“Do You Remember When”: 50 Times This Facebook Group Brought Us Back To The Good Old Days

I always loved this because it gave me something to doodle on when I was supposed to be paying attention.

I can’t even guess how many hours I played with this. I absolutely loved mine.

I remember my younger sisters having these. The dolls were heavy cardboard, and the clothes were basically paper, and most of the time they had to be cut out with a scissors. They didn't last long because if the clothes got wet, they would slowly disintegrate.

I'm baffled. In Germany, we had these too, but not with actual real tobacco-brands.

Heck yeah. Awesome, and still have a ton of vintage equipment.

Many years later, I learned that the collar and the bowtie were part of the cartoonists' tricks to make animating the heads faster and easier.

And recording songs off the radio with my cassette player and getting ticked off when he started talking at the end of the songs. Lol

I used to love orange crème pops. I just a yogurt that was flavored orange creme and it brought me back.

And usually the telephone sat on top of the phone book….

My mom still does this. I'm 36.

Nope. I honestly don't remember cars not having seatbelts. I always used to sit in the middle in the back with the lap belt on, which was a lethal device. I actually drive a car now which is older than me and although it technically doesn't need to have seatbelts, as it was built without, currently has racing harnesses fitted.

I remember mom chasing a poor teenage boy and gf thru town like a 70s movie car chase. Brother and me were unbuckled and flying around the backseat. She was cutting people off and driving in the turn lane.When she finally got them pulled over the poor boy looked scared to death. She proceeded to cuss and lecture him for his reckless driving at the intersection a few miles back and her kids are in the car and could have been killed. Lol. Mom may of had anger issues.

I don't have kids, but I do it whenever I have a passenger in the car. Lol

My Dad would not start the car until my sister and I were buckled in. This would have started in the mid 60s and was always the rule in the car. He was ahead of his time.

And, it's a hard habit to break even after many years of wearing seat belts.

My husband does this. I’m almost 66.

Not in the back of the car. We just rattled around like peas in a tincan. We had to brace around corners and often our rears left the seat going over a bump.

My dad still does this and I am 43!!!

so much a thing, all adults I knew used to do that though, even if they didn't have kids.

Hopefully one’s reminiscing about being a kid, not rueing the day seatbelts became a standard car feature, lol

My mom was so used to me riding standing up, with my arms hooked over the back of the seat, that she aimed it accordingly. One time she did it when I was actually sitting down for a change, and broke my nose with her Mexican topaz cocktail ring.

Yes, and I did this to my own kids.

Yep. More likely to cause an injury than the actual crash would. Fairly sure she nearly broke my nose a few times.

They were 'banned' (really they just stop showing the cartoons) because they were characters created from racist tropes. Many of the characters from Looney Toons and Hanna Barbara were extremely racist and stereotypes. They weren't part of 'our culture' or 'our history' - they were blatant examples of systemic racism in the USA. And to those who said, 'They were just cartoons!' - yes, just cartoons, so why do you miss them or need them?

I still have one, kept it when I cleared my mothers home.

She has burn scars over 75% her body from a childhood accident. When she was coming up with this character, she had a close friend who worked in costumes design her an outfit that was as revealing as possible without showing her scars. That's how her iconic dress was designed!
