100% correct. Too much "I'll sleep when I'm dead" mentality being taught by the self-proclaimed "success" gurus. Guess what. They're the ones getting richer on our money, and we're the ones suffering massive diabetes, heart failure, mental health issues, you name - all of which is linked to lack of sleep, overwork, stress, and financial stress. We'd be a lot healthier, happier and financially better off if we stopped listening to the rich scam artists and giving them all our money. Decades and decades of outcomes speak for themselves.

Im Late 50's. My work is toxic emotionally and hazardous physically. Work with people in mid 60's to 70 who refuse to retire, have retirements in excess of $7k/month. They complain about our employer and do very little work. I ask them wth don't u retire then? They have no answer. I plan to retire somewhere cheap overseas in 6 months making less than $2k/month and couple hundred thousand cash and the financial advisor I talked to yesterday made me feel like an idiot; that I was poor, should keep working and that I didn't make enough for them to bother with. My friend retired same age a few years ago and told me, if u don't need to wait for SSI, take your early retirement and enjoy life. You will appreciate those years between 57 and 62 more than you will the money. I hate my job, am too old to get hired elsewhere and don't want to end up like these older guys here, but im being guilted into thinking im stupid for leaving money on the table.

During covid daughter worked 60+ hours a week. She is definitely burned out. She got another job where they hired more PSW's so the work load was not so demanding. Now she will have a family life and get proper sleep.

Sounds good in theory...but when you cancel a celebrity, it doesn't really affect your life. When you cancel a job, you don't make money, and if you don't make money, you can't buy tacos 🌮🌮🌮 and if you can't buy tacos, then you might as well just give up.

I'm in H.R. and I never receive or would read cover letters. With all of the other means of checking a candidate's background and references, it is not important to accompany a resume with a cover letter. I don't have the time to read them; although I must state that reading a cover letter might be a good process of elimination if the writer cannot properly express her/himself. I've read some absolutely wretched resumes (not for history but for content.) Can't imagine how wretched cover letters might be.
