Having someone around to share the little things in life with you can make every moment seem picturesque. Yaoyao Ma Van As is a professional illustrator and animator who has drawn landscapes and other backgrounds for popular cartoons including Rick and Morty, but her greatest passion, it seems, is illustrating those magical moments. Her subject? Our relationship with our pets and the simple comfort that comes from having them around. Her dog illustrations, most of which are based on her and her little dog named Parker, will make your heart soar with their saturated colors and cozy lighting.
Her gallery doesn’t really dwell on the messy side of pet ownership, but everyone with a four-legged best friend knows that their companionship makes everything worth it, and that’s the side that the artist chooses to emphasize.

I actually had that same sofa when I was younger! Got it second hand at Goodwill. Burnt orange plush upholstery (not my choice of color, but it was newly reupholstered so I kept it), curved and carved legs, and solid wood frame. Beautiful piece of antique furniture. Sold it when I moved out of state because it was too incredibly heavy to move. Wish I’d have kept it now—-though with different colored upholstery, of course.

This satisfies my soul. It makes me feel so calm and that in I'm a dream.😌
Her strength in creating backgrounds really stands out in her beautiful depictions of every season and type of weather, with lush plants and golden sunlight, while her illustrations of evenings spent curled up below a string of fairy lights look more carefree than any photo on Instagram.

Not only does having a dog keep you from staring into the void for too long on your days off, since you have to go out and take them for a walk occasionally, but cuddling with them can actually give you a chemical boost by making you release oxytocin. The caption is misleading. While I love dogs...as long as they belong to someone else and I can give them back, like children...I am a cat person. I've had dogs & enjoyed them. While dogs bring MUCH JOY, they are also much work...much like a child. Unless a person is able & willing to devote time to properly parenting a dog, please do NOT get one! If you cannot allow a dog inside your home and "need" to always keep it outside, do NOT get one!

I've never had a dog and I'm torn between getting a small dog or just getting two kittens and calling it a day I've had a cat before I know what to do a dog seems like it's a lot of work even though it's a small one on the plus side it would get me out of the apartment the downside is it just seems like so much work then a cat even though I would be getting two

My dog, as well as my cats, just loves to burrow down into the pile of dirty laundry while I try to sort it. Because it still smells like my husband and I.

Works on every level amazing: The composition is always endearing, the central female character is so sweet you want to give her a hug, the little dog is so cute you want to reach into the painting and pet it and the nature backdrops are breathtaking. This gifted artist has an incredible future.

I love these! Especially the ones where the girl is reading - I can't do that with my dogs, one wants to play all the time, and the other will climb into my lap and sit in front of the book! XD I love them dearly though, and if you are looking for a dog, you should adopt/rescue. Best choice I ever made

I love the style, it looks so serene, peaceful and magical; I think it's the colors (except at the black and white ones) and the light. The current title through ("If You’re Not Sure What Pet You’re Going To Get In The Future, This Artist’s Illustrations Might Help You Decide") sucks; getting a dog isn't the only and for every person the best option for getting a pet
