There is a lawyer in NYC, Lavi Greenspan, who lost hisi eyesight to a brain tumor while in his first year od lawschool. Finished lawschool by having others read him the books and he memorized it, while still in the hospital. Took his BAR by oral exam, etc. Later on also got a Masters in Social Work. Successful attorney with a social work degree and fully blind. He also has a career as a motivational speaker going to schools across America to teach students that you dont let anything stop you from your dream

I started doing this on walks with the dog. I have a bags with me anyways, so I can pick up trash. The only thing that sucks is that there are no trash cans around to dispose it, so I have to carry it around for like an hour 😒

I guess depends where you are. Although there’s uniformity across Europe (can’t speak for other continents/ countries) ,it is still illegal to litter. In most countries it is a minor offence, in a few countries it is a crime I appreciate that the enforcement could be better as many citizens do not perceive that there is a penalty for littering, and they certainly do not think of it as a crime

1. I needed to replace battery in my galaxy tablet: battery from eBay and watched tear-down on youtube. Done. 2. laptop had what I suspected to be loose display-motherboard connector. watched tear-down video on youtube. Fixed in 30 minutes. 3. Camera has shutter problem after my attempt to clear a fine hair on the sensor (my fault, finger slipped and shutter closed on brush). I have ordered the shutter assembly on eBay and have got the tear-down video from youtube. Being an ex-electronics tech helps but now just about anyone can learn these skills thanks to what is available online.

Anyways, one of my friends subscribed to his channel before this video in particular came out in 2012 (I think). He said "MummyTripper056, that's how you say it right? One of my proudest accomplishments is that my five year old asks me for help in beating hard video game challenges, and not her dad. She knows who the better gamer is and doesn't let her daddy forget 😜 It's all in good fun, but it does feel special to share it with her. My grandma was this person for me and she was amazing.

My stepchildren did this when they were younger-they topped and tailed like we were sardines in a tin. The littlest between me and hubby at the top, the two older ones at the bottom. It started out as thunderstorm protection, and then became a tradition for breakfast in bed for birthdays, Christmas, mother's and fathers day. Absolutely no chance of us all fitting these days, but it was very sweet and cosy-I love them to bits, but I do miss their toddler years

Truth. I got hired by an accounting firm who only wanted recent graduates so we didn't have bad habits ingrained yet. Unfortunately they closed with covid, bosses were in their late 60s by then. A bill will soon pass making it illegal (jail and 10k fine) for any person to use any public bathroom that's for the gender they look like and identify as. If you're trans man born a biological female, it will be against the law to use any men's room anywhere. By law he'll have to use the women's bathroom. What did you think mom's and dad's, what do you think your daughter will say when she sees that MAN come into the bathroom with her? Husbands? Would you be ok if that MAN walked in behind your wife? If it were, all the men who have had their testicles removed for cancer, or yes, you can get cancer of the penis, and it has to be removed, are they no longer male? They would scream out that they are male. But they don’t have the entire genitalia make up for that, so….. Your sexual identity is in your brain. It’s who tells you who you are. Christine Jorgensen was the first to come out as trans in the late 50’s, early 60’s. She was interviewed by Pierre Burton, a famous🇨🇦 interviewer, about everything it means to be trans. My mom watched it out of a genuine desire to understand. As a child I was exposed to some pretty forward looking things. I was 8. She let me watch it with her. I understood. Watching that show at the age of 8. It made sense to me. What these a******s have about it, I don’t get. It makes me furious.

I took this ride the other day and was so grateful for the silence. Then at the end of the ride when I was explaining to the gentleman where to pull up to I realized he didn't speak any English at all lol. You can be damn sure he got 5 stars.

This photo reminds me......Queen Elizabeth stood on her own 2 feet just 2 days before she passed at the age of 96 to appoint the new Prime Minister. When that lady pledged her entire life to service for her country, she meant it! It was her last official act as monarch. A true Queen, in name and deed. How does it get more courageous than that? As well, she bucked her parents, insisting they allow her to train and work as a mechanic during WW2!

I love talking to my drivers! They are so interesting, especially the ones from other countries or territories. We had one in NYC narrate a lot of non-tourist but interesting sites along the route. The Yellow taxi the hotel valet flagged down was silent, barely acknowledged us and the inside was filthy. Same price too. Had an Uber give us Dum Dums! Root béer flavored!

When I built my first computer I put 128mb of ram in it, the guy who waited on me at the store carried it in both hands. He had a giant smile on his face and kept saying "128 megabytes, 128 megabytes". You can't play solitaire with that amount of ram now.

In the mid 80s it was kind of a big deal that my Amiga 1000 had 1 MB of RAM. Not God level stuff but it was more than the XTs that were more common and I got a lot of comments on it. My current computer is 3 years old and is decent but not top end. It has 32,000 X as much ram as my Amiga did.

Loved my Amiga computer. I had an A500+ running 8 mb of ram and a 40mb hdd. It had 1 mb chip, 1 mb fast in the trapdoor, 2 mb on a slimline expansion on the zorro bus and another 4 mb on a HD8+ expansion which sat on the slimline expansions zorro pass through slot. Back then all that seemed so extreme but it's an absolutaly miniscule amount these days. :D

I've always wondered if windows was designed to secretly run crypto mining and other distributed computing tasks in the background, been a long time but back when with 98se I used linux to delete lots of system dlls that had "server" in the description and it vastly improved gaming performance, was running a no net system back then. (careful about trying this removing some dlls will break it, removing others will improve it)

I can't see how. Windows was first released in 1985, long before there was even a usable internet. However, every Microsoft application I've ever used was ridiculously bloated and demanding of system resources (for no valid reason, usually). Today, everything hogs system resources because every company is tracking you. I have 8 GB of RAM and my computer struggles to run Chrome with more than one tab.

I’ve also discovered the calculator has a little icon that looks like a ruler (or rule if being grammatically correct!), that allows you to convert loads of things, cm to inches or even calculate a tip! Every day’s a school day.

I worked at one...yes! I couldn't take the heartache after 6 months of elderly people telling me their spouse was in a coma/passed and they didn't know why they were receiving bills for millions of dollars. I only answered questions about benefits...I could only tell them that plan wasn't active for some reason. The worst one I looked into and found out the employer had sold the company while person was in ICU and the new company didn't maintain benefits for the employees

Honestly the less sleep I get the more awake I am. Like I can go to bed at 3 then wake up at 8 and be like I'm ready to go fight someone! Then when I go to bed at 9 and sleep till 9am I am tired as all get out.

That's not how science works. One positive or one negative does not definitively prove or disprove a theory. The reason we use p values is it represent the probability we are wrong because pure chance or just missing things can give results that are wrong. We repeat and test hypothesis because that's how science works. The JWST is testing Einstein's theories 117 years later because although the evidence is strongly supports his theories, we've missed some big things. Newton's theory of gravity made it about 250 years before Einstein and all his friends shot huge holes in it. We still have huge holes in relativity where the really big and really small do not work the same way.That's a good thing because that means we can test new ideas and every day get closer to the Capital T "Truth".
