30 Times Restaurants Left Hilarious Replies Under Bad Reviews, Shared By This Instagram Page (New Pics)
For your local takeaway, one bad review can break them in the competitive eatery game. And with so many people now voicing their thoughts out loud online, both good and not-so, it’s only fair that the amount of reviews is rising faster than ever.
And while some customers genuinely express their dissatisfaction by writing bad reviews, others use it for entirely different purposes. Like, being asked to show their vaccination pass. No wonder owners are getting more creative in their ways of handling such bad reviews. And their clapback responses are on a whole new level!
So thanks to the Instagram page “Takeaway Trauma” that’s dedicated entirely to such cases, below waits a solid collection of bad reviews and the badass responses to them. Upvote your faves and be sure to check out part 1 of this post!

😂Yes and no! If I had a better appetite I would be doing hot wing contests everywhere! But covid also made me intermittently hate meat.
Load More Replies...I had Covid in December and still don't have all my taste and smell back. Red meat still tastes off, sometimes gross if I can smell it. We went to The Outback in June because I was craving steak for the first time but want ready to make one myself. I took 1 bite and couldn't finish that! They were so apologetic and took it off our bill even though I told them they didn't have to because it was my LongCovid. The good news is I could taste their Ahi appetizer and it was as delicious as it was the week before they shut down in Spring 2020. I didn't eat out much pre covid. We do a lot of takeout. I keep my wonky taste buds and nose in mind when eating. Right now I can't taste hot wings. Like the hottest on the menu. If I'm lucky I can taste vinegar😂
Wow, that sucks. I hope you continue to regain your sense of taste & smell, same thing happened to my brother last October & his has improved a lot. Good luck!
Load More Replies...What a nice guy. Trying to manipulate someone into him dating him. Who wouldn't want to date him?
If their response is true. Because they don't always tell the truth.
Load More Replies...A sleazebag who also needs lessons in how and when to use punctuation. I wonder if he went to the same school as Suad at no. 1?
Sometimes these people do not realize this is someone’s livihood, so so petty
Long and short of it.."You called us up minutes before closing, left a bad number and address, made the driver go through hell to get the food to you and you still have audacity to complain? You're lucky you're still breathing, Lady!"
Me, too Anna Snorrepot,Waaay too loud and waay too long.
Load More Replies...Wow I guess you guys do not have delivery radius, as here it’s like barely 2 miles
The small town I live in in North Sweden has several takeaway restaurants but no deliveries at all. Not even grocery deliveries so I was out of luck when I got released from hospital a few years ago. Was housebound for almost a week and no way to get groceries or food. Really sucks.
Load More Replies...This owner has murder on the mind. They already asked “r u killing me” in the very beginning. Which seems odd because I’m sure they would know if they were being killed and if so wouldn’t be able to complete the response. 🤷♂️
We reached out to the creator of Takeaway Trauma to find out more about how the page has evolved since we last featured it on Bored Panda six months ago. “Since we last spoke, the page was actually featured on national television, which was pretty cool. It was shown on The Jonathan Ross Show on BBC,” they told us and added: “I didn’t even realize they were airing it, they just did, and then someone just messaged the account telling me they saw it!”
Still don't understand why people would leave such lies as a rating, small businesses have been impacted enough with virus madness! I am coming to the point of really hating the rating, likes, unlikes buttons more and more.
That is one reason that I try my best to take a few moments to give big praise reviews to businesses that know how to do things right. Hoping along the way that my 5 stars will in some way, cull the harm done by the 1 stars.
Load More Replies...I never have and never will read a review for an eatery, just because someone else didn't like something it doesn't mean I won't. The only opinion that matters is my own, and if I don't like it I don't slate the place, I just don't go back.
If you’re in a city for a short time when travelling, the star rating helps as reflects opinions of many people. Life’s too short to eat at bad places.
Load More Replies...Your milkshake will NOT bring any boys to the yard.
