So welcome to Bored Panda’s amusing collection of the most fascinating and rarely seen objects, beings, places, occurrences, and everything that will bring out that inner curious child we have inside.

Spotted A Rainbow Cloud From My Balcony. Not As Beautiful As Aurora But Pretty Rare To See Such Phenomena In India
This Is What Sunset Looks Like From Space
Even in times of scientific and technological advancements, our beautiful planet remains full of mysteries. From the incredible bismuth crystal that looks like it came from some sort of sci-fi film to the enchanting glowing forest in Japan with its luminescent mushrooms scattered along the forest floor, there are so many exquisite finds on Earth. They make us question how much about the place we inhabit we don’t really know.
Some of the most standout mysteries that have been captivating the imagination of many throughout the years include Stonehenge in Wiltshire, England. The structure consists of a ring of standing stones, with each stone standing approximately thirteen feet high, seven feet wide and weighing 25 tons. It’s believed to have been built about 5000 years ago, but scholars still do not agree on what its purpose could have been.
Another mysterious object is the stone spheres found in Costa Rica, located on the Diquis Delta and on Isla del Cano. There are over three hundred petro spheres scattered throughout the country that are still considered a great, unsolved archaeological mystery. The heaviest of them weighs many tons, and they’re believed to be made of granodiorite.

This Albino Peacock I Saw In Malaysia
At first I thought your emoji was a broccoli, idk why
Load More Replies...You are right, it's just a genetic mutation from the blue one, it's leucism, not albinism. Near my place in France you can buy a white peacock couple for 300euros (200 for the blue one, and 800 for the burmese one). The burmese is almost mute so it's better for the neighbors... Nobody needs to hear a 108db alarm/babyscream (a plane taking off is 120db) when Mr Peacock want to mate.
Load More Replies...Actually this peacock is not albino and is actually a different breed of peacock that just lacks pigment, if you look closely the tail feathers (or train) it looks off (the shape of the eye spot is not the same as a normal Indian peafowl) also albino animal have red eyes which by looking at it it doesn’t look like it does. Beautiful bird tho.
We have a few of these in a couple of wildlife parks in my state.
Lovely. Most white peacocks have a condition called leucism in which pigment fails to form.
The park in St. Augustine Fl where the Foutain of Youth is has a few of these. They are gorgeous.
The most wonderful thing (which doesn't show up in photos like this) is that the feathers have a pastel sort of iridescence which is breathtaking.
Oh wait, are these rare??? I had no idea! I'm from a town where these are plentiful!
Love It wonder how many there really is ?? Albino's this Bird I seen a picture in the News Paper of a Deer and then a Squirrel, last was all white with Big Blue Eyes a Horse !! Is the Wild Trying To ?? Or Show All Of Us SOMETHING TO LOOK,,,,,(-: ,,,, ....o ,,,""FORWARD TO"",,,,,,,,,,,,
There's on Toronto zoo, she's pretty old I call her Bea the white, sorry if that sound's a bit racist (I made the name when I was 4
That isn't albino. It is a white peacock, a different species. Both male and female are completely white.
Someday I'll contact an ornithologist for an answer to this question: Peacocks are colorful to attract peahens, right? So what do peahens think of albino peacocks? "Ew, he's boring" or "Wow, he's special?"
white peacocks are common, in fact there is one in west midlands safari park in the uk
There is an Albino peacock who lives in the grounds of a castle I live close to (consider myself very lucky to live so nearby a 1000 year old castle!) he is very friendly and always comes up to say hello to the children in the courtyard. Not sure how long they live for but he’s been there for many years now. Have never seen an albino peacock anywhere else!
He’s gorgeous to bad he will never be do great with the ladies. They didn’t evolve those beautiful iridescent feathers for nothing!
Very pretty. Sadly he will never be very popular with the ladies! They didn’t evolve all of those bright, iridescent for nothing. But still gorgeous.
I absolutely adore this! How amazing Nature is!!! For you Abbey!! 💕
I have a pic of 2 albino peacocks eating in one dish.. they created a heart by the shape of their beautiful white feathers.
All peacocks are albino at first, they don't gain their colorful plumage until they've tasted human flesh.
Always my favorite bird as a child and I still love them and all birds..
We have one of those at our local zoo. I was on a field trip with 2nd graders and one of them said “someone much have bleached it” 😂
i have a farm/plant store/farm store near me and they have some of those
Took a picture of one just like this at Hialeah or a Florida horse track in 1971. Black and white film very grainy. Minister Jack
These are so beautiful. Have you heard the sound made when the wind hits them??
There's one here in Florida at the gulf breeze zoo. They are beautiful
This picture does not do justice to the beauty of these. There are so many different shades of white.
I saw one of these at a zoo once- and when I kept screaming and pointing at it in amazement my parents were just like “I know it’s beautiful.” That was it. FOR THIS WONDERFUL CREATURE.
I have seen one in Langkawi, the cage seems familiar. Maybe it's from the same zoo?
Fun (or boring) fact: this not an albino, it’s just a white peacock. It’s also not very unique. White peacocks are just like white tigers, the exact same animal as a standard orange tiger or a blue and purple peacock but white colour differences that have naturally occurred and that humans have then exploited and bred into the species. Most white ‘peacocks’ you see are just peahens (female peafowl are called peahens & males, peacocks) - peahens don’t have the fancy colours or the tail feathers peacocks do and are always just white or brown, but you can now find white peacocks in almost all areas where humans have had a hand in their breeding.
I didn't know there was a such thing as an albino Peacock. It looks so prettyfull
How is it that this guy is more stunning than the technicolor version!
There are white peacock all over Isola Bella at Palazzo Borromeo in Northern Italy's lake District.
I saw one in front of my apartment like a month ago. My cat was outside and he just took of running when it started making a loud noise. They are so beautiful in real life.
It might not be an albino. Peacocks have different color phases. The reason you see more blue peacocks is because when the English entered India they liked the blue ones more than the white ones, so they took more of them back with them.
This reminds me of a duck who hissed at everything. Even a bit of my hair
I have seen one of these up close it is like looking a live lace and when they shake the feathers it is gorgeous!
They are stunning birds, especially the white ones, pure white animals always look angelic to me❤️
I've been to Malaysia and saw a white peacock. Wonder if it's the same one
the small town where I used to live had a park with, among other animals, peacocks. they were allowed to wander free and ended up in different parts of town (one had a nest in the cement blocks n front of a dentist office and they regularly visited the library). one day I watched as a white peacock gracefully flew over traffic and landed in the busiest intersection in town. to say that its appearance freaked out an out-of-state trucker would be an understatement.
Sadly enough, these peacocks don't get mates because they don't have flashy bright colors.

