My husband's father is a master plumber who teaches plumbing certification courses at a local community college. Growing up, my husband worked for his dad going out on calls and picking up a bit of plumbing know how. Yesterday, I discovered that he's been using a plunger wrong his whole life because he complained that he "couldn't get any suction" in our toilet. I walked in there, plunged it twice, and came to the realization I had been suspecting for years now.

There is always a reason as to why people hate, but the issue here is whether it’s justified or not. Hate is a lot easier of an emotion than love. That’s why I believe hate=weak character, while love =evolved character.

In September the government of Namibia gifted India five females and three males which were introduced back into a monitored (they have tags) sanctuary in one of their national parks. Experts are still very much divided on this though, as it's still not completely safe for them, yet. India itself is the reason they went extinct there and they haven't really changed their ways (so, not exactly trustworthy). While it is a good thing, in some respects, it's also a very potentially bad thing should India not change (development and hunting hasn't slowed). Some experts are worried that if they start to flourish, India will begin hunting them again-a very reasonable fear. They are also worried about whether or not the cheetahs will be able to adapt to the different environment enough to flourish at all. Still, there are more pros than cons for some people, but being cautious about the pros is warranted. I hope they flourish, personally, but I'm also very skeptical knowing India's history.

i have a couple trans friends and i always try to be as supportive as possible. PRO TIP FOR ALL Y'ALL TRYING TO BE GOOD ALLIES OUT THERE: if your friend comes out or if you meet a trans person, they probably wont get mad at you for forgetting pronouns sometimes. but WHATEVER YOU DO, DONT question their decision unless they EXPLICITLY ask for your advice. just take it at face value. chances are they really need that from someone.

I work at a facility with teenagers and help with training on certain topics. We teach the staff that adolescence is naturally a time of identity development and that the youth in our care are all over the map with this process. Some kids are very sure of and open about their gender identity or sexual orientation. Some kids are still exploring who they genuinely are and aren’t ready to openly label themselves. We teach staff it’s not their place to push them one way or another. Their job is to meet the kids wherever they are and show them caring, acceptance, and support. We don’t specifically direct the staff not to question them though but maybe we should add that in because I can see how invalidating and potentially harmful that would be. Thank you for sharing the shrimp whisperer, my mind’s a whirl now with how to weave it in, how to phrase it, etc.

Probably because a teacher helped by writing out the idea for them to copy. Also children often get things like this right in class, but forget later in life. Personally, I no longer mind work handed in where your and you're are used incorrectly, because I'm too busy being bothered by teens who now think it is 'ur' for both. Grrrrr

Don't downvote me, but I call BS. How much was your first paycheck? $900 could have got a car. I appreciate the sentiment, because I have a similar cherished memory with a friend who passed away. We had a food fight with giant, puffy tacos not long before he passed. They were $5 a piece and we ate half of them first.

This is me when I pull out some of my old toys for my girls to play with. And the boardgames. And the cassette tapes with stories and music on. And whenever they watch a childrens'show that me and their fad also watched as kids. When my bf and I made a box with our old dinosaur figurines COMBINED and gave it to our daughters we were in dino-teaching mode for weeks! Especially our oldest girl is a dino fan. She sometimes tells us about dinosaurs. SO CUTE!!!! (I can really recommend that ppl save their fav toys and boardgames for when they have their own kids ❤)

Because married couples don't have to go everywhere together. Few years ago, my husband had a bit too much at a work Christmas party. A nice lady he works with took his phone and called me as he had been going on about his wife so long she thought I should come get him. When I go to work parties, I don't take my husband. Last party, two guys had more than they were use to and spent most of the evening arguing over who had the better wife - I found it very sweet.

