I call the neighbour's dog "That fucking dog" because when it barks, it goes and goes and goes, and he barks at stuff like people walking out the front of his house (which, due to where I live is fairly regularly -- I live in a court that doesn't get much car traffic, but gets a lot of foot traffic due to having a park at one end and a walkway to a (more) main road at the other). The other neighbour's dog gets called "Woofer" and he is a cute husky mix (that does not get anywhere near enough attention/exercise 😔). Apparently, according to the kids I've heard playing with him, his name is actually "Rick". I personally prefer "Woofer". I'm happy to fight people on this, but I feel that Rick is not a good dog name.

Fun fact: Desmond Morris (well known TV presenter on animal shows) wrote a book called "How to train your cat" (back in the early 1980s) which included a chapter on training cats to use the (human) lavatory. The cover photo was a ginger cat called Andy Williams, who was borrowed from the vet that I worked at.

My mom has them. Frankly I can't stand them - when you sit down, it gives you that "you just sat on a public toilet that someone else was just sitting on and using and the seat is still warm from their ásscheeks" vibe, but that's just me, apparently, because my mother loves them XD

I think the person is trying to avoid elbowing the cat in the face XD If the person had their arm down normally in a normal eating position, their elbow COULD joggle or hit the cat as they moved their arm. Better not to risk it XD

My cat, every single time. My bathroom is off of my bedroom, but even when he's in the living room, my cat will get up and come in if he hears me go to the bathroom. My bedroom door was closed the other day (he was being a brat and attacking my blinds) and he didn't care- until he heard me go into the bathroom, then he was screaming outside of the bedroom door to be let in

Doggy slept on it because it smells like you, and makes them feel safe and loved. If you buy them a dog bed and they refuse to sleep in it, just take a clean old towel and rub it on your head and face to put your scent on it, then drape it over the bed. I guarantee the dog will sleep in that bed from then on. You will just have to make sure that towel is dedicated to being in the dog bed—-and be sure to put your scent back on it if you launder it when it gets gross.

My cat does this! She’s strictly an indoor cat but occasionally manages to sneak out if I’m not being careful when the door is open. The first time I panicked but she just ran for a few metres then lay down and rolled around on the ground. The second time, exact same thing 🙄😅

When my mother in law was learning to drive she braked a bit too hard and the dog fell off the back seat into the footwell. After that, every time they went out in the car if she was driving he got straight into the footwell.

Yep. When my ex and I met, I had one cat and a German Shepherd. Ex said he was allergic to both and also had a fear of dogs. I told him I wasn't getting rid of my animals and we'd work through everything. My old gray cat LOVED him XD And 24 years later when I finally moved back home, I left one of my cats (Preacher) with my ex because my ex has become a devoted "cat dad" and absolutely adores that cat. Preacher has his own chair next to my ex's at my ex's computer desk XD I miss my little guy, but he loves my ex deeply and it was better for both of them to let them stay together.

Mine will chew his squeaky toy just out of my reach (often against my lower leg), just growling and dancing around. I'm supposed to "try" to take it away so he can snap at me a few times, then he'll let me get it away from him about 6" before he latches on for tug-of-war that follows the same pattern. I" try to take it away and keep failing so he finally let's me have it. To be fake thrown a couple times before I launch it as far as I can. Usually he brings it right back to start all over again.

I have a Belgian Malinois, a breed commonly used in police and military work. Mine, however, is a giant cupcake XD He has NEVER bitten or nipped, even when he was teething as a puppy. One time, I was playing tug-toy with him and he snapped at the toy and accidentally nipped my hand. I was more surprised than hurt, but I still went "OW" and dropped the toy. My dog had SUCH a human look of regret and unhappiness on his face and immediately ran up to me to make sure I was okay XD
