Details from the comments: In 2021, my dad passed away after a long bout of cardiovascular issues and an infection that caused his aortic aneurism to rupture. My dad loved fishing in the Florida panhandle with my uncle and was a supporter of the artificial reef association, which creates artificial habitats for sea life. So, we made the decision to have him interred in a reef so that he could be part of the ocean he loved so much. His reef was placed last year, and we were told that the artificial reef authority would be regularly monitoring it so we could check the progress of the habitat. 13 months later, we still hadn’t heard anything so my brother asked when it would be surveyed as we were curious about how things were developing. On Saturday, we finally got an answer: the reef association had found the reef had tipped over as it was being placed, and even worse, the side in the sand is the side with our dad’s marker and urn embedded.
