Why do cats eat like they've got 2 secs to finish the bowl, only to puke in the middle of the carpet a minute later? And how do they decide that wreaking havoc on the house at 3 am is an excellent idea? Those cucumbers, what’s up with them?

It’s no secret that cats sometimes, or rather most often, do things that make no sense to humans. To help to decipher the internet-famous and genuinely odd feline behavior, Bored Panda reached out to Molly DeVoss, a certified feline training and behavior specialist who runs Cat Behavior Solutions agency.
Molly said that each cat’s motivation to act weird is a very individual thing. “Some cats do silly things to get our attention; we run and get our cameras, cooing and paying attention to them.” This attention that we shower our felines with is precisely what reinforces their seemingly odd behavior.
Meanwhile, “other cats are bored and are trying to find outlets for pent-up energy,” Molly said. Being both prey and predator animals, most cats’ instincts are still pretty powerful. As your house is their new jungle, you see the behavior that makes them jumpy, goofy, silly, yet absolutely adorable.
In fact, this precise feature that we don’t really know what to expect from them is what makes our felines perfect material for the internet. “Whatever the motivation for the strange behaviors, it’s always good to pay attention to your cat and tell it how much you appreciate the laugh,” Molly concluded.

My cat does the opposite. Runs like a maniac for the door when I come home, even if it's just been for a day. One time my grandparents had her for a couple of weeks when I was abroad. When I came to pick her up she LITTERALLY jumped up in my arms and folded her little paws around my neck :')
I had two cats who would sit on a brick wall near the front door waiting for me to get home. They knew my usual time and if I was late they would sit there next to each other with eyes on the front gate and just wait. When I got home they would both meow, one would stand up on his back legs and climb onto my shoulder, the other would roll on his side for a quick belly rub and then be picked up. I miss that warm welcome home. Cats do have feelings, a lot of them.

I came home after a month away and my cats didn't recognize me. It wasn't until I got close enough for them to smell me that they realized who I was. My girl still won't snuggle with me. 😟

Yeah, that would be me. My husband too, though he’ll never admit it. It’s why we now have four cats and a dog—-all rescues, out of a barn, off the street, dumped in our yard or the neighbor’s (when she was out of town for an extended period and my husband was doing a regular check on her house for her).
