I know what you mean. A lot of people lose their faith after a family tragedy. They can't see how any god would allow a terrible loss like that.

Stop telling lies to trick yourself and others

We're talking about points of view here and beliefs. Of course an atheist will see it one way and a theist will see it another way. No arguments will be won here making statements like this. It is pointless and none of these statements "prove" anything.

You can thank God (or god) that doctor has been patient enough to get her skills, or that she has born in society and economical system she can study. And that you are not so poor you can't get treatment, and so on. It's not wrong. (How ever, personally I'm agnostic.)

There are different points of view, but that doesn't mean they have equal validity. There's no evidence for a God, therefore, there's no reason to believe there is one.

Who says 100% of the patients who thank God don't also thank the doctor? Isn't it also rude to make that assumption? Also, if the patient dies, should we put all the blame on the doctor as well?

Master Markus, christians believe that it's not there place to know why god chooses to some peoole "home" early. They have the faith that god knows what is right and doesn't make mistakes. No, not at all. Christians believe that God is the one that brings the doctor to the patient. They believe that he is the one who guided the doctor through their training and lead the doctor along a path so they could make their own accomplishments. Christians believe that God gives the doctor strength to perform the surgery and do it correctly. In the end, it is the doctor who is accomplishing it, and God who is the guide and protector.

one problem with that, is that if you take it from 'god' and 'human' and make it, instead, 'reasonably intelligent human' and say, 'rather stupid hamster', and that human takes the hamster, places him a fairly large, walled off enclosure and explains somehow so he understands the rules; 'you can eat all these plants, except those two',... whose at fault here? the hamster that's like 'gee that must be tasty' or the human that should have been like 'gee... he's a hamster. of course he's going to eat the forbidden plants.' ? add to the fact that god is presumably omniscient, which means he *knew* it would happen, and everything that would happen after it, and *still* placed them there?
