32 Of The Biggest Falls From Grace In Hollywood, According To This Viral Thread
The show business is brutal. One day you're a star, the next you're struggling to find a gig and desperately trying to stay relevant. And there are so many examples of the industry chewing up its talents!
To refresh their memory, Reddit user Conjobbed recently made a post on the platform, asking others, "Which actor [and] actress had the most depressing fall from grace?" People immediately started listing names.
Some of the mentioned celebrities lost their battles with addiction. Others committed despicable acts and have only themselves to blame. What's clear, though, is that there are plenty of ways for a career to end in Hollywood.

I don't think people growing up today realize how much of a father-figure Bill Cosby was to a huge number of us. He was nothing but wholesome in his presentation of himself.
For him to commit such ugly and awful things feels like a personal betrayal to all of us who grew up regarding him so highly.
What an a*****e.
I had one of his books. I threw it away. I DON'T THROW AWAY BOOKS....
A girl I went to college with did a presentation in our Public Speaking class about Cosby, all the good/charity work he had done, and how his humor and speeches about kindness got her through her sister’s unexpected death. I can’t imagine how betrayed she felt when everything came out a few years later.
Bill Cosby always gave off a cringe vibe to me. It's revolting how the corporate media kept trying to brainwash everyone into looking up to this garbage creature as a role model. Remember the saying: "Clean gloves hide dirty hands".
What's seriously effed is that there are still people who think he's innocent. I found the transcripts where he admitted to doing it and some kinds of people STILL deny it.
You can down vote me if you want but I don't know how his wife stayed with him through his atrocities that's number one who he betrayed..
I read the Janice Dickenson biography NO Lifeguard on Duty back in 2005, and she details her experience of having been drugged and raped by him back then. I told some friends about it and they thought I was crazy...till I wasn't.
We used to watch Kids Say the Darndest Things...now its a bit disturbing
I CRIED like a little baby when I heard that Cosby was nothing more than a RAPIST. It is still hard for me to wrap my mind around. I was a latch key kid in the 80's. Raised by a single mom who was either working or partying. The TV was my babysitter. I learned to tell time by watching Sesame Street. I had no idea what a family was supposed to act like until I saw the Cosby Show. It had 2 parents who loved each other and their children. Mom and Dad were actually equal and not just master(Dad) and servant (Mom) like all other shows before it. I could probably quote almost all the episodes. Especially the Grandparents Anniversary episodes. Now all I see is a creepy gynecologist who "treats" women in his basement.
Handsome, charming, funny, and smart. He could have had a line of very willing women lined up outside his hotel room every night if he wanted to. But instead ...
Jake Lloyd. No one deserves that, much less a kid.
The Star Wars fandom is as awesome as it is toxic. They did the same thing to Hayden Christensen, to the point where he quit acting for years. They treated him as if it was his fault that George Lucas can't write dialogs worth a damn. And then it happened again to the actors of the new movies. These people will never be satisfied.
I don't see how being diagnosed as Schizophrenic is letting someone down...?
Apparently he was bullied relentlessly at school for his portrayal of Anakin. He quit acting because of it.
Load More Replies...I’ve never seen “Star Wars” (so I have no clue what happened to this kid), but what’s the metal … creature? … with a bicycle on the right hand side of the photo? IS it a creature?
another reason Stars Wars did not need prequels or sequels. Hell, it should have been ONE FILM.
O.J. Simpson. He wasn't primarily an actor certainly, but he did act (most notably in the Naked Gun movies and Roots). It's genuinely hard to explain to people who weren't alive at the height of his fame what a huge deal O.J. Simpson was, and how beloved he was, and how absolutely shocking it was when Nicole Brown Simpson and Ron Goldman were murdered and then he went on the lam in the Bronco. It was wild to live through it. The older I get, the more I realize just how young Nicole and Ron were, and how much life they had left to live.
