50 Of The Most Breathtaking Forgotten Places, As Shared By This Twitter Account
Twitter user Alex Menn shares pictures of abandoned places from all around the world and the images are hauntingly beautiful, to say the least.
They capture the eerie stillness of forgotten factories, temples, amusement parks, and other locations. Some of the sites appear frozen in time, with old machinery and furniture left behind as if the occupants suddenly vanished and never returned. Others show signs of decay and nature slowly reclaiming the structures.

Houses found deep in forests fascinate me and make me feel uneased at the same time.
Looks like kudzu. Some counties in South Carolina have a full time crew to keep after the kudzu.
After being a ruin for most of my adult life (I'm almost 36) it's currently being restored. You can find a couple of live streams of the building at https://cazinoconstanta.ro/ if you're curious about its current status. And a bit of trivia, the last major restoration job was done in the 1950s, during the communist regime, when political prisoners were used for the work. The current restoration project uncovered various notes hidden in the walls by the prisoners, such as farewell messages and lists of names of the people who worked there, in the hope that the messages would be found some day and they would not be forgotten.
And once there were people looking out through those windows waiting for the guests to arrive
I believe whole heartedly that humans are the worst thing to happen to earth.

Was a mining community, with residential blocks covering most of the tiny island and the mine beneath.... Amazing place...

Abandoned? Those rails look pretty shiny and the vegetation not over the rails.
Parking could be a problem. But, behind the camera, there is parking. Also, but, it is not abandoned, just closed.
I've been here. Its only a little over an hour from me. There are walkways all around to view and learn the history of it.
Why am I thinking the gateway reminds of another place in Poland, but with a less happy vibe.
Is this one of those places where a town was flooded to create a dam?

Are the photographers taking vases of flowers with them to abandoned places, or just cleaning ones they find? This is the second photo where there are vases that seem relatively clean and out of place.
Looks like the old Victorian pool I learned to swim in here in UK, 70's.
All the labor it took to build it plus to dig a tunnel into the mountains

Where? It might be the ol' route of the Prairie Dog Central. I remember it went through behind the SuperStore on Grant Ave. and all along behind Centennial Ave. Me and my friends used to hang out on the tracks on occasion and look at the rocks.
This is the Pontiac Silverdome. It was never technically abandoned. The Detroit Lions played there until 2001, but it continued to be used for various events until the roof collapsed during a blizzard in 2013. After determining that it would be too costly to repair, it was demolished in 2017.
This alex menn is a huge huge mythomaniac. He did not go to the places he said he discovered, visited, found out and definitely did not take the pictures he said he did. For one very good reason : most of these places are NOT abandoned (never were) and the pics are all old and well known. Don’t give exposure to liars and thieves. Original urbex content it not hard to find.
Yeah. Not only that, but I had to do an image search just to see where some of these places were or if they were even real. I am pretty sure the abandoned mall pic was computer generated.

And he doesn't credit a single photographer. I deeply detest people like him who go for cheap fame by ripping of pictures they found online. Some urban explorers do this professionally and make their living with their photography. But Alex the loser obviosly doesn't care.
I see these posts, and I can't help but think about people all over the world in need of decent shelter. Seems out of whack