Load More Replies...Unfortunately places gotta get used to shiitty reviews from people with nothing better to do. This is a very tame and forgettable review though and the owner gave it much more attention than it deserved. Since reviews aren’t going away you weed out those and just look to see if there are any patterns. Consistently seeing a certain server is rude, food consistently taking too long, etc. But anyone with any maturity and manners will take complaints to the management to give them the opportunity to correct if it is legitimate. One thing as an owner you never do is engage like this. It’s a dangerous road to go down. This was easy to brush off.
Even without the reply, a review like that is helpful to me because it shows me that a reastaurant is not putting up with asshole behaviour. (Noone tackels someone to the ground because she wants more chips. )
I mean, without the reply, I knew immediately that the reviewer was lying and was refused service for being drunk and disruptive.
Right? As if being tackled for ordering more food is a normal thing.
Load More Replies...So very sad that people just can't be honest for the sake of being honest. Instead, it takes CCTV to force what should be natural.
Nah he sounds enthousiastic. I'm alright with my neighbours enjoying life loudly every now and then. Just let them be happy.
Load More Replies...Sounds like a description of those fake TikTok’s with the new s**t rap song
Moreover, in terms of growth, “I’ve definitely seen a big increase in audience, especially since the TV show. People seem to be more and more involved in the humor, it’s almost like we have our own little community, which is exciting.” The creator said that they've also started posting a lot more photographs of bad takeaways, “which people seem to find pretty entertaining but gross at the same time!”
Influenza abuses the internet because she didn't get free stuff. They should send her a Golden Raspberry Award instead of a Bafta.
Does anyone else find that the lack grammar and spelling skills seem to almost speak louder than the poor reviews themselves?
Just because someone who's clearly not a native English speaker does not write grammatically correct English does not mean "not intelligent"
Load More Replies...Shannon also went to the same school as Suad at no. 1 and Ethan at no. 2.
that's not ok from the restaurant. maybe the duck is garbage and STILL got 3/6 stars
Claiming to be a NHS-doctor and feeling entitled to extras doesn't make Deeya look good.
The surgeons I work for and the others I know personally would never even consider using their positions to receive free anything. In fact, they are the ones willing to pay the exorbitant 3rd party delivery fees in addition to "Order whatever you want on the menu." when supporting local small businesses and treating their overworked employees to an occasional meal.
When asked whether business owners are getting more savage and creative with their responses to bad reviews, the creator behind Takeaway Trauma said that this is definitely the case. “I do see some really savage replies by business owners, some are so rude that I can’t actually post them as it’s pretty offensive—that’s how bad it's got!”
Moreover, there has been a definite surge in reviews where pizzas have been messed up in delivery. “It seems that the Neapolitan-style pizzas with the thin base seem to always fold over, or toppings fall off. It’s quite funny but at the same quite frustrating for the customer!”
Perhaps he is psychic... Oh no!! Now Chad knows that I have found out his secret!
Especially when they are upwards of $11 US (~ 16 pounds) around here.
Load More Replies...Mae missed grammar lessons. Wings 'was' dry? Chips 'wasn't'? Bloody hell.
“Funnily enough, one thing I have learnt is that most people only really write reviews if it’s really bad or really good—rarely in between,” the author of Takeaway Trauma told us. “I think sometimes people are so annoyed and angry that in the heat of the moment after just receiving their ‘bad food,’ they go on to the internet and type everything they are thinking about right there and then,” they concluded.
Here's a hint: if you can not write even basic English, don't display your ignorance this way. It's not a good look.
The only cone Jade gets is the one that says "dunce" on the front, that she wears in time out. Only comes in one flavor though. Sorry not sorry.
No but they not also heard puntuakion nearly too but is not ok to put in bin withoot tast and wash them hands too !
Load More Replies...Again, the complainants grammar... At least the respondent was able to use it to their advantage.