The OJ Simpson murder trial was muddied severely by the systemic, blatant racism in the LAPD. At the time a lot of people defended him just out of response to that - which is understandable - despite the evidence. 30 years later, it's pretty damn certain that he did it. Even though he didn't go to jail for murder, though, it's a stretch to say that OJ "got away with it".
Nicole had also been with him since she was 18, she literally didn't know any long term relationships outside of him. i remember the trials when they were on TV as a kid and being like "she took too long to leave him" not realizing how young she was
There is also an interesting irony: He was considered to play the "Terminator", but got rejected because him being an ice cold killer seemed to far off...
James Cameron debunked this. On Chris Wallace's show he said that the idea was picked to him and he immediately said that "it was a bad idea".
Load More Replies...But not a surprise. The prosecutors bungled it big time.
Load More Replies...This guy is the reason the Bills have no running game. You cursed them, OJ.
Mel Gibson spouting anti-semitic bile when he was arrested for a DUI
A drunken mind speaks a sober heart the A$$hat meant everything he barfed out.
I won't watch any of his films, I won't watch anything he's in.
He wasn't chastised because he said anti-Semitic things. he was chastised because he said them out loud. Hollywood and the political left, I repeat myself, are noticeably anti-Semitic but don't say it out loud.
(Keep in mind I am an ATHEIST) I think the reason people are so anti-Semitic is because Jews "had it right" before anyone else. The Torah is the foundation for the Big Three monotheistic religions. Seems to me that the "Chosen" people should keep on doing what they're doing. I mean Jesus was a Jew, right? He never said, " And you shall create a new religion, name it after me, and kill anyone who doesn't agree"
Load More Replies...Some people of China, of course, it's not official
Load More Replies...He is an amazing, talented and entertaining actor. That's all i need to know. Why? He's not a friend, co-worker or family member. He's an actor, and i don't need someone to be a good, or even mediocre human being to appreciate and acknowledge their talent. Absolutely everyone alive, is judged, hated and vilified by one or many other people....because absolutely everyone is trash in someone elses eyes.
Ellen DeGeneres. The infamous Queen of Nice. And a really great observational relatable comedian turning out to be not so nice, but rather cruel, manipulative, and just downright mean. Such a huge disappointment...
Me too. I could never understand why people thought her sitcom was funny. I started watching it as an ally, but got bored long before it even got to the openly-gay-dealing-with-everything episodes.
Load More Replies...I worry about Portia Di Rossi. She retired from acting when she married Ellen, and I hope she's not trapped.
this. a gay icon, a comedian who never punched down, who never made someone the butt of her jokes, is a horrible human who makes fun of people, scares them (despite being asked not to), and bullies them. yeah the hell with her.
She was my role model. Her story of coming out in a time where it was not accepted was hugely inspirational to me. This one hurts the most.
I think fame, success, money etc really can bring out the worst in people. Maybe she was genuinely nice back in the day and gradually over time became the person with her now well know horrible treatment of people - have enough people falling over themselves telling you how amazing you are, throwing money at you how long until you believe you're better than everyone else and treat them accordingly? Money and success = lack of consequences - we see it over and over. I'd like to think I would never turn out in such a way but who really knows? Humans are fickle and egotistical and it happens more than it doesn't. I've never been an Ellen fan but if this proves anything is that money and fame changes people over time.
I always called her Ellen DanGerous...if there was no fire, there would be no smoke...but there was a lot of smoke, don't you think?
Amanda Bynes's story breaks my heart. I loved All That, The Amanda Show, and What I Like About You growing up. She had such a natural sense of humor. It's sad seeing her struggle with her sobriety and mental health.
No. This does not belong here - how can you say someone with mental health issues (and suffered, very publicly, the consequences) let you down - maybe a fall from grace - but still, no.
To be fair the original post that BP has ripped all this from didn't mention being let down, BP added that for seemingly no reason. It's titled "who had the most depressing fall from grace", which this absolutely belongs to because her fall from grace is tremendously sad and depressing.

