Why do only Americans think socialism is communism? My taxes pay for healthcare and transit, roads and the like. Others taxes help me when I need it. I don't get a bill from a hospital. My medication is covered.

Husband didn't even graduate and had 30k in student debt in 2010. Now in 2025 after paying 800 every month he only owes 25k!

No one should be forced to care for a child they can't manage and no child should be forced to be resented for it. Their son has a loving family now who chose him and his birth parents aren't facing serious financial strain and stress. Personally if I knew my child was going to have severe disabilities I'd either abort if it was early enough or adopt out because I do not have the capacity financially to give the care necessary here in the U.S where medical costs can easily bankrupt people. My current child is only mildly disabled and it is already almost too expensive but still within my means. It does mean that I will not be having any more children though so that I can focus my money and attention on him.
