Airlines are government regulated. Passengers, by buying tickets accept the regulations as they apply to the passenger. Break those regulations, and it reflects on the airline. This is one reason why fines can be so high. There are many more.
Nobody wants to be seen as a pushover, and if you genuinely are entitled to something, you shouldn’t be afraid to say so. Boss refuses to accept your time-off requests even though you’ve acquired dozens of days off? Speak up. Food courier forgot half of the meal you paid for at the restaurant? You deserve to get your money back. But it’s important that we all understand what we’re actually entitled to versus what our delusions tell us we deserve.
The Entitled “Batch” subreddit (who’s name we’ve had to censor) is all about calling out individuals who believe they are owed much more than they really are. It describes itself as a place “to post and read about experiences with people who think they can always get their own way and are better than everyone,” and it’s become quite popular. The sign covers "returns" which is different from "exchanges". Of course if your item is defective and you want to switch it out for another that would be done. This cuts down on people who obtain items via other means trying to return an item for a cash/store credit. Do you know how many women will purchase $300+ dresses to wear to a function then try to return it the next day?

About a year ago I saw someone riding a bike the wrong way up a major thoroughfare. The next thing I hear is "YOU CAN'T TALK TO MY SON LIKE THAT!" Someone recently parked in my driveway (I live next to a field where they were holding a kids football tournament). I told him it was my private space and he couldn't park there, his reply was "f**k off, you're not using it" (my car was in the garage, which I couldn't open as this asshat had parked on my drive). I went to the shed, got my old wheel clamp, and then shouted to him "20 seconds to move it or you won't be able to". I got the same reply as first time. So, while grinning at him, I put the clamp on his car, making sure it was extra tight, pointed out the sign on my garage door saying anyone who parks there will be clamped, then put the key in my pocket, got into my wife's car (which was next to his on the driveway) and drove to work. Had a call from a neighbour a few hours later saying there was a guy kicking off and my new car was getting towed (wasn't mine obviously, was this random a******s car). He must have called a tow truck himself and got them to take his car.

Military "dependent" for 67 years. Dad was an Army Chaplain for 28 years, husband, AF for 26 years, and all three kids AF. Various and multiple family members served in all other branches. I moved to my new rental on New Year's Eve. Beautiful property, 5 bedrooms, half acres, fruit trees etc. The landlady had been in hospital for skin cancer. Met her the day before moving in. There was smoke damage from the previous tenants burning plastic with the wood burner open. No worries, I cleaned the soot, washed all the woodwork, bathroom etc. Landlady gave 2 weeks no rent, reimbursed all cleaning product costs, new curtains, carpets and vinyl throughout in the first 3 weeks, brought fresh fruit, veg and meat. That's a truly decent landlady.

As a landlord (of only 1 house), if my tenants ever tipped me i'd give it them back and tell them not to do it again. They help pay for my mortgage and make it so i don't have to sell what is my pension fund. I keep rent as low as possible and do what i can for them, not the othr way round

Yes, definitely seems like sarcasm to me. I think the marriages out of order is a bit generational and cultural. I can remember that being talked about in my family that it was kinda scandalous for a younger sibling to get married before their older sibling. Not something I personally care about, but I can remember hearing adults talk about it when I was a kid. Sounds like OP comes from a culture where the older generation still has that mindset. They probably got a lecture from some older relative when they announced their wedding and this was their sarcastic response.

She PAID for that seat, and so long as she's there in boarding time - she can be there 5 seconds before the plane door closes - it doesn't mean you can just sit in someone else's seat. Also, know what seat charts are and why they have them? Hope you never have to find out.

Never mind that. People that dump their trolley in the bike park, then have the audacity to get mad at ME, and other bike users, because you've had to park just anywhere you can. I've had my gear guard smashed off, one of my gear lever covers smashed off, the chain knocked free, my saddle ripped, a pedal damaged. I could go on, all because people have rammed their bloody trolley into my bike. Just the other day I had a delightful woman throw the whole bike down. Just because she didn't like where I parked it (which was not in any way preventing her, or anyone, from getting a trolley, etc). Fortunately I now have permition to take it into the shop (ALDI), so if I can't park in the actual BIKE PARK I just put it out the way inside the shop. People make no sense, honestly. THAT'S MY REGISTERED MOBILITY AID. She even saw I use a sick!

I have only once seen someone do this for good reason. The only places to put the cart were pretty far and she was essentially using it like a walker. Sometimes it’s hard to admit when you need more help or maybe she couldn’t afford a walker or forgot hers so I think that’s a pass. Most are just lazy though.

