I have a large square ugly grey metal box at the end of my driveway. It contains the cable hook ups for the first 4 houses on my road. Every 4 the house has one. I called the cable company with an idea and they said as long as they can readily access the box 24/7, they didn't care what I did to it. So I turned it into a dice. Then my neighbors liked the idea so now there's dice, rubiks cube and a present!
I am an Ex EMT (worked in NJ) CPR is incredibly tiring, I once did it on a Patient in his garden on a really hot day with sweat rolling off me, unforgettable for many reasons.
Fact.. During my career as paramedic, I have zero support from the govt.. And many of us does not have a living wage
I know that feeling. I was an EMT for 15 years. Frequently Patients would deny having any Medical problems. I would then ask what the Medications were for and then they would often start telling me of a huge amount of serious ones, I would ask why they didn't tell me and many times was told 'I didn't want to focus on it'. If you call for an Ambulance it is a big help to the EMT's and Paramedics what you are taking and why.
Well you don't have to worry about the breathing bit anymore as it's been taken out of the CPR learning model
I have occasionally said "hell if *I* know" when a doctor asks me about familial medical history, since I'm adopted XD
Doctor: "See? That didn't hurt at all!" Patient: "What are you talking about, that hurt like héll!" Doctor: "I was talking about myself."
But not too much!! I just spent 6 days in the ICU because I drank too much water on a blazingly hot day. Hyponatremia can k**l you, and it takes a long time to recover.
Those are red blood cells, not platelets! I know I'm party-p00per, but I just had to... professional pride, and that stuff...
I can't decide which is worse. The pulse oxymeter on the nose, the cardiac leads on the face, or the oxygen masks over the ears
Can confirm. I eat an apple a day, and no doctor has ever had a crush on me.
It's because you're only exposed to the radiation occasionally, whereas they work there and are exposed to it frequently, so they have to be more careful.
Actually, this works be, "when you have no spine and you married a psychopath."
Oh man, so, I'm adopted and was raised in a Mexican-American family. One of the big Mexican foods that EVERY one of my relatives make (literally like 20lbs of it at a time) is carnitas. When I was a teenager, I had a pre-cancerous mole on my right shoulder (I'm white af and hadn't learned my lesson about avoiding the sun yet.) When the doctor removed it, I was awake, as he'd only used a local anesthetic. He then proceeded to cauterize some of the wound. It was at that moment that I discovered that cooking human flesh smells exactly like pork carnitas. While I wish I'd been clever enough at the time to make a joke ("Huh, smells tasty!") alas, I did not, and was instead kind of traumatized XD I haven't eaten pork carnitas since.
"Doctor, may I do my own anaesthesia?" "Sure, knock yourself out!"
The veins in my hands are like that, but bluer and more defined. Only once did they put the IV in the back of my hand. After the other veins they tried in my arm collapsed. They didn't try the other arm because the veins are very obviously worse there.
As an engineer, you can clear up that expression with Botox or CBD. I'd recommend the CBD
Like that joke: What do you call the person who came last in medical school? Doctor.
Apart from it being not absolutely advisable...burning paper notes after graduation is quite satisfying too.
STEMI ST (wave) Elevated Myocardial Infarction. A heart attack. But there are 2 main types of heart attack. Also NSTEMI. A NON ST (wave) Elevated Myocardial Infarction. STEMI is more serious as it a near, or total block of blood flow to the heart. Starving it of oxygen and causing significant cardiac muscle damage. It's a medical emergency. NSTEMI is less serious as blood flow is still reaching the heart. Causing less damage. :)
No, because it helps your immune system recall needed antibodies, and probably improves gut health.
*Microsoft's Bill Gates (l) and Berkshire Hathaway's Warren Buffet, both among the world's 10 richest, still need a bigger bat when playing Ariel Hsing, a member of the 2012 U.S. Olympic table tennis team.
I'm not sure how to, otherwise I would. Nice to see another Dr. Mike fan.
Load More Replies...I love doctors now after reading this! They DO have a sense of humour! I used to think they were all greasy slimeballs.
