“Extremely butch”? Was “butch” a typo? If it wasn’t, what are you trying to say? That a woman who expresses her feelings is being “masculine”? If that’s what you’re trying to do, I’d suspect *you’re* sixteen (or younger). I’d also worry that you were raised by misogynists, but if you *are* a teen, there’s still time for you to be treated before you leave home and run into some very, VERY serious problems.

I would tell my husband, "You take of this, or I will and you won't like it". If he gives me any s**t about it I'd remind him that I have more power over his day to day happiness in life than his mother, so he might want to keep that in mind. Unless he'd like to sleep on the couch for the foreseeable future and maybe, end up not married anymore.

Anyone who doesn't have a go bag, you should in case of any emergency. I had one the whole time I was single and still have one . You need a small first aid kid a water bottle ideally one with a filter. Clothes - assume it'll bad weather whatever that means in your area. You want some food and a space blanket. Documents - all the ID stuff, medical info, insurance info, pet microchip/vet records. A book of phone numbers and addresses in case you are without phone/electricity/internet. A charger in case you have electricity. Glasses if you need them. Toiletries, and maybe a keepsake or two. If you're just packing a change of clothes tampons and money that's a hook up bag or a trip to the casino bag, not a go bag

It's super weird to want to be at a memorial service/activity where you don't know the person. Going to support your partner, that's great if your presence is wanted but if you can offer support in 20 minutes or even accompany the person to the graveside at any other moment of the year, why kick up a fuss and make things harder on those who are actually grieving? I can only assume it would be durnto narcism or some controlling tendency.

I agree with all the comments about reversing the sexes and then looking, but one thing everyone has missed is the risk to the OP. Her friend goes out and gets with someone. The guy's friend might not take it well if she doesn't put out like her friend. And may not take no for an answer, especially if alcohol is involved. I think she's not considering the risk (or maybe has, but just hasn't bothered explaining the steps she takes to ensure no means no). It's not right, but it is a fact that women have to be more careful in situations like this.