Jussie Smollet - He was a rising star. I mean even people who didn't watch Empire kind of had an idea who he was (I have not watched Empire but their promos always featured him in flashy clothes and singing his heart out and I keep thinking man, this guy is a treat). Then he faked a hate crime and it was his downfall. It apparently cost him the show, endorsements backed out, etc. I'm still confused why he did it.
Jimmy Saville - Beloved by kids and grans all over the greater UK. He genuinely seemed like a great guy that takes care of sick people (like a caring uncle or something like that). And then he turned out to be a total monster who preyed on the sick children and teens who were in the hospitals he worked in. What's even more horrible is that this was kept from the public til he died.
And was given access to hospital morgues in exchange for donations. I'll let you fill in the blanks.
Load More Replies...Saville always have me the heebies as a kid, my dad once asked if I wanted to write in and I ran away crying at the thought so I wasn't shocked at his particular revelation, was more thinking how people never saw he was a major creep to begin with
I watched the documentary but being an American I did not realize the impact until then
I hadn't heard of Jimmy Saville until now. Wish I still hadn't.
Had to google who Jimmy Savile was. Wow a true monster, psychopath even. To use charity as a way to hide your evil deeds. I hope hëll is real and I hope he’s burning there
Alison Mack. From teen star to weird abusive sex cult.
wild, she played a psycho on Wilfred and it turned out to mimic real life.
I got confused... with Alex Mack. Now "alex mack wears a hat...how bout that?" Is repeating in my brain GD-it
Amy Winehouse :(
Don't understand why she always got so much hate when she was alive.
Looking at the top comment is an example. I'm a child of an alcoholic and have always had issues with media and celebrities praising alcoholism. My friends told me I had the "cool, fun mom" but they didn't have to deal with the cussing, beatings, and other things BP will censor that happened to me because she was out of her mind. Media icons imo have a duty to utilize their fame to help persuade social rights and all I see around Amy is "who cares? Her voice was great!" But, plus sized singers and actresses get berated to hell.
Load More Replies...Some of us seem to forget that alcoholism is a disease that brings out behaviors that would not be considered in a mentally healthy, physically healthy person. Every brain is a naturally a little different in each of us so our reactions to addiction not surprisingly can be also. But her voice was magical and gift for the time she was on the planet. A beautiful lady for a short time.
Amy DIED. How dare you besmirch her. She was talented and beautiful and gave her soul to the world through her music
Kevin Spacey. He was considered the elite actor of his generation for years, then his bad behavior (and subsequent meltdown) made him a pariah.
Found not guilty in New York, found not guilty on trial in London. What's left? https://www.npr.org/2023/07/26/1190185518/kevin-spacey-sexual-assault-trial-verdict-london
Yep, I feel bad for him now that all these trials are happening and he is being found not guilty of these accusations.
Load More Replies...It was shown in court that his accuser lied. He won. In the eye of the law, he was never an abuser. Sadly it is easy and so fast to accuse someone today and cancel without any proof
In the eye of the law, the prosecution didn’t present evidence to sway a jury, nor did it decide “he wasn’t an abuser.” That’s not in the jury’s purview. Doesn’t mean he’s innocent. His bad behavior was well-known in Hollywood a couple decades before the public heard about it. And think about all the people who don’t come forward because sexual assault is REALLY hard in the accuser (their entire dating history is brought up, just to name one really daunting aspect). I sat on a jury for three months in an embezzlement case. The two on trial were CLEARLY guilty to every single one of us. It was also clear the prosecution didn’t prove their case, so we let them go. Over drinks afterwards, the prosecutor told me he wasn’t allowed to present his best evidence. Sometimes, juries hafta let guilty people go. 😰
Load More Replies...London. Michael Barrymore was found not guilty but no one would touch him again.
