Your social media feed is, to a large extent, a reflection of your personality. You see posts made by artists who inspire you, athletes whom you admire, and publishers that provide information on the topics you care about.
So whenever something pops up there that doesn't align with your values and interests, it sticks out like a silly misplaced emoji in a serious conversation. However, sometimes people run into things that they find are so far-removed from their casual online experience that they feel as if they just discovered a UFO artifact.
Turns out, one platform is particularly rich with these "surprises," and I think you can already sense which one. (Hint: it belongs to Meta.) And there's a whole subreddit to prove it! So to show you just how wild and unpredictable it can be, we invite you to take a look at what the 2.3 million members of r/TerribleFacebookMemes have been reposting. Oh, darn it, I gave it away. Anyway, here you go!

My Grandpa Just Reposted This Make It Stoppppp
There's no reason to be a d**k to the person just trying to do their job, but they're not wrong.
This Hurts
In a post titled, 'Return to our Roots,' the moderators of r/TerribleFacebookMemes said that "originally this subreddit was about Boomer memes," but it went through quite an intense period.
"It was about memes so painfully unfunny and out of touch that you would choke on a minion if you had to endure one more cry-laughing emoji on a sad post."
However, since the mods allowed members a lot of freedom, over time the community began to transform "into some kind of unholy abomination where ... most of the posts ... are just outright racism or transphobia."

Tattoo Bad
Taken Straight From Facebook
Wow! So I should alter my whole appearance and style to suit other people's tastes, rather than to suit myself? Never heard that before!.... said no woman ever 🙄
So the moderators had to intervene. "Somewhere in February, a smarter-than-average subscriber in modmail alerted us to the fact that Reddit has a terms of service and today we alert you to that too," they explained in the post.
"Subreddits can get banned and users can get sitewide suspensions for the [things] we feature here. Even if it is meant to laugh at. Even if we explicitly say that agreeing with the bad memes is forbidden."
Woah Fast
This Definitely Belongs Here
So the atheist child created something actually useful and the religious child didn't?
So Funny
To be fair, I know so little about computers and programming,I'd probably do that. I'm sure I could make even the toughest, most experienced tech support cry like a baby.
A Relative Just Shared This After Sharing Pro Trump Memes For 4 Years
"For some bizarre, unfathomable reason, we do actually like this place," the mods continued. "We want to keep it. We want to see it prosper. So we need to go back to our roots."
They announced that they're working hard to eradicate any racism, transphobia, homophobia, and other issues you could've noticed there. Now, "all posts have to follow the site-wide rules."
This post was made in March, and it seems that they're trying their best to live up to it, even if some relics from the past remain.

Of course, just like other generations, boomers are much more diverse than these memes suggest. Some of the life experiences, and thus worldviews, of a senior in Toronto likely bear little resemblance to one from Tokyo.
After all, this generation has gone from using landlines to flip phones to smartphones and from typewriters to desktops to laptops.
The "Growing Up In The 70s" Fb Page Is A Gold Mine Of Shit Tier Memes
Well it'd be difficult for the kids who didn't survive to post this meme now wouldn't it?
Haha She Wants A Big Dick
🤔
I want to be honest, I don't care what a woman is. I don't care what a man is either. I don't even care what I am. And you know what? It doesn't matter who identifies as what, nobody is hurt by just being friendly to each other
My Uncle Just Shared This
At least it feels like its going in the right direction, that you should not be allowed to compete with females if you went through puberty as a man. More and more high level female athletes speak up about it. How it sucks to train so hard you whole life for a man to come in and break records a woman might never be able to match.
Plus, they aren't hostile towards younger generations 'just because' and aren't criticizing them as much as it sometimes might seem in the media.
Yes, 48 percent of boomers think that a person's chances of success depend more on their merit than factors that are outside of their control, but so do 44 percent of Gen X, 41 percent of millennials, and 40 percent of Gen Z. So there's no big generational divide on this question.
So maybe we should cut them some slack too? After all, every basket of apples can have a variety of aromas, flavors, and textures.
Why Is Kermit Involved
Sure 🙄
Says one of the people that want to send their children to anti gay camps where abusers roam free and can do whatever they want to the kids.

I mean yeah, but you could make that with anyone having a PHD who hasn't a doctor in medicine, right?
Yes
I would much prefer my warriors to be both. I want my warriors to have very well developed critical thinking skills. I want them to understand and create good strategies. I want them to have empathy. I do NOT want them to be mere animals acting on brute strength only I want them to recognize bad orders that shouldn’t be followed when they’re given, instead of acting like robots given their programming and not questioning it. It’s like the people who claim to be doers, not thinkers. That’s not the flex they think it is. Because things work out much better if you do the thinking BEFORE the doing.

My Uncle Sent Me This. I'm Still Trying To Figure It Out
fits with how men sit.. somehow they can't manage to keep their legs together.
That is because you can't stand properly with them damn velociraptor high heels unless you're a pro. The men have man shoes, they don't have that issue
I also just noticed, the woman on the left has flat shoes so she can stand normally. I think that's relevant here for that post
Load More Replies...Rachel Levine on the left, a professor of pediatrics and psychiatry @Penn State College of Medicine, one of the few open transgender officials in the US government and admiral ( 4 star) in the US Public Health Service Commissioned Corps. Transphobic people trying to make fun of her. i don't care how someone stands or sits as long as they are good at a good job!
The woman on the left w her feet pointing apart is transgender. They're trying to compare her to the men bc shes the only woman in the pic w her feet pointing apart
Load More Replies...Was so busy seeing if I can comfortably sit with my legs together that I didn't even notice until I read your comment. Had to take a second look. (And for anyone wondering, it requires contracting muscles and holding them in that position which quickly becomes tiring and uncomfortable. No, men do not do this because we're rude or feel the need to take up space)
Load More Replies...because women are taught from a young age to sit and stand ladylike and not to take up much space.
So wouldn't the answer be breaking the habit to conform built into women from a young age, rather than building the same habit of not taking up space into men? Conversely, I can all but guarantee if you put men in skirts, they wouldn't be spreading their legs on the train as much. At least, the non-pervs wouldn't.
Load More Replies...No, just pathetic conservatives making fun of the trans woman on the left.
Load More Replies...Yes. She is a trans woman and this is a right-wing meme making fun of her.
Load More Replies...I feel the need to point out that two of the women in this picture are standing with their feet apart just like the men...
Men and Boys are taught that stance from Cub scouts to the Military. It has to do with training .I know males who sit with legs and knees together like women and they are as straight as a ruler!
The b***h on the end IS NOT A B***H!! She's a BASTARD!! Simple as that
It's a subconscious desire to dominate a space - same reason some people sit with legs and arms akimbo. It's not necessarily determined by gender though. Check out the woman on the far left.
She's trans so she wasn't brought up like women are.
Load More Replies...So is the person on the left a man in drag? The person3rd from the right a crossdresser?
I stand like that, and I have a uterus. Not that one is a requirement for womanhood, but I feel it points out the flawed reasoning all the same.
it's just a stance, people. I could be doing handstands, and it'd be just as a big deal as their standing positions.
Probably male and female bodies are engineered differently. Note that men tend to walk heel-to-toes and women tend to a wider, side-by-side stride.
Knees are closer together so I’ll give your man on the left there 7/10.
guys, it's a slam on the woman on our left. Just another sexist joke.
still trying to figure it out? what do you mean, pretty obvious what the intent of the post is
I thought it had something to do with the fact that the "lady" on the left was actually a man. LOL!
She is a trans woman. This is adolescent, right wing "humor", and a fairly pathetic, common example.
