The first picture is the kind of thing I used to save as my background to remind myself not to eat. Now I just try to eat healthy foods and get regular exercise and don't give a damn about the scale or the measuring tape. (No hate btw, if that's her natural shape then that's beautiful. Nowadays, we’re all familiar with what it takes to get content for social media. 4.9 billion people on the planet use at least one form of social media, and 85% of people with cell phones use social networking sites. So there’s no reason to shame anyone who wants a cute pic in front of the Eiffel Tower or who wants a selfie of their family out at a celebratory birthday dinner. The difference, however, between the average Instagram user and those featured on Influencers in the Wild, is that most of us know the appropriate etiquette for taking pics in public.
It’s important not to impose on those around you or cause a traffic jam when trying to get content for social media. Apparently, many people still need to learn this though, as Influencers in the Wild has shared over 1,200 photos and amassed an impressive 4.9 million followers. So we’re not trying to shame anyone for caring about their Instagram aesthetic or wanting to capture lifelong memories on vacation. But just remember when you’re taking pics in public, you’re not the only one around!

But it’s likely that some of them do dream of making money off of social media, as 54% of 13 to 38-year-olds want to become influencers. And who can blame them? There’s serious money to be made on social media, as 1 News reports that “micro-influencers” who have between 10,000 to 50,000 followers can make up to $170,000 a year from social media.
30% of children in the UK listed being a YouTuber as their top career choice, which might sound funny to some of us in older generations, but those kids may be onto something. The largest creator on the platform, Mr. Beast, has over 104 million subscribers and earned approximately $90 million in 2021. Perhaps parents should actually be encouraging their kids to pursue careers online!

She knocked a golf ball into a canyon. That golf ball could hit people on the trails/the bottom, or it could shatter rock strata and trigger a rockslide or collapse, just to name a few. It’s incredibly dangerous, worse than throwing a rock as a struck golf ball has WAY more physical kinetic force behind it when it hits something.

A former colleague of mine was arrested after she wrote her name in very large letters on Ayres Rock (now rightly named Ularu) For those who don't know, Ularu is a sacred site. This was in about 1970 I hope time and weather has repaired the damage. We read it in the paper, she had a very unusual name and there could only be one nurse with that name. Because of how popular it has become to chase the dream of becoming an influencer, people are encouraged to do increasingly crazy things online that will gain them attention. And unfortunately, some people believe that all press is good press. Pranking innocent people in public, spending exorbitant amounts of money on huge meals that will inevitably create lots of waste and creating drama in their personal lives are just a few of the ways influencers can get attention on the internet. Of course, there are plenty of harmless and even wholesome ways content creators can gain followers too, but it’s a sad truth that unhinged photos and videos are more likely to spread like wildfire.

Well, to be fair, I don't mind that she's thumbing her nose (so to speak) at the Catholic patriarchy.
It’s perfectly possible to take photos and videos in public while respecting your fellow human beings. You shouldn’t feel ashamed to get that bikini pic while on vacation, and you should never miss an opportunity to capture you and your partner enjoying a lovely picnic. But there are a few ground rules to keep in mind. According to Harry Guinness at How-To Geek, it’s important to make sure that you’re actually in a public place. Some places, such as malls and museums, have certain restrictions on photos and recording because they’re actually considered private locations. If someone asks you to stop taking pictures, be respectful and move on to another location.

On the plus side, when a bunch of kids did that in a school near me, they were all on video. Parents put up the money, and the kids had to fix it up themselves. I feel slightly less judgy of this one if they are just trying to get a look for a photo. This technique is done all the time in movies. Actors dress for the written scene and try to pretend the weather matches. In the extras of LOTR there is footage of them melting the snow around the creek where Golum dives in and catches a fish. The actor is in a wet suit and says it was still very cold.

Ugh. My dad fell off of a ladder and sustained a traumatic brain injury that left him near-vegetative. He was in a coma for 6 months, and when he (barely) came out of it, he could not talk, move, walk, or eat. He spent the next 21 years bedridden, wearing a diaper, with a feeding tube implanted in his stomach. We took care of him at home. He died two years ago. DO NOT fúck around with stupid fúcking idiot stunts like this, for your family's sake.

I was at Walmart trying to buy groceries, and there was a group of people videoing on their phone with a shopping cart full of products. The first time they got in my way I waited, then after that I butted my way in and messed up their video. It's Walmart, I want to buy my groceries and go home. It's not just "influencers" that do this....I traveled recently the entire length of Vietnam and every young female there thinks they're ina photo shoot and all the photos are of their backside as they look at something, occasionally a picture of their face as they glance over their shoulder. EVERYTHING is a photoshoot. I watched this one young couple go "out for dinner" but they didn't eat; it was as if the dude was her personal photographer and when he did try to eat, she yelled at him for not taking more pictures of her. I went on an amazing hike in the mountains near Ninh Binh and these women brought props and everything and were blocking the whole trail, oblivious that there's anyone around them. I had to literally shame these two young ladies cuz they were in an old prison cell inside the Hanoi Hilton (as it's loosely referred to) attempting to do one of these àsshole photoshoots and I told them how disgusting and disrespectful their behavior was.
