove all the plates
1) Tint windows until you can no longer see inside 2) Ask husband to grab you bowl 3) Watch husband open cupboard 4) Blame husband 5) Divorce husband for breaking bowls 6) Remarry and hope new husband isn't as careless as your ex husband
Ask keanu reeves,he knows some matrix stuff and freeze those fallen plates then you can take them without them falling.
Pull it away from the wall slowly, very slowly, until you have enough room to go in through the back, cut a hole (granted your curio or whatever you call it, is worth less than the bowls) or lift a piece of backing and restack bowls. This wil only work if they're in a stand alone case
Open the door and let them crash- at worst it's a ten minute cleanup and ranges from $20-$200 to replace depending on how nice the plates are. Rather than trying to save them. This is a ridiculous question, is it really worth saving? I would hope they are broken and cleaned up by now (but I did need to read through three pages of comments)
Tell the plates that you are doing the #mannequinchallenge. Open the door, zoom at the plates and catch them!
If the plates are valuable/irreplaceable, take a glass cutter to the panel next to it, and access the plates through that, then replace that glass.
Bring cupboard to space. Then open the door. The lack of gravity will keep them from falling.
Open the door on the left. Cut hole in middle desk using fretsaw, so that u can reach for plates.
Little hole in the back, then fill with Little polystyrene balls as you can... Them call friends and gently turn backward the cupboard. Have good luck 😉
Cut the glass panel. Gently and slowly apply pressure but move the glass to create a gap. Eureka or prepare to be disappointed and have your breakfast out of the carton!

I kind of need to know how this ended.... did she open it? What was the result?
It's not as exciting as you'd hope...she just asked a friend round who helped her open the door slowly while she put her hand in and caught them. Pretty boring really but also makes perfect sense...all plates were saved!