Ummm, going out on a limb here, but I didn't know that chicken was racist. Please set me right, thx.
Load More Replies...20 years ago, the ratio was usually 4 chicken breast halves per half kilo package. Today, each chicken breast half weighs a half kilo.
When asked about the future of Takeaway Trauma, the creator said that they have been toying with the idea of creating some merchandise and added that “it has to be done right.” They assured me they have so many ideas they’d like to do with the page, but for now they've decided to keep it on the down low until it’s 100% finalized. “For now I’m going to keep on curating content and posting funny reviews!”
from today onward I will be saying "what can I say, enjoy the rest of your life" quite a bit.
Idk, if I went somewhere and the main was really bad, I’d not necessarily want to try something else they prepared.
I wouldn't appreciate the honesty if these people are working while preparing food! Unless he didn't mean that
Load More Replies...Wow, not a Marketing major I see! Maybe the customer meant in terms of low contact, packaging, etc. Hard enough for restaurants nowadays, maybe not shoot yourself in your own foot.
Correct. However they meant it and however someone reads it no restaurant would respond to a positive review praising Covid safe with saying 3 people have Covid. I’m calling BS on this post.
Load More Replies...It was two months later that he responded. The owner was probably at home feeling upset that his restaurant was forced to close.

Load More Replies...They should have bought their fowl at this farm's sister business: a739ce8f9c...f7673e.jpg
I mean I worked in the industry and just bc there were no bones doesn't mean there wasn't some foreign object in the meal that the customer did break a tooth on. Pretty gutsy to insult someone on breaking a tooth when foreign objects get into take away food all the time.
They are getting more food. Cheaper. And then COMPLAINING ABOUT IT!!! The f**k is wrong with people.
"The driver didn't seem happy." Dude. They're delivering food to people like you. What do you expect?
I never expect my driver to be happy. I still ask for contactless drop off.
Sounds like they tried to call Georgia for over an hour and she didn't respond. I'm not surprised the driver was irritated - I can only imagine his frustration. Sounds like she didn't even offer a 'sorry my phone was dead/on silent/etc and put the blame squarely on the driver. Hmm.
If a customer doesn't pick up the phone, their food goes in the ditch, I mark it delivered, and I drive on. Dumbfluck.
All these people who are getting roused on for “ordering just before closing” - I don’t get it! Either you are open and taking orders or you aren’t. Tell customers what you are capable of providing and provide it then don’t b***h about it later. Especially when people are ordering from a third party delivery service - the customers will be given no info at all about about closing times.
So how is it the customer's responsibility to check on which time they close? Take the order or not, but don't complain about the time.
Yes it's very common for a woman not to feel safe when a man is shouting! First time you hear that? I'm not taking sides just replying to that comment that finds it strange for a woman to feel fear in today's society
Load More Replies...I just had a good idea, restaurants can leave reviews for how well the customer behaved, Upvote if you believ this should be a thing and reply with Karma
It's the respons that count. The reviewer didn't leave a comment. Even if the review was correct the respons is funny.
The perfect response would be an empty response box. :P
Load More Replies...Maybe he was waiting for him to leave the order and go. Contactless delivery.
WilvanderHeijden, one star is a bad review, no words needed.
Load More Replies...If you want salad, order salad. If you want warm meat, don't ask for loads of salad on it. Chapter 1 out of the " How to become a successful influenza without making a fool out of yourself."
I just got it now. I am going to use this henceforth. Influenza. Well done.
Load More Replies...Along with common sense, good behaviour and manners it seems.
Load More Replies...What kind of policy is that though? They don't bring food to your door?
@Vicky Z if you live for example in an apartment building with 4-5 floors and more than 200 flats, I don't think you'll want to loose your time by searching their exact door to deliver the food. Just come down to pick it up.
