But this list is hardly about crying from laughter, is it? It's more about things that make us feel so desperate and helpless that we feel that all we can do is cry. Sometimes, we use laughter and humor to deflect so that we don't feel as much empathy.
As psychoanalyst and author of To Heal a Wounded Heart Pilar Jennings explains, sometimes laughter is the body's way of saying "I can't deal with this." If we allow ourselves to empathize with the person or the problem on a deeper level, we might open ourselves up to the same emotion. Thus, humor acts like a protective shield.

Actually this isn't a bad idea, and I say this as a man with 2 brothers who have 4 and 5 kids respectively and can't pay child support and live off of basically nothing. Vasectomy is reversible, too, anyway. If you can't afford to have these kids, then just get your sack tapped

While things may have changed, when I got mine in 1999, the doc said it was reversible for a while, but the chances of doing so successfully would decrease between 10 and 20 years after the procedure. So... as the meme says, we'll yes, but actually (maybe) no(t depending on time).

Rolanda Hollis in response to the Abortion Ban passed by the state. It was a protest coordinated with the ACLU to underline the absurdity of the government intervening in reproductive choices.

Minimun wage in my country is about $300, a vasectomy is about $400, so instead of mandatory vasectomies maybe fund free or cheap vasectomies. Btw, 2 years ago there was a free vasectomy campain and the hospital flooded with guys wanting one, many couldn't get it because it was a 1 day campaign.

Despite the Founding Fathers insistence on separation of Church and State, it's not always upheld. Courts: defendant swears to God (defendant has to inform the court in advance if they want a secular affirmation). Euthanasia: Absolutely not. You will wither and die in pain just as God planned (only legal in 9 states and DC). Churches/houses of worship: exempt from paying taxes (which evolved into very rich mega churches). Most State Constitutions: reference God or the Divine. Christmas: the only religious Federal holiday. Christian influence on laws: Laws against adultery, polygamy, and homosexual conduct (at least the last one's been revoked). Common law: has a Christian foundation. This is why so many dumbasses in Congress and in the voting booths think the US is a Christian nation.

I agree 100% that "the government shouldn't be involved in private reproductive health choices"! But, thinking even more big-picture and long-term on a global scale, over-population is a problem that will only get worse. Of course we want people to be prosperous, but prosperity leads to population growth, which leads to strained resources and less prosperity. How do we ensure these individual reproductive freedoms and at the same time encourage ourselves, as a species, to limit the population? I have no idea what the answer is, but it's a question we should be asking.

By that reasoning, a government should not be paying for abortions with tax dollars. (We do) We should allow employers to refuse to provide coverage for birth control if it goes against their religion (Catholic + other Religions) Dr's and Nurses should once again be allowed to be exempt from performing any type of medical abortion that is against their religion. Pharmacist should no longer be forced to provide contraceptives that are against their Religious beliefs. You can't have it both ways and yet you already have it mostly your way.

1. The only way the government pays for abortions is via Medicaid, provided to the poor in this country. It is healthcare. 2. Religion has no business in the workplace. If you deny women access to birth control, then you put them at risk for unwanted pregnancy. And more abortions. Can't have it both ways, sunshine. 3. Religion has no place in medicine. If you disagree with abortion, don't get a job in a place that provides them. 4. Religion has no place in a goddamn pharmacy, either.

My mom (80 years old) got pissed off at me the other day and screamed "I WISH I'D NEVER ADOPTED YOU!" which is extra hilarious because like... you usually have to go to a LOT of extra effort to adopt a child vs letting biology do its thing (assuming normal fertility.) It was also hilarious because she sounded like a snotty teenager yelling "YOU'RE NOT MY REAL PARENTS!!" (incidentally, I have NEVER said that to either of my adoptive parents, because they ARE my real parents.) It also really hurt. Nearly 43 years down the line, she can still cut me to the quick by telling me I'm just white trash like my biological parents and will never be good enough.

I'm currently going through something with my partner where I think it's probably going to end and one of the scariest things is that I can't really afford to live on my own. I have a decent job with the state and hardly spend money on "luxuries" but even just sticking with bare minimum it'd be so tight. So, now possibly staying in an unhealthy relationship because I literally cannot afford not to. Sorry to over share. :(