In retrospect, the plot of »American Beauty« seems like a thwarted prophecy of the Delphic Oracle...
He was found NOT GUILTY on a court of law. I don't know what really happened but...
Lindsay Lohan. She seems to be doing better now but her career could have been way better.
My daughter was just the right age when Lohan starred in the remake of The Parent Trap. Lohan was brilliant in both roles, imo, and had a promising career ahead of her. Unfortunately, the world and the industry are not kind to child stars.
Shia LaBeouf.
Call it method acting or not but shooting stray dogs with real guns in order to somehow groove into a role is just disgusting and unforgivable...
People, just keep in mind that supporting and spreading negative information about a person you ve never met or an event you didnt witness yourselves is like admitting that internet and paparazzi media give all the material needed to judge someone.
I thought this was talking about the song with his name... I didn't realize he had actually done s**t.
It's just called Nymphomaniac (volumes 1 & 2). It's a superb story. Have you watched it or just perused the parents guide? It's not rated so one would imagine that children wouldn't be allowed to watch it. It's just se x. Granted it's highly fetishized but it is just se x. As someone that can relate to Jo (the main character) I'm glad to see myself represented.

A lot of child stars. But when you look into it, you’ll see why. Just read Jennette McCurdy’s book.
I've seen several interviews with her - and looking at her past (controlling, manipulative mother, abuse on set) makes me sad and angry. She deserved so much better.
she and Wil Wheaton, and Drew Barrymore, and so many others whose parents were abusive controlling stage "parents"
Load More Replies...i don't know that i'd call this jennette's fall from grace though. like i respect the hell outta her for saying out loud what happened and who was responsible and who is ultimately the most hurt
Yeah she stepped away from the spotlight, but didn’t do anything wrong.
Load More Replies...Great book. I had no idea who she was or what she was from, but it was still worth the read
I agree that there's no real theme on this list. She suffered a horrific childhood and survived; how the hell does she belong in the same company as Ezra Miller?
It was before my time, but after watching a few documentaries, I can’t believe the utter tragedy that was Elvis Presley’s life.
Stunning. My mom loved him too. What a voice that man had.
Load More Replies...His life was destroyed courtesy of Colonel Parker, his so-called manager.
Is life was destroyed by himself. He kept too many yes men
Load More Replies...He was against racism way before most. That means a lot to me.
The man was a pedophile. What kind of grown-a*s man pursues a 14 year old?
Idk...the Southern musician kind? Ever hear of Jerry Lee Lewis?
Load More Replies...I dearly hope that Col. Parker rots in Hell. He and the 'Dr' who prescibed all the meds killed Elvis.
Read Hollywood Babylon. Him having Nick Adams as a boyfriend was nothing to what he really did, which I don't think I can say here.
Chris Farley. The stereotypical shy, innocent, modest, and well-mannered Midwestern boy from a loving home by all counts. Fame ripped him apart. The worst part is the escort he was with the night of his death took photos of his body, not knowing he was dead, because she thought it was hilarious that he couldn't smoke as much crack and snort as much heroin as she could. It's disgusting, and when you hear Dave Chappelle talk about how Hollywood corrupts and ruins good people.... it makes a lot of sense.
This list has no focus. There are people who have committed heinous crimes against others mixed in with people who had hard and tragic lives. They don't belong in the same list!
Yeah I really wouldn’t call him ‘a fall from grace’.
Load More Replies...He wasn’t a bad person he just made bad choices. Huge difference here. Chris Farley was a treasure and even 30 years later he’s still missed
He was a brilliant comedian and a great actor! I will forever miss him.
Chris Farley didn't fall from grace - he's still a national treasure and always will be 🖤
That escort taking pics of him? She heard his last words. "Please don't leave me"
Ezra Miller.
Please say who these people are! I have no idea who ths person is or what they did.
