After a long week at work, some people get their energy back by going out with friends, while others put their phone on silent and stay at home instead.
If you belong to the second group (or don’t, but want to learn more about their “peculiar” nature), the Instagram account @introvertmemesss has everything you need.
It shares funny and relatable jokes for the socially exhausted, highlighting what they might not be saying out loud for fear of being misunderstood, but feel deep in their gentle souls.

Ugh, no thank you. I live in Scotland, we get this all the time and it’s miserable.
Never thought I'd love a grey, overcast days until I moved into my flat a few years ago with it's huge west facing windows. The afternoon sun is blinding even with closed blinds and heats my living room up like a sauna.
Beautiful , if you could stop the sodding wind lmao I kinda like my windows n garden stuff where they are 🤦♀️other than that rain is good , for us gardeners , in moderation ,which Mother Nature doesn’t know the meaning off ,
Pinky, are you thinking what I'm thinking? 🐭🐭🐭
Load More Replies...Yup all of the reality lol plus we just don’t like people end off, they missed that bit !
Scientists don’t know for sure what causes introversion or extraversion, but research suggests the two personality types are wired a little differently.
Introverts tend to show higher activity in certain areas of the frontal lobe, a region involved in planning, problem-solving, and memory. Extroverts, by contrast, exhibit more activity in brain regions linked to reward and sensory processing.
Introverts and extroverts also respond differently to dopamine, the chemical tied to motivation and reward. Extroverts tend to get a stronger boost from rewarding experiences, while introverts are more sensitive to stimulation and may feel easily overwhelmed.
The one nice thing about turning 70 is my memory no longer remembers many of my cringe moments of my life. The few I do remember I now laugh at. Because really, our stupidity of youth is really humorous.
For me it's nice knowing that almost all of the people I made a fool of myself in front of have passed 😎

Load More Replies...On a whim (and because it was -75% in the winter sales), I picked up Taylor Swift's remake of her 1989 album. I'm not really following her singing half the time so no idea what the songs are about... But as a person who likes symphonic metal, classical, and prog rock, there's a surprising amount of stuff going on in those songs, musically. So I've been hopping around the album and gone through three sets of batteries in my little CD player today just appreciating the arrangements.
Though, "Shake It Off", was that a challenge to create the most annoying song ever? If so, well played, it deserves a spot right next to The Blobby Song. 😂
Load More Replies...It was Tom Waits Closing Time for me. I fell in love instantly. I usually skip over Ice-cream man though.
Small Change, and specifically, Invitation To The Blues.
Load More Replies...I kept singing along with someone few have heard of. My husband said asked how I knew all the words. Dude, I have this guy on repeat all day long. It's Vinny Marchi in case anyone is interested.
Being an introvert isn’t an all-or-nothing type of label. Psychologists think of introversion and extraversion as a spectrum. Some introverts are more introverted than other introverts.
Most introverts have a few extroverted traits mixed in, and vice versa. There are many ways to be an introvert, and your style can shift depending on life and context.
Floaters. I've had them all my life, more than most apparently. As a kid i used to move my eyes around fast to make them move to my central vision and examine them better. I was very bored at school.....
I used to get the regular, boring sort of floaters from time to time. But after surgery for a detached retina, I started getting some that were absolutely lovely shapes and colors. They still come around every once in a while, like old friends stopping by to reminisce.
I have a thing like a hydra in my right eye, apparently from a retinal tear lo these many years ago. It is thin threads and mostly sleeps quietly, but occasionally floating when I'm stressed. Eye doctors tell me the cure is more dangerous than letting it be.
Like this picture they show up most when I'm lying back in the shade of a tree appreciating the summer sky. But at least I have the ability to flit my eyes around to make them dance for me.
THANK YOU! I've been frightened for quite a while. Now I can sleep in peace... 🙌🏻
Please don't ignore any type of "floaties" in my case it was a sign of a possible stroke! Check out TIA's online
Load More Replies...I've had so many TBI's that I'm losing my eyesight. Wanna talk floaters? And I'm not talking about those little black spots. Mine are like black voids that fill half my vision. Then there's the blurred vision and the frequent kaleidoscopes of shimmering colors. Don't worry. I gave up my driver's license a few years ago.
Isn't that a sign of stigmatism? I wear glasses and one time while Imwas seeing the eye doctor and describing thus floating things,my eye doctor said it was stigmatism.
Women only want one thing, starts with P and ends in S: potatoes
Hi Crystal. 👋 This is an extract from a comment you left 3 weeks ago about your cooking : "home made bread , followed by turkey , home made roasties boils spuds home made pigs in blankets". Seems like a fair bit of potato going on right there don't you think? SOOO. . . Can you eat them or not? Or is your description of your cooking the lie? LOL
Load More Replies...One popular framework divides introverts into four types:
- Social introverts. The “classic” introvert who prefers small groups and quiet settings over large crowds.
- Thinking introverts. Daydreamers who spend lots of time in their thoughts and have rich imaginations.
- Anxious introverts. People who seek alone time not just for peace, but also because social situations can feel awkward or draining.
- Restrained/inhibited introverts. Those who think before they act, carefully weighing decisions rather than acting on impulse.
Your introverted tendencies may shift over time and across different situations. You’re unlikely to swing from introvert to extrovert, but you can become more or less introverted depending on what’s going on in your life.
I used to look younger than I am, but now I look like Santa Claus! The hair and beard just turned white all at once
This is what actual albums are, or were for: Songs that flow together. OK, I am old. You can just make a "cleaning" playlist then.
Cleaning? That'll need something powerful and upbeat. Cue Avantasia... 🤘
They're happy because they know they're being recycled, and can't wait to find out what they'll be next.
Load More Replies...According to a popular misconception, introverts are shy, but these are two different things.
Shy people tend to feel awkward or uncomfortable when they’re around others, especially strangers. They might skip social events because they don’t like the negative feelings that take over their thoughts and bodies when they participate in parties or other activities.
Introverts also prefer to skip social events, but it’s not necessarily because they have strong negative reactions to larger gatherings the way shy people do; they just prefer being alone or in very small groups.
Flies are annoying, and they can spread disease, but they pale in comparison to mosquitoes. Just read that several species of mosquitoes are turning to human blood since we've destroyed most of their natural non-human sources.

