Why is it sinister to help patients with dementia, strokes, neurological disorders to fight a severely apathetic state which has no treatment? This was great and way behond my expectations. A patient who had a stroke and a "dead arm" since even used her "dead" arm during a session to play with the cat, the hospital staff and the family was amazed. Bimanual coordination was never seen since the stroke years ago, even in physical therapy. The cat beat it! Without any constraint to the patient. photo-1-60...8e6ad3.jpg

Piepie is going on her fifth month "bonus time" in early November last year she almost died from a sudden onset of IMHA ( an often fatal autoimmune anemia). Three days in canine ICU, two transfusions and countless hours of anguish, she is now maintaining her red blood cell level with the help of regularly ( every two weeks) vet checks and daily medication. She is definitely less energetic than normal, but happy and thriving with this chronic disease. Every day is an absolute gift!