Ezra plays The Flash. Believes themselves to be some kind of god iirc, tried to run a bit of a cult, robbed a house, arrested for several assaults on women, been accused of manipulating and grooming a fan since she was 12, accused of holding a family in unsafe conditions. Craz stuff. Heard that they've been taken to get help though.
Load More Replies...Just remember that when it comes to Miller, we're talking about someone who has a severe mental illness. When you think you're the Jesus, the Devil or that the freemasons are trying to kill you, you need a psychiatric hospital. And they managed to get Miller some help finally, but it should have come sooner.
DC was my favorite growing up and I have enjoyed a lot of movies and shows I'm this universe. I completely disengaged from The Flash with Ezra Miller playing the character though. I don't know if it's mental health issues, drug use, or just simply he has a God complex because he is famous. None of these excuse his behavior like the tantrums at public places, and his questionable behavior with minors. I just don't want to engage with anything he is apart of.
Yeah. I really wish it wasn't the one Michael Keaton returned as Batman. I want to see that so bad, but I refuse to watch the movie.
Load More Replies...Just because someone is mentally ill doesn't mean that they have no acting talent.
It's so confusing because he does such a great job as the Flash.
I’m going to date myself, but Winona Ryder had a really rough period. Glad she came out of it though.
"I'm going to date myself"? Is that a new ideom or figure of speech I don't know? English is not my first language
It's not new. It's somewhat common. It means "show my age". Think of "date" being used in this circumstance the same way that you'd think of the phrase "carbon dating" or "this painting was dated to the 1800s". Hope that helps 😁
Load More Replies...If what happened then happened today, she would've been more famous for it.
Phillip Seymour Hoffman. Eighteen years clean, all ruined in seconds.
this one broke my heart. but this wasn't his first time using after he fell off the wagon. he'd been using heroin for a while again, before he died. so talented, so tortured.
Addiction is an illness. Why do you sneeze when you have a cold?

Michael Richards. Kramer from Seinfeld.
It was just unfortunate.
I prefer it when people tell us who they really are. I don't want to unknowingly support pieces of s**t.
Load More Replies...Unfortunate, hardly. He chose racism and being a loud mouth bully. He got what he deserved.
Whitney Houston
this one hurt too. she was pushed into parts of fame she never wanted.
Stephen Collins. Pretty spectacular downfall. I feel bad for his victims first and his castmates second. That show was the high point for almost all of their careers, and a child molester tarnished it.
He confessed in a recorded therapy session (he did not know was recorded) that he had exposed himself to and SA'd several underage girls
What irritates me is that his wife used the tapes in the divorce even though she must have had access to them years earlier. (That's as far as I understand from what I've read.) So she only decided to use the tapes as leverage during the divorce? That makes her just as bad IMO.
Load More Replies...I love the first Star Trek movie, but I can’t watch him without feeling sick.
Judy Garland... Rest her talented, tortured soul...
Just because a person falls from grace doesn't automatically mean they descend into evil.
Load More Replies...There's a place in hell for Judy Garland's mother and MGM for the hell they put her through. They ruined that poor woman's life. Starved her, plied her with uppers and downers, forced her to work for days at a time... she's a poster child for child labor laws.
I think the article she belongs to is Hollywood Actors Who Were Tortured in Fame
Louis CK really disappointed me. I know other stars have done worse, but the scandal really affected me for some reason
I had so many issues with this. He asked. People said yes. I understand that what he asked wasn't "good," but we preach consent, so now should we all be scared if someone says yes? The whole situation is crappy.
Is “ other stars have gotten worse” supposed to be some kind of defense for sexual assault?
Will Smith
The apology did him in for me. Saying the pressure to be the happy person everyone expects is hard. People working retail or waitressing smile while being yelled at. Yet they do it every day and go home to NOT millions of dollars, maids, and vacations. If Will doesn't like the job he can do what millions of people in minimum wage jobs CAN'T do...take his millions in savings and retire.
