35 Funny Comics With Unexpected Twists That Poke Fun At Our Society By ToonHole Comics
Ryan Kramer, aka ToonHole Ryan, draws hilarious comics with unexpected twists that give us new insights into how weird our world really is. He’s part of ToonHole—a group of friends who illustrate funny cartoons. Together with his buddies Chris, John, and Mike, Ryan posts awesome content online on Monday and Friday for all of us to enjoy.
Ryan’s currently directing on Looney Tunes at Warner Bros. and he says that apart from making comics, he likes raising kids, enjoys meditation, fitness, and philosophy. He’s a real polymath who also loves breakfast burritos. And who can blame him for that? I mean, who doesn’t like breakfast burritos? Ryan has also released a book called “Don’t Leave Me Hanging” that is chock full of his gag comics. Scroll down for Bored Panda's in-depth interview with Ryan to learn more about his art and creative process! Don't forget to upvote your fave comics and let us know in the comments what you think of them.
The ToonHole dudes have been together since 2010 and all together they’ve drawn more than 1k comics (not to mention some animations as well). You can check out Bored Panda’s post about Ryan’s pal Chris Allison’s cartoons right here and our other post about the entire ToonHole gang’s awesome comics right here.

A Good Time For A Raise
Ryan told Bored Panda that he’s inspired to keep drawing because he gets a satisfying feeling when he finishes something he likes. “It’s extra rewarding if my readership receives it well, too,” he added.
“I developed my style through a fondness of classic cartoons and MAD magazine. I’m also inspired by my peers in the animation industry and the webcomic world,” the illustrator revealed.
We were also interested to find out how Ryan and his friends met and founded ToonHole. “I met the other ToonHole guys in college and we bonded over a love of old cartoons and similar drawing sensibilities. It’s always a challenge to grow your audience consistently since media platforms are always evolving and moving the goalposts. It’s also a challenge to get big accounts and content aggregators to appropriately credit your shared work,” he shared some of the challenges that they as creators faced.

Load More Replies...When you grow up in a Christian family, you are taught that it's the farmers that grow the crops etc and to be thankful for that. That's what harvest festival is all about. Often grace includes thanking those that grow the food we eat it or similar. Farming is used as a theme throughout the bible in parables, so the importance of those that grow the food is definitely not forgotten. Thanking God isn't excluding those who worked to produce our food. It's inclusive as it teaches thankfulness for what we have and where it comes from.
Yes, whenever I pray before dinner I say “Bless the hands that prepared it.”
Load More Replies...Yes, in our everyday lives, farmers dont get enough appreciatiom- monetary or otherwise.
Neither do immigrants who work in the fields and orchards
Load More Replies...With a slight change in scenery: The team battling with Covid-19 is trying to keep a patient in intensive care alive, doing exhausting work, both physically and mentally. Two weeks go by, three weeks, and then a glimmer of hope. Another few days and the patient leaves intensive care, sometime later they leave the hospital, cured! "Hallelujah, praise the Lord!" says one of the relatives, "Thank God!" says the other, while the doctor and the nurse overhearing the praise are to tired to say anything at all."
The doctor and nurse could thank God too. Even if it's silently. If they don't believe He exists, then of course that's meaningless to them. But believers know God gives life, so of course we thank God. Doctors can't save a life if God decides the sick person's life purpose has already been fulfilled and it's time for Heaven. If the doctor in this anecdote doesn't get thanked, that doesn't mean nobody notices the medical workers anyways. In fact, they're getting lots more recognition right now. If ocassionally a family whose loved one is spared is so overwhelmed with emotion that they rudely forget to thank the doctor, that doesn't prove thankfulness to God is a bad thing. Can't the doctor just be happy they helped people?
Load More Replies...Actually farmers, God could just make the decision to not give farmers a good harvest
Let's thank the farmers and the supermarket and forget that without God nothing grows. Today is may 12, 2020 in 8 months this will make more sense than ever. Farmers can put in the ground all they want but if God doesn't provide the right weather for it. The land will go to waste and we will starve.
So, you just assume there's a god. You "know" it is real. The only real thing we can be sure of, even though it may be metaphysical, is sentience. Philosophers may have deduced that their consciousness exists because they are sentience. Cogito, ergo sum.
Load More Replies...Well the lord did give the farmers the chance to grow the food he changes the seasons and makes it rain...
Please don't try to convert people, religion is something some guy made up because he wondered what made things happen and was foolish enough to come to a conclusion. He came to the false conclusion that an omnipotent sapient entity created everything and made all things happen. He also invented the idea of forgiveness because he had probably done something bad and wanted to go to a better place when he died. Speaking of that, going to a better place when one dies is something invented because people don't want to simply fade into oblivion. They want a place of eternal euphoria. As for the part where you said that we can plant the seed but only the almighty can grow it, this is assuming that humans are autonomous but all other living organisms are controlled exclusively by a god.Buddhism is probably the religion that is the closest to the truth. They know that you fade into oblivion and that nothing we do actually matters, or that the universe actually exists. Everything is metaphy.
Load More Replies...You could start by using your brains to use better grammar than that. Making a joke that insults religious people's personal beliefs and mentally challenged people's dignity is unnecessary, extremely rude, and again, doesn't prove you're smart. Anyways, what were you trying to accomplish, if there's "nothing anyone with brains can do"? Vent your anger? Try showing some basic respect for other human beings who did nothing to you, and show yourself true respect too by saying things that are actually meaningful. I'm all for lolspeak and memes and lingo etc but using slang to insult people for no good reason is not cute, funny, or cool.

“Writing a good comic means I have to allow time for my mind to wander so I can capture an idea worth drawing,” Ryan told Bored Panda about his creative process. “A comic from start to finish is usually anywhere from 2 to 6 hours depending on complexity and style.”
Ryan added that he feels extremely grateful to have the readership and support that he’s amassed over the last 10 years. “I hope my work ushers a little more joy into the world because making these has surely given me immense pleasure.”
More than 99k people follow Ryan on Instagram and he has nearly 5.5k fans each on Facebook and on Twitter.

Ryan’s friend Chris previously told Bored Panda a bit about what inspiration is like for him personally and gave us some more insights into how the ToonHole squad looks at art and creativity.
For Chris, inspiration is like magic and can come from anywhere: “A conversation, a book, an overheard conversation, a misheard word, or seeing somebody trip on the sidewalk. There are no rules!”
The entire ToonHole gang of friends has different approaches to art and their creative processes. For example, Chris told us that he likes to mix it up and draws some comics digitally and some using analog materials like ink, watercolor, and colored pencil. For Chris, it takes him roughly 3 hours to finish a single comic starting from the thumbnail to the finished piece.

What in the world is a split charge? Are you charged because the restaurant had to use math and divide your total?
Haha! I love these! The art style looks really familiar but idk where i've seen this before. Kinda reminds me of my own art style a little bit in some of them :)