My dad asks the same question every time he sees me playing on my PlayStation and I’m 32, he’s done it ever since I got my first console and it’s his way of checking in with me to make I’m enjoying it even though he has no idea about what I’m talking bout and it’s that sort of care for me that shows he loves me no matter what. Especially as he has more in common with my brother who plays rugby and drives a lorry for a living than me who enjoys gaming and reading fantasy novels and lord of the rings. The wolves who were in the movie the Sorceror's Apprentice live at Howling Woods Farm in NJ. You can go visit them, for 30 bucks you get an hour to play with about 13 different wolves. They'll tell that they had to use rubber bands to make the wolves look like they were snarling, because they are all such big sweethearts they wouldn't growl or snarl. (They weren't hurt by the rubber bands, and they were well rewarded for doing their work).

Very much depends on the game. Any narratively driven game gets played on the easiest setting so I can also follow the story. Then I'll go back and play it on a harder setting for more of a challenge. Any brand new game also has the first level played on easiest if there's no tutorial because you'll never learn how to play if you keep losing before youve worked out what all the buttons do.

I don't play on the easiest. I play on "normal" settings, or how the game sets it usually. I tried AC in easy mode and in legendary, I didn't like either. Easy was too easy and legendary was instant death every time. So it was in between in order to have a good fight, but also enjoy the story. If I didn't get caught in between side quests. Lol

I'm just learning how to use the controller. (I used to play only with pc on keyboard but I have a good friend who has a PS so I try to learn it to be able to play together.) I'm really grateful for it if games have more difficulties because I'm still horrible with the thing.

Depends on the game really, I like a challenge but I also like to turn it down a notch when I can't get a particular boss or stretch. And sometimes I turn it up if I feel I'm getting bored. As I said, it depends.

I totally get this, my boyfriend really likes to play those strategy video games (and also just video games, like fighting games and novel games ) like those yugioh game things. He likes to talk about his new decks and how fun it is to put them together and and talking about the battles and stuff and I have no idea what he's talking about but he said he would try to teach me how to play them, but I just love when he talks about something he likes, it makes me happy. He also lsietns to me ramble about different types of alcohol markers so lol

I was recently at a friends fairly large birthday party. I sat on the ground because the table was full, and her smaller dog came and sat on my lap and her other two dogs sat right in front of me so I just pet them for like 35 minutes and didn't talk to anyone.

I actually have this problem. I take medication that depletes melatonin and discovered that the only reason we get sleepy is because of the melatonin in our bodies. So I no longer get sleepy or feel sleepy unless I take a sedative, which I don't. And yes I have tried taking melatonin (many times, many brands, many dosages) it has not worked and usually gives me a headache. So too many days I will remain awake until the sun comes up, which annoying. Oddly, WHEN the sun comes up, I usually fall asleep. After 6am or 7 am. It depends. I am not sure why I would not feel sleepy until I have been up 24 hours. Why not sleepy after 18 hours awake? Why not sleepy at 15 hours awake? What the heck does the sun coming up have to do with finally going to sleep after being up all night and up all day the day before? --- Rant over.

Sorry, but this kind of sweetness only happens in Minnesota. I had a friend from Minnesota. She said, "nobody ever leaves Minnesota. Because we are very agreeable people and when you get to the state line, there is a sign that says "Leaving Minnesota. Clean Bathrooms" so we do. And nobody ever gets any farther than that. You should see what happens when there is a sign on the floor of the grocery store that says "WET FLOOR""

Ugh are we going to have to start talking about different sized infinitys again? Take an infinite line of numbers now make a list of all the prime numbers in that line, the prime numbers list is still infinite it's just a smaller infinity than the original. The main challenge is finding enough bananas for scale.

A zillion years ago, me and a few of my girlfriends would get together on Saturday night to watch 4 half hour design shows on HGTV between 8pm and 10 pm. The drinking game was, you had to take a drink whenever someone said the words, whimsy, whimsical, or patina. Sometimes 'eclectic'. It was brutal. Everyone had to sleep over.

A png is an image format that allows for transparency. The checkered pattern behind the hat is how transparency is represented in photoshop. This usually means the background has been removed. This only works if the file is saved as a png. It the file is saved as a jpeg the transparency is discarded to make a smaller file.
