To be fair, this here is more a question of the morality of fur than being rich. I personally have fur things too, however, it's from fox fur of the local hunting season, so the foxes anyway had to be shot for population control to evade rabies outbreaks. Fur is also more durable and eco friendly than plastic. However, that doesn't excuse fur farms at all, I am sure the minks that died for these shoes lived a miserable life in their tiny cages before becoming slippers.

What do you think faux fur is made from? Cotton? It's polyester and acrylic, i.e, plastic. It may be more ethical, but it's not environmentally friendly. That's not ethical in a different way

Gosh, I can’t imagine. When I was a teen me and my family were very well off. But when I was with my friends that were in different situations we would always do something we could all afford, like thrifting and finding the ugliest things we could or going to a matinee and sneaking candy in. I went to a private school with kids whose parents owned jets and a yacht and other kids who were there because of donations. There were good kids that had the jet and yacht lifestyle but gosh there were kids who were so clueless. One kid said he was poor. Pointed out he lived on a golfing neighborhood (the links were his backyard) and owned a golf cart and boat. He still said he was poor. Smh

I was working my way through college, and my Mom said this to me when she wanted me to take a vacation to Greece with her and my dad for a cousin's (get side of the family) wedding. -_- Despite working as much as possible, and work+classes+studying giving me, typically, 16hr days, I still had to take out a ton of loans just to afford school and rent, and she expected me to be able to take time off. Some people are just out of touch.

A lot of these are failures on the part of the parents for not teaching their offspring to behave like spoiled brats. My dad was in the army and I have 4 brothers and sisters so the only time we got takeout was on a birthday and it was always Macdonalds. I can’t ever imagine being so arrogant as to whine because I got the wrong colour laptop or car