I'll back up and try entering the room again, hoping the muscle memory will trigger the other memory. Sometimes it works.
Oddly enough, it has a name. The Doorway Paradox. Pretty cool really. It's about how we form memory.
Load More Replies...It's hysterical when the kid who constantly teased you about this starts.
It's called the Doorway Effect. When we pass through a doorway, our brains reset. I find if I repeat why I'm entering a room, I usually remember.
Yeah but it still made me laugh so who cares

Not me. It's essential that there are at least a handful of commonalities, otherwise I won't be interested and it'll be a waste of my time.
Though the personality trait might manifest differently depending on the person, signs that you are an introvert include:
- Need quiet to concentrate
- Are reflective
- Are self-aware
- Take time making decisions
- Feel comfortable being alone
- Don’t like group work
- Prefer writing to talking
- Feel tired after being in a crowd
- Have few friendships but are very close with those friends
- Daydream or use your imagination to work out a problem
- Retreat into your own mind to rest
Read what Scandinavians and Germans consider rude behavior, and one item on the list was talking without saying anything relevant, i.e. small talk and gossip. If only I knew years ago, I would've moved there and been with my people.
I don't ever let myself be happy because something bad /always/ happens. Yes I'm serious. Life is nothing but pain, worry, loneliness and misery.
I’m always HAPPIER I never use happy cos min I do shite happens so happier is safer , n I’m an optimist totally , but happier is ok 👍you however are very much an pessimist 100% you need to reset that mind set , when your happier life doesn’t kick you back down , just never say happy ! Works for me ,
Load More Replies...Sorry, that's too much like one of those "emotion" things that people apparently experience.
I always know why I’m mad etc , cos it only happens if I, around d others that are feeling mad angry etc , (being an empath s***s ) when I’m on my own life is calm
One might think modern life would make it easier to be alone. The internet lets you do many jobs and accomplish many tasks from a distance, and social media can provide some limited form of connection without actually having to endure a crowded bus or a lengthy conversation. But those same technological conveniences can also start encroaching on us.
“It’s repulsive to be so in touch, and feel like you’re literally in a crowd even if you’re alone in a room,” said Anneli Rufus, the author of Party of One: The Loners’ Manifesto. So let's be kinder to the quiet type.
Eyoo another kpop meme in the wild!! It's Danielle, (former) member of NewJeans (it's a mess 🥲)

Me when my husband goes to bed and leaves the bathroom door wide open. 😤
He looks as if he still hasn't lost that child inside him
I don't even get this far because I'm standing there wondering why I came in the room.
My spousal unit and I both have "la crève" (a nasty cold) right now, and have been isolated at home for the past week. We have coughed so much that it hurts, and we are actually doing this same gesture to prevent coughing because we have a secondary sore throat from all the coughing we have done. He's at one end of the house and I am at the other and the cats are running between us to whomever is the quietest.
A certain Mr. Musk seems to be demonstrating this quite well. 🤑

Happy to give directions. It's the realisation two hours later that I've sent them in the WRONG direction...
I'll happily give you directions. I'll give you very clear directions referring to specific shaped trees, that pothole I must remember to miss, that place I nearly ran over a cat (not my fault, it dashed out into the road), and where a tractor fell into the ditch back in 2003. Makes perfect sense to me. 😉
The only places i have definite directions to from anywhere are the library and my house

Load More Replies...Yep, I got broken up with exactly one year after the day we met. I put a bunch of thought into this message about how much I loved and cared about them that morning, and that evening they called me and said "We're better off as friends but nothing is going to change." We used to talk for hours and call every single night. We've called once in the last month. They're my only friend. It's been fun.