I doubt it. Jetliners generally have three types of emergency doors, a set in the front, a set in the back, and a set in the middle, the front and sometimes also the back doors are usually used for boarding people, so there is a small aisle there. Only the overwing doors (the ones in the middle) have passengers seated in front of them, who is expected to handle them in an emergency. If you look at the illustration for how to handle the door, after you have opened it, it says to grab it with both hands and throw it out of the hole left in the fuselage, so it won't block the access for the passengers. This is hard to do with one hand. The reason why the door must open inwards, is a safty measure, to prevent the door from being able to be blown out from the higher cabin pressure while the plane is flying.

The Uber driver went to the wrong terminal for some reason, and when I called him he berated me, told me that I was actually the one in the wrong location, and told me he was cancelling and I needed to call another Uber (which would mean another 15-20 min wait) because he couldn’t be bothered to drive the 3 minutes over to the correct location.

The whole point of Aldi and Lidl, is that they can give competitive prices by having fewer staff, and ALL staff are trained on ALL jobs. If you want the cheap prices, you have to 'agree' to the wait. Go elsewhere if you're impatient. It'll take just as long because Aldi zips through a cartload far more quickly than other supermarkets.

[ ............ ] The pinheads in supermarkets that annoy me the most (and there are plenty here) are the ones that put their cart on one side and look at the shelf on the other, completely blocking the aisle. Oft times, the cart is 90 degrees to the direction of the aisle. My solution is to go through them, not their cart. They move quickly when they realize there are consequences.

Why do people doesn't say anything? I'm flying inside Europe quite many times for vacation and business. I rarely encounter such a rude behaviour, but every time is a passanger from American continent. Not just USA, but mainly. Every time, when I see something like this, I see the cabin crew as confused as I am, but they are dealing with it. And in most cases all the other passengers expresses their fúck-you-but-now-really reaction.

I had a kid go and pet my (very friendly) dog and I took it as a teaching moment. Got down on their level, showed them how to hold your hand out to sniff first, ask permission, etc. I did it kindly and it turned into a convo between me, the kid, and the kid's parent. Just do things nicely and it usually works out.

Mmm, if it was just 3 pennies, and if there was a long line of people behind you, methinks you are quite ill-known in that place and it was the last straw for Christian. No employee in the world would hassle a long-time regular customer over 3 pennies. A normal, friendly customer that is, not Chinese water torture personified.

Reminds me of a story from years ago. I was on my way home from work, late, I stopped at a '76 station for a sixer and the guy in front of me was trying to buy a tin of snoose. Can you guess which country I live in? The clerk offers him one and he asks "Can you look in back to see if you have anything fresher?". The clerk says "No I can't do that". Obvious reasons. He doesn't have enough change for the tin. He goes back out to his car. I buy my beer and pay cash and he comes back as I'm getting my change. "He bro, you got any change" "Nope, not for you." "Well thanks for NOTHING!". Shrug my shoulders and said, shouldna been an a*****e.

There are some geographical idiosyncracies at play here. In my part of the country it is very common for people with lots of items to allow someone with a few to step ahead, but it is not that way everywhere. I think that may have affected their expectations a bit....on the other hand.... screw hobby lobby they abuse their employees and the owners are notorious for enforcing their religious views on the staff.

Yes the waiter should have received a tip, though we are not told why. Maybe his service was appalling. Even if we assume his service was good and he deserved a tip, the waiter then went public and made what I can only assume was a defamatory statement on their Facebook page. He is lucky he just got fired and not sued for defamation. Imagine if all servers went around identifying and defaming their customers? It's totally inappropriate and illegal.

If the work is getting done, stfu and mind your own, unless you intend to actually have/show concern for their health. If the work isn't getting done, have a chat with the employee about work not getting done. Maybe there's a medical reason for it, maybe she's on her phone, maybe you're actually exaggerating (most likely). You don't actually KNOW she's on the phone, so drop that assumption right out the gate. My husband has an employee who has frequent bathroom trips, and guess what.....he doesn't care, except to allow him the time he needs to not only get his job done but also ensure his health is protected. He's a fantastic person, fabulous employee, and a good friend. I can't imagine anyone giving him grief for needing the bathroom more frequently than others.

I've got a nurse who comes to my home every day to help me with every day tasks and she uses the bathroom she makes herself a cup of tea she can have a sandwich she can go into the presses to take something to eat I have no issues as long as the job gets done.
