Lainey Molnar is back on Bored Panda with even more thought-provoking illustrations. With her art, she challenges and explores societal norms surrounding femininity, body image and more.

The artist creates empowering comics that resonate with women from around the world. "I personally believe that important or heavy topics are processed in a straightforward way - with just a few words - and with colorful and fun drawings it’s easier to relate to and connect over. I always mean to start conversations more than make statements, this content is as much about the individual stories and opinions shared in comments as the illustration itself," Lainey shared with Bored Panda.

What if he'll murder me AND doesn't look like his photos so it will be harder for the police to find him?

YES! This. I have also seen it as ' women are afraid men will murder them. men are afraid women will laugh at them.'

Margaret Atwood of, among many others, The Handmaid's Tale fame, coined that, “Men are afraid that women will laugh at them. Women are afraid that men will kill them.”

I can so very much relate to what the woman is saying, but I feel a majority of men are actually more afraid of being rejected.

Well, statistics say you don’t really have to. When women kill it’s almost always family members …. Like an annoying spouse that they poison or have somebody else take care of. And more often I think women worry about rape. I don’t know if men worry about that. However, it can’t be easy for a man who would never harm a woman to feel like he is being held responsible for the actions of the few idiots out there. But as women we learn that we have to protect ourselves. And if a woman doesn’t and it ends badly for her, she sometimes receives part of the blame for being too naive.

This obviously untrue, because I've met men who've had this happen, but I've never met a woman who was murdered. *EDIT FOR PEOPLE WHO DONT UNDERSTAND WHAT A JOKE IS* This is not a serious comment. It is sarcasm. Ffs.

Well you wouldn't have met them since they would be dead.... N there are other worries like violence, rape, blackmail, etc. It doesn't always happen but there's higher risk from meeting a stranger online

All men are murderers, in fact, there has never been any murder committed by women

The artist has previously shared with Bored Panda that she gets ideas for her illustrations from her own experiences as a woman. But she follows other content creators and inspiring people as well that touch on a variety of topics surrounding womanhood.

This hits really hard. I struggle to open up to people, but people always come to me with their problems because I'm supportive. And I'm glad! But sometimes its hard. (Trigger warning!) I recently tried to put up boundaries for the first time (!) when a friend came complaining to me. I told her kindly that she was valid, but I didn't have the emotional capacity to help her right now, and that I had to focus on me first. Her reply? "Fine. I guess I'll just go kill myself then." It was triggering for me.

I'm so sorry, that's such a f****d-up thing to say, especially to someone who's triggered by it. It can be hard to set boundaries, and it's not fair at all for her to respond like that. I've known people who pretended to in a worse place mentally than they actually were, just to "fit in" or get attention, and it feels really awful, especially when you've struggled with similar issues. <3

And for that someone to truly listen, not just look at me until I'm done talking; for them to not try to "fix" it as if I'm not capable, for them to offer a shoulder to lean on or hold me tight and just be there in support of my vulnerable moment. Those things will go so very far toward showing me that its ok to feel the way I'm feeling and its ok to express it instead of feeling needy or like an emotional burden.

Currently, my spouse is dealing with chronic pain that won't get better, is hard to treat, and even the medicines for it make him sick. I cannot do anything to lessen the pain, so I do my best to sit with him, comfort how I can, and offer to do anything he needs. It's hard because you just want to fix everything for them but sometimes you just can't.

Very sweet that you want to fix it. Very smart that you know that sometimes you cannot fix things. I hope your partner's pain gets better. You sitting with him lessens the emotional pain and that is important too!

I've found that most people do not want solutions, they want to rant and be comforted. Most people can work out for themselves what the available solutions are. I've learnt this the hard way and try to not give advice anymore until after listening to long rants, I do not hear the advice / solution mentioned at all. Then and only then do I say, well, I would do X but I suppose that's not what you need to hear right now.

I want a solution AFTER I have ranted and been comforted. Sometimes people just need to vent and then they will be open to solutions. I'm just speaking about my own experiences, but I doubt very much that I am alone in that way of thinking.

Coming from a guys POV...at least for myself, I didn't know this. If someone is telling me about a problem, I'm thinking they want my thoughts on fixing it. Why else would they be telling me about it? Took some time to figure out to just listen. And if this is what you need, say so, cuz we can be slow to realize it.

People are only thinking about the baby about to come. The rest of the time a woman is told what to do, how to maintain her appearance and physique, even while pregnant. Then after the baby is born, everyone gushes over the baby and then turns to the mom with sour glares, and raised brows interrogating her about how she's taking care of the baby and scolding her over how "tired, dishevelled and disgusting" she looks, and to remind her to "wear a longer shirt". Then they wonder why she's depressed.

Same! Pick-me used to be a useful term for girls who throw other women under the bus in pursuit of male attention, but over time it's just become another way for traditionally feminine women to feel superior to butch or generally nontraditional girls (as if they needed another reason). Kind of a shame, but I guess that's just the internet for you :/

I gave up on the plants. My husband keeps taking my lights because he's jealous. Love my airfryer. Though I'm the emotional support animal for my dog, not sure how I ended up with a nervous wreck of an animal, but she's my everything.

In winter I wear long Johns or fleece-lined leggings underneath jeans and I am usually still cold. I don't even live somewhere that gets a lot of snow in the winter. I have horrible circulation because I am very sedentary. I don't understand how women can be warm enough in a cropped puffer coat and leggings and Chucks. Must be nice to have a good metabolism and better circulation.

True. Men who are subjected to abuse from a partner are sometimes ridiculed or called whiny, if they speak up about it and that’s definitely not fair. It’s destructive to be mistreated by someone you love, no matter who you are.

I don't think the point is about not "needing" a man. My interpretation is that it's possible for women to choose to be single and live happy, fulfilling lives. I am ine of those people. Marriage never appealed to me but people are often shocked when they learn it's a lifestyle I've chosen, not one that I was forced into by circumstances.

What’s the pink thing on the lower right she’s holding in her left hand?

I’m very proud I know this: it’s a clitoral stimulator with suction/vibrator. They rock 😉

Long distance relationships don't have to be that sexual either. It's really a personal choice whether to perform on camera with someone watching. It's not comfortable for a lot of people in that situation.

Self love for me looks like taking a shower and reading a book, but you do you (literally and/or figuratively) sistah!

Well there's the cozy one there. And the romantic one doesn't have to be sexual. Although if the guy is buying her food then it's likely he's expecting something in return. Dating is terrifying these days.

Good point, I don’t think she did it on purpose but it’s still not great.

There should be a subscript or something that says “Both are awesome.”

My husband and I still don't wear rings. We couldn't wear them because of our jobs but after 10 years of nothing I don't like the feeling of rings but I love the look of rings.