How's this? You don't. F*****g. Hit. People. No matter how bad their words "hurt" you. (Sole exception: Nazis. Always punch Nazis.)
...and racists...and rapists...and murderers...and bigots...and... 😀
Load More Replies...Personally, his wife is a piece ... of work. Who does that to the person they love?
I have to blame his wife for not being able to laugh at a joke that was aimed in her direction. If you watch the footage, Will laughed. Then she gave him "the look". All of this could have been avoided if she wasn't so up tight. Yes, Will did the slapping and that should NEVER have had happened.
I don't even remember seeing any backlash on him for this. Maybe I just missed it. I saw him laughing until he saw his wife's face.
He slapped someone publicly, which is battery. Over a (bad) joke. If we all did that, there'd be no one left to arrest, we'd all be in jail. So.... he and his cult can go suck arsenic.
If that's how you slap a child, I'm concerned for your family.

Shelley Duvall.
She was a great actress and the series she created about fairytales was wonderful. Dr Phil exploited her mental illness.
And Kubrick contributed to her illness as well. He put EVERYONE working on The Shining through hell, but completely tortured poor Shelley.
Problem was, The Shining ended up like a huge mess. Normal Kubrick oppression would contribute to a classic.
Load More Replies...Exactly How did she have a big downfall? She is a woman with mental illness.
Kubrik contributed to it a lot. Her time doing The Shining destroyed her

Britney Spears
Seriously. This list needs to be renamed or revamped. Hollywood stars who (tragically) fell from grace? (Tragically for some, by their own evil doing by others.)
Doesn't matter, it's a fall from grace, and tragic, given the reputations they began with
Load More Replies...She was for so many years on drugs used to control her that her mind's wiring is melted. Not sure there's help out there for her. Very sad thing for such a beautiful and talented woman.
More like Hollywood Stars Who Were Taken Down by Greed and Family Members except for a few of them who are just deplorable but most were used, abused and torn to shreds by other people and mental illness
"Saving her from herself"! Do you hear yourself? He caused the problems in the first place and then lived it up in a multimillionaire lifestyle while treating her as a cash cow. Is her life perfect - no. Does she need controlled by a man who sees nothing but dollar bills - absolutely not.

Charlie Chaplin. Greatest Actor of his time. The question of power is what you do when you have it. Chaplin choose to get political, to spread a message to the people. Those in power didn't like that. FBI got called in and he was forced into exile for being too political after being branded a communist at the height of the red scare. Hollywood let it happen and did nothing to defend him.
He received an honorary award at the Oscars in 1972, but it was to quiet Hollywood's guilt, instead of celebrate his art. All Entertainers exist to placate the masses. Bread and Circuses has been known since ancient Rome. If they go too far off script, the industry will disown them.
If you make it big, he's the example your managers and producers will put in front of you if you think about trying to do anything to change the status quo.
...but don't paint him as a martyr either - too much abuse of others on his part for that.
Especially considering his propensity for "young" women.
Load More Replies...Chaplin choose to follow around very young girls until they were of an acceptable age, marry them, get them pregnant, then leave them. There are so many stories of his disgusting behavior towards women it's insane.
While I admire Chaplin's work, he had a taste for underage girls. While at that time, 16 wasn't "too young" to some, it was to most, and was also just icky.
Sinéad O'Connor. The Catholic Church cult ruined her career.
WTH is a "Catholic Church cult?" I believe that she was protesting the on going sexual abuse in the church that was hidden by the church. Wasn't wrong, was she?
She did the right thing and people tried to demonise her for it. Beautiful woman. Fantastic singer. May she rest in piece
No, the church didn’t ruin her career. People who worshipped the Pope did. 😰
This list is confusing, Sinéad, or Shuhada' Sadaqat as she became known after she converted to Islam, didn't let anyone down. She did many amazing things, but she was a tortured soul, may she rest in peace.