Load More Replies...he said overcooked but it is possible to undercook fish. the thing is u have to b really bad at cooking in general to undercook a fish. i had a friend who was very bad at cooking somehow managed to only cook half the salmon while it was 1 whole piece dont ask me how she did it im still wondering myself and this was 10 years ago.
Load More Replies...It's a thing, the food I cook is better than a lot of take out, but I hate to cook. Lasagna is the worst experience I've had so far. I don't order take out lasagna anymore. I don't leave reviews either. Also, fries will never arrive hot. Ever.
I'm assuming that this person ordered a full English breakfast? I might be wrong but I personally wouldn't order eggs to be delivered... those guys need to be hot or they're inedible. Do people regularly order breakfast to be delivered?
i've never understood this Unless the driver is activly rude to you, why do you care if they are smily and bubbly? Just take the food, say thanks, and close the door.
Are you bringing me food? Did you actively try and murder me? As long as the first answer is yes and the second no I'm happy with that. If you're bringing coffee I can probably give you a pass on the second question as long as you don't succeed.
Load More Replies...im always nice to the drivers i smile tip them show appreciation to them and their hard work. i always smile too and ive noticed that on their way to the door they look miserable on their way back to the car i can see a smile forming. some even stay and talk for a bit and omg ive heard some horror stories from these drivers. i left a very kind review once and the reply i got from the owner was a thank you and that i made their delivery guy feel much better for the rest of the day. also that the driver wanted me to kno that im very kind and thanks me for letting him vent a bit before going back to work. all u gotta do is b nice and not act like the world is all about u and only u.
Two and a half hours is a very long wait. I appreciate roadworks are a problem but it’s best to keep in touch with the customer so that they know what’s going on.
I agree that there are things beyond the restaurant's control but it's good policy to let the customer know what's going on and try to find another route to get food to them as hot as possible. Roadwork is beyond the customer's control too.
Load More Replies...This is the only one I've sided with the customer (if the 2.5 hour delay is true, of course.)
The delivery app I use tells you what to expect in the way of delivery time, and I won't order if it's more than 30 minutes.
usually wen food is late i say thank you and ask if there was traffic usually they say yes or they r having a busy night. if they say busy night i say thank u again and tell them not to over work themselves
I kinda almost wonder if they (customer) posted that on a cobblers page instead of a restaurant, in which the response would be very funny and appropriate.
Load More Replies...The restaurants reply just enhances the complaint by being rude and unnecessary. I wouldn't eat here because of it.
Don't know who is right but i would never step a foot in this restaurant based on this answer!! I mean wtf?
From the insane CAPS response to the reviewer for actually leaving an honest review, the owner sounds like quite the twat themselves.
Load More Replies...I would patronize this establishment simply for the balls-to-the-wall insanity of their reply in CAPS. I love me a crazed piemaker.
I think the owner is channeling their inner Mrs.Lovett from Sweeney Todd.
Load More Replies...Better Reply: McDonalds is the premier supplier of 2-hour-in-the-warmer twat ready food
wait... they don't even make their own pies they just buy and cook frozen pukka pies? Excuse you, chip shop owner, but that is not "fresh food to order"
no the owner said they were done to order meaning they make them fresh nothing is frozen.
Load More Replies...The actual quote is "the customer is always right in matters of taste."
Load More Replies...This one could go either way; It may be a crybaby/fake review, but the response is rude.
Damn, I'm assuming the twat that complained is a native English speaker and has been schooled properly, in which case we, in the 'western' and supposedly 'civilised ' World are in serious trouble. Bad grammar, awful spelling and worse punctuation. I'm going to make another assumption that the reply is from someone who's first language is not English. I salute you Sir / Madam.
Reviewer put spaces where there were none needed and then neglected to put a space after full stops. LMAO
Whenever a customer appears to be asleep during the delivery window I sense alcohol...
As a person who lived around Teesside for most my childhood, I know what a parmo is, and therefore, tasha is an idiot because what did she expect from a parmo pizza? obviously there was going to be bechemal sauce and tomato...