Sendai Daikannon, One Of The Tallest Statues In The World
I am fascinated by the optical effect of the design. The statue is not at full body length, it's around 3/4, missing the bottom 1/4. This makes the brain believe that the statue goes lower (like if the legs of the statue extended down), therefore it's perceived longer than it actually is. How cool!

In England you sometimes see these "wavy" brick fences. And curious as it may seem, this shape uses fewer bricks than a straight wall. A straight wall needs at least two layers of bricks to make it sturdy, but the wavy wall is fine thanks to the arch support provided by the waves.

My grandad worked for British Ordnance Survey in the 1950s and 60s, he went out, measured the landscape and then hand drew maps. When he died, we cleared out his home studio and I found at least 6 of these in various draws, boxes etc. I remember sitting with him as a child running them over maps to see where we were in relation to landmarks etc. I still love looking at maps 30 years after his death as it reminds me of the gentle, kind soul he was.

"Here is some cool patina. While driving back to my house Saturday night my car was struck by lightning. It was freaking awesome I couldn't see or hear anything for about 2 minutes. The next morning I looked at my car and saw this. Not only did it burn the paint it bubbled the metal. I sealed it with epoxy so I can keep it forever too bad this is on my Honda Fit. I figured when the car is junk I'm going to cut it out and hang it on the shop wall."
