The idea of getting yourself inked is something that most of us experience at some point of our lives. It often first comes up as a eureka moment in your teenage years, then reoccurs after a night at the student union bar in the first years of college, and later, either turns into a full passion, a momentary flick, or a tattoo that you wouldn’t necessarily call the most genius one.
If you have the latter scenario, this new TikTok trend is for you. After med student Hanna, who goes by the handle @hannanicbic, shared a story of getting herself “the dumbest tattoo,” the clip was destined to go viral. Amassing 804k views and counting, it got more TikTokers sharing their “dumbest” ink tales and it’s kinda relatable, somewhat soothing, and painfully funny at the same time.

This is not referring the Covid masks. She is referring to not wearing a mask, as in a disguise, just to meet people's expectations. As it says in the caption, it means being true to yourself. It is just unfortunate that it did not age well.
@ Aunt Messy- A tattoo there sounds incredibly painful. Strange place for you to be looking tbh.
Load More Replies...Just add an asterisk and then the "small print" as in medical disclaimers: wear (a) during pandemics, (b) selected sports (kendo, fencing, diving, others), (c) selected professions and hobbies (beekeeping, bankrobbing, welding, high-altitude flying, others), (d) BDSM, (e) dress-up (carnival in venice, or poor fashion choices). Other exceptions may apply.
Load More Replies...Oh man I came in here all ready to start raging about how stupid arrogant people actually think it's somehow heroic to refuse to wear a mask during a goddamn pandemic, etc. Poor girl!
And don't forget, at first, they told us masks wouldn't help. Not for long, but for a bit.
sucks how you got it right before covid, it forever holds a new meaning.
March 4 was when we knew the pandemic was coming but before everything was shut down (in the US). Masks were not common at this point, nor were anti-maskers. (Where I live, the announcement was made around March 14 and schools closed a day or two after)
I hope she doesn’t get Covid. She would have to do some editing 😎of the tattoo
If you’re getting a tattoo, you can never be 100% sure it will age well and the initial meaning will stay the same. Well, Leah Holland, 25, of Georgetown, Kentucky has experienced it firsthand.
On March 4, 2020, she got her tattoo which reads “courageously & radically refuse to wear a mask.” In fact, Leah had wanted to get this particular tattoo for two years before she finally did it. But two days later, Kentucky announced its first case of coronavirus and the rest is the pandemic history which keeps on rolling.
Bored Panda reached out to Leah, who was happy to share the backstory of her tattoo, which has gone viral since the TikTok tattoo challenge. The media dubbed Leah its “winner” for obvious reasons.
Yes, belongs more in the 'humblebrag' topic than here.

They could put a toe tag on that says "Hi, my name is Jane Doe 5374."
Load More Replies...Call me pessimistic but that looks more like it's been drawn on with a biro pen. Correct me if i'm wrong but wouldn't a tattoo also fill the gaps in her "toe print." Looks to me like there's lots of fine lines that have been missed as though the fat ballpoint end of a biro pen didn't go down into those fine grooves in her skin where a tattoo needle would. Looks a little smudged too.
That's what I thought when I saw it as well. Either way it's cute though.
Load More Replies...Leah told us that it all started when “a few years ago, my friend and I were talking about things we admire about each other. He told me he admired how 'real' I am and how I’m not afraid to be completely myself. He said I 'courageously and radically refuse to wear a mask.’”
The Kentucky woman assured us that the quote really meant a lot to her. “I wanted to get a tattoo with those words years before I got it. On March 4, 2020, I did it!”
I wanna be where the people are, I wanna se, wanna see 'em dancing, walking around on those, what do you call 'em?
Now he's dolphin man, half dolphin half man, hear him scream at night, help, 'cause he just wants a friend he'll be quite a fright, jesus christ, if you run into him in the dark abandoned house where he lives
But as you can imagine, Leah could have never guessed how badly it was about to age. “Unfortunately, I had no idea how drastically the term 'wearing a mask' would change," she commented.
When asked whether she regretted the tattoo, Leah said that she was “very self conscious of it, especially last summer.” In fact, it even made her wear sleeves or cardigans as she felt the need “to cover it up constantly.”
When they move their hand it looks like the person is jumping on a trampoline.

Agreed. I'm amazed he's still popular- he's exploited and mishandled so many vulnerable people
Load More Replies...On the other hand, Leah doesn’t necessarily regret it. “Mine was just a timing issue. I'm still glad I got it because that quote means a lot to me. Considering Covid, it's fun to laugh about, too.”
She also added that the whole experience of her pandemic-era tattoo going viral was “a real fun experience.” “It honestly brightens my day to see other people laugh about it, because I’m doing the same,” Leah concluded.

A friend of mine agreed to be a "practice canvas" for her (then) boyfriend, a budding tattoo artist. She wanted a rosebud on her lower back. She got an artichoke.
How would you opt for something free when it is about somethign that is for life?

You can easily get that touched up to look like a paw instead of a penis.
I'm confused. Why is the nipple so close to and in line with the bellybutton?
That looks like third nipple and not the belly button.

my brother got this one, except he got it tattooed on 3 times because it kept peeling off. he gave up but there's still bits of it left on his finger
Lol. I thought homer had a growth on his neck. Took me a moment to realize it was a heart.
This is a hormone monster, from"Big Mouth". His whole existence is "teaching" teenage boys about seand the like. Hilarious dude but wouldn't want him as a tattoo

Yeah that post makes no sense, he had a dream, okay. Then big leap in time now suddenly a tattoo?

I have no sympathy for people who get their partners name tattooed on them and they end up breaking up. Don't do it. The only time I would ever get my partner's name tattooed on me is if he died.
So many of these are just downright horrible in design, look, etc but this one takes the cake for not just putting someone you're dating permanently on your body but in your damned mouth.
And that’s why, boys and girls, we never get other people’s name tattooed on ourself.
first: don't get your partner's name tattooed on you anyway. second: on your lip?? honestly?
Dont ever put someone’s name on your body unless it’s your child or a memorial of someone
I have my daughters' names on a ribbon with a winged heart:)!

One of my hubby's old work mates decided to get my hubby's name tattooed on his foot. They didn't even like each other at the time.
I wouldn’t get it tattooed, but it’s well done as far as detail is concerned
Is that meant to be a shark eating a duck or a duck in a shark costume. Either way it is awful.
Shark head on a duck head on a ? head. I see three heads and cannot unsee it.
This is awful. This required Bootleg Di Ravello. BurnIt4-60...f8-png.jpg

If you can only avoid the actual phenomenon, I'd say the tattoo is amusing.
When I first looked I thought it was some weird frog or something but I now see it's the playboy bunny.
I was wondering if it’s somebody he knows, dad for example, made into a Simpsons character.

Many of them can be easily covered up these days. My guess is that they laugh at dumb past decisions (and we all have made some, let´s be honest), and maybe want to warn others not to stray down the same path. It also gives people a sense of belonging and not being alone.

I can’t do tattoos. I’ve always wanted one but I can’t do it because I get bored too easily of things. I would regret it within a year of having it. I love changing up stuff so yea, no, not for me lol 😂
I have the Deathly Hallows (got it done 3 years ago on my birthday), and instead of a symmetric style the "artist" decided to make it look like sticks. So now I have an tepee instead of a symbol of mum surviving death twice. It is well done, sure, but I never went to that guy again.