Lol Was just about to ask what becamel sauce was. Thought maybe it was an English ingredient I wasn’t aware of. SMH
Load More Replies...when anyone complains about ice cream, you know the problem is them.
i met a girl once who said the ice cream was too cold. she was a ditz and no she was not high or drunk completely sober. me and my friends just stared at her wondering if she was joking. it wasnt until she said "idk how u guys can eat this its way too cold. wheres ur microwave?" thats wen we realized she was joking she was 100% serious. it was carvel soft serve in a waffle cone my friend never invited her over again after the mess she left in the microwave.
Load More Replies...Is it just me, or did he order the food at the same time as the review?
Some of the review websites let you put in when you ordered, versus when you wrote the review.
Load More Replies...It's the respons that count. The reviewer didn't leave a comment. Even if the review was correct the respons is funny.
Load More Replies..."Not impressed" is either a troll or a competitor. Still, Cliff-dude shot himself in the foot with that freak-out response. Keep it professional!
someome lied about his place and called his wife rude im pretty sure thats overstepping even for a troll or competitor. i dont blame him. he couldve been much worse too he couldve called them names, went on a rampage or even just flat out curse fest. he didnt he just said that they were saying stupid little lies and that its wrong to call someone rude that clearly wasnt.
Load More Replies...I just LOVE people freaking out in all CAPS. It's funny enough to me that I go eat there just to see the easily annoyed owners tripping balls.
Drunk moron drunk drives his kid to a restaurant and sleeps through the experience of snarfing a whole plate of good food.
Aside from the review, GARLIC IS TOXIC TO DOGS don't try to feed your dog garlic bread
Ok. Now I’ve got to ask. I read the word donner in regards to meat a few times in this post. First time I thought it was a misspelled word. But having seen it twice more I’m think maybe it’s a type of meat. Can anyone enlighten me? Thanks
response is unkind. The review should have given more stars for what they write.
Yes would love all the details on the violated human rights
Load More Replies...the sole star is the rating, the comment is from the store about the customer.
This isn't written in such a manner as to determine where the conflict lay.
Took him 2 years to think of a comeback xD - But it was an amazing one in my opinion
Rude reply. Nothing about this review strikes me as petty or false. Personally, I'd take this as a red flag to not use this business.
Definitely not a nice or caring person who shouldn’t own a business where he has to work with the public.
Surprisingly, insulting your clients is not the best marketing strategy.
Do people suddenly lose all capacity to spell and punctuate when writing reviews?
Often people are angry and reactive. Sometimes when you are feeling highly emotional, even if over something 'small,' it can make your senses and writing ability lapse. It does NOT mean the reviewers are unable to spell or punctuate. It can often mean they were so frustrated or angry that correct spelling was beyond them at that time. ALSO... English is not every persons first language. So get off your bloody high horse. I can guarantee, with 100 percent surety, that you made sure your comment was correctly spelt before you posted it... just to make sure you didn't misspell a word or accidentally misplace a letter. Don't be a pretentious arsehole.
Load More Replies...A lot of these replies to customers are worse than than review itself. I would never patronize a place that attacks a review. It's childish and bad for business, not to mention ego driven.
some of these people are leaving their opinions on the food-i don't understand why they need to be insulted.
My 20-something kid worked as night manager for a Taco Bell in Texas and says the absolute worst part of the job was low-life people trying to scam them out of free food.
Please! Some of these complaints are petty and nasty... BUT it seems to me that we cannot tell if they are true complaints or not. If the service and food were crap then they have every right to complain. A lot of these restaurant responses seem just bitchy and reactive to legitimate concerns. I think a lot of these restaurants responded poorly. What if the food or service was awful?! And knowing how they responded I would NOT attend their premises. There is a difference between replying to an idiot review and a legitimate complaint... however poorly worded. I normally love this kind of thread but this one seems off.