Avicii had a classic Icarus story. He got too big, too fast. He basically worked himself to death because he was so scared of disappointing people, didn't know how to turn down gigs or drugs, and probably knew the end was coming. He was 28 when he died
Excuse me, I wouldn't call suicide "letting people down" or "a fall from grace". I'd call it heartbreaking and tragic.
most of this list is just dumb and doesn't even fit the theme
Load More Replies...A suicide is a terrible thing. Sometimes, there is no one to realize the warning signs. Sometimes there are no warning signs. I've known several people who've committed suicide. The last one was in the 90s and it still haunts me.
A friend of mine was a good friend of avicii. This was not a fall from grace but a spiral into a dark space that nobody anticipated. When you listen back, some of his tunes were cries for help hidden in dance music. Suicide is never a fall from grace.
"Wake me Up'. Love this song and it seems rather prophetic in hindsight. Rest easy, Avicii.
Load More Replies...I'm not sure if Avicii's story can be defined as 'classic Icarus'. After all, Icarus' problem was hubris, not exactly something you can be accused of if you work yourself to death.
His music was so good and then I looked him up and he'd been dead for 10 years ;-;
Aaron Carter. I remember the years leading up to his death his behavior was super erratic and was falling out of favor with the public. Then he got the weird face tattoo and it did him 0 favors as I think people used it as “proof” that he was “unwell”. Feel bad for the kid, he didn’t deserve to die so young and especially not the way he did. No one does.
This comment is hidden. Click here to view.
Load More Replies...I don't think that's Aaron Carter, but the real Aaron Carter was preyed upon by Michael Jackson and I'm sure others. Definitely had to mess him up and drugs and alcohol and money did him no favors. But he wasn't evil, just damaged.
He was financially abused by his parents as a child star, and may have been sexually abused by a sibling. He actually was unwell - he had several mental health conditions and was addicted to drugs, which he was getting treatment for. The tumult was with his family relationships, he went back to drugs during all of that. Died of accidental drowning.

Anne Heche. Mental health crashing. Ran into a house in her car, left there, ran into another house, burned it down, died because the fire was so fierce, they couldn’t get her out.
This is not a fall from grace. This is mental health. Don't confuse the two. On einvolves crime (see: Cosby, Spacey, LeBeouf) and one does not.
Don't act like Shia doesn't have mental health problems

Brendan Fraser (better now)
Indeed. He was sexually assaulted by Phillip Berk, had to get multiple surgeries after accidents on set and then got exploited to the point of financial ruin by his ex wife. That's not a "fall from grace". That's the world treating him like dirt.
Load More Replies...Brendan Fraser should be the poster child for recovery. It wasn't his fault. He did nothing wrong. And he SUFFERED. But now, we applaud him and love him and make him a poster child!
He didn't fall fom grace. He was badfly hurt physically and emotionally, and survived a sexual assault. So, no, he didn't fall. He was shunned. BIG diff.
This is a strange list with both perpetrators and victims on it. How do victims of abuse and exploitations let anyone down exactly?
Yes, this list is just super upsetting to me. I can only assume a lot of contributors really didn't understand the question.
Load More Replies...Someone here on BP seriously needs to read up on the meaning of the term "falling from grace".
This must be an AI generated post. No human would confuse fall from grace and mental illness.
This list is quite confused. Can we break it down into 1) Cosby types that we all loved then they did something horrible, 2) innocent victims of fame/culture that were unfairly treated or suffered mental health issues, and 3) sad stories about celebrities doing it to themselves with addiction/drugs/alcohol.
Please do not confuse or conflate sexual predators like Cosby, Spacey, et al., with people who had mental breakdowns (Heche, Garland et aL) or died of OD (PSHoffman, Winehouse). The latter two are tragic examples of pressure, fame, and mental illness colliding in an early/sad/awful end to their lives. Cosby and Spacey belong in prison. BIG difference between "sexual predator" and "drug addict".
