Who doesn’t like presents? I don’t think you could find a single person in the world who doesn’t appreciate receiving a nice and thoughtful gift. What’s interesting is that giving presents can be as exciting as getting them. The difficult part, however, is choosing a gift that will make the recipient truly happy.
If you are looking for gifts for an artist friend that are connected to what they do, your first stop would logically be in an art supplies shop. Any artist will be delighted to receive cool art supplies. If you have no idea what they need or how to select the appropriate brushes, palettes, and other things you see for the first time in life, shop assistants will always be happy to come to your rescue.
However, if you are still unsure about this option, fear not, you still have tons of other choices. Art gifts don’t necessarily have to be about work and tools. Think of what your friend likes the most. For example, if they like original jewelry, a necklace in the form of a palette or brush earrings are perfect gifts for painters. And of course, there always are coffee mugs of interesting shapes, plants in pots decorated with their favorite paintings, and many more creative gifts.

I think art supplies are like books. I like choosing my own. I really hate it when someone gives me a book because they liked it and I'm a professional reader. I prefer to choose my own. Like someone else said, I wouldn't like the jewelry or the linens. But I did like certain things and found some useful ones too. But I'd still prefer to get my own. My craft room has a certain theme to it and I like to coordinate my stuff. My craft room before I renovated it. Craft-room...a2a10b.jpg

I'm super picky about the brands of supplies I use because of years of experimenting and finding what works for me. I never expect anyone to know what I prefer so I just prefer people not buy me art supplies.

lists like this are the reason why non artists buy a bunch of shitty useless art products for the artistic one in the family... I'm literally a digital artist yet every year I'm gifted off-brand colored pencils that come in a little art kit just because it's something quick and easy to buy and artists use pencils right??? it's honestly a bit offensive. if you're considering buying something for an artist, ask what kind of supplies they need and what brands they like. and absolutely never buy artist's loft
